Ruben Amorim - Manchester United Head Coach

Exactly what I've been saying for months.

The current squad is already capable of a 70+ points tally over a 38 game league season. Ten Hag had them massively underperforming for more than a year.

A good number of the players with no real future at the club are in the last year of their contracts: Eriksen, Evans, Lindelöf, maybe Maguire as well. We've already got rid of a lot of players last summer too: AWB, McTominay, Greenwood, van de Beek, Martial, Varane, Sancho.

Casemiro and Antony might be difficult assets to sell, but both of them provide at least some usefulness to the squad. Still, it's only just two players and I'm sure there will be opportunities to sell Casemiro to Saudi Arabia or somewhere outside Europe, and I think Antony will accept that he has to leave if he barely gets any game time, rather than warming the bench with no future at the club.

If you look at our wage bill, we've put ourselves in a really good position over the last 24 months and now actually have a lot of space for new players, and to offer our current best performers improved terms when the time for that comes.

Our lowish net spend last summer, combined with many "pure profit" sales (McT, Greenwood, Carreras, Kambwala) to help PSR, as well as the supposed continued external investment into the club by Ratcliffe should put us into a healthy financial status as well, with a lot of money to spend on the market, if we wish to.

I think this squad doesn't need gutting at all. A few departures and a few good additions each summer will see us turn into title contenders within the next two seasons IMO, if Amorim and his coaching staff are as good as we, and Ineos want to believe they are.

Yeah this squad is definitely better than it looked under ETH.

Also it's not feasible to tear up the squad every time a new manager comes in. That is exactly the sort of thing we wanted to stop with ineos being in charge of transfers rather than the manager.

It's not even like we aren't going to sign anyone, we just can't keep spending 200 million every summer

The overly miserable doom merchants. You know who.
God forbid people being miserable after more than 18 months of absolutely dire football and our worst ever PL and European performance. Was the worst period in my 20 odd years of being a United fan to watch the club.

Maybe he doesn't have his full squad together yet..
Get out of here with you logic and common sense!

You name vil also go on ze list!!

Probably over worrying but Amorim and particularly his coaches are so young.

29 and assistant manager at United.

There can't be too many examples of such a young management team at a big club.

Isn’t this equivalent of an academy player playing in the first team?

Damn never thought it like that… I think the only similar case I can think of was Jose’s assistant at Spurs. He too was 29 or 30 if I recall.

Mourinho was 41 when he first went to Chelsea. Wasn't Pep in his early 40's when he took over at Barca? I don't see age being a problem at all if they're capable. If anything, it's a positive for me.

The 29 year old is the assistant manager?!

Life is more fun when people don’t become drains on others!

Yeah Amorim's right hand man. Another coach is 28.

Not like there's any rules on this it just feels like a pretty unique experiment.

Like others have said Pep and Mourinho were young so it's possible. No idea if they had experienced coaches around them though.

McKenna won 2 promotions at his age.

Well we’ve been through old and experienced coaches and guess what. Nothing changed. At least these coaches will bring the fun back to our football. They’ll bring modern ideas aswell as there not ancient.

Some more pics in there. Mainoo, Yoro, Malacia, Shaw and Mount all trained apparently. Martinez and Lindelof to be assessed.

This is actually what I've been saying. These guys will just bring us into the modern era and way of playing which is good.

Just watched part of the interview with him. I like how he comes across - confident and relaxed. He is also markedly better at expressing himself in English compared to ETH.
