Ruben Amorim - Manchester United Head Coach

Just watched part of the interview with him. I like how he comes across - confident and relaxed. He is also markedly better at expressing himself in English compared to ETH.

Has anyone told him he can't play himself? It's not 2013, why is he trying to battle Evans?
Old habits die hard

Am I a total weirdo for in theory accepting a dodgy result on Sunday as long as we look tactically like a totally different side to the one we've seen this season under Ten Hag.

We can be tactically like a totally different side and still be shit, but i don’t think that helps.

It would be nice to look like a completely different side in a positive way, maintaining that long terms means results will go our way as well.

No more accepting dodgy results. The Ten Hag days are over. I’m confident we will absolutely see a new system and new way of play. I’m expecting a winning start cause I have full confidence in the manager and the coaching staff.

Seems completely fair and logical to be honest. I think sacrificing on principles and patterns for the sake of a quick result will end up coming back to bite us and actually be counter productive in the long run. I think a Klopp-esque first season at Liverpool where there is inconsistencies in results due to a new system and lack of appropriate players, but you can see the play style and dna clearly on the field. Would love for him to stick to his system and use this season to familiarize the team with his ethos and also resurrect some players, bed some youngsters, and have a clear idea of who doesn't fit in his system and which positions to address come the end of the season would be a perfect season imo.

Longer 6-7 minute video. You can clearly the see the system and play he employed at Sporting especially when Mounts runs into the channel and crosses it.

It's what I expect. Results in the short term mean feck all compared to the ground work needed for long term success. Winning while not playing our best would be great though.

Just watched 7 mins of his first training session. He’s very vocal and loves to get involved in it. Love to see that.

100%, something different, but also not something obviously stupid (like Mazraoui AM or Casemiro alone in midfield or any of the other ETH classics)

Interesting watch.

Clear expectation on the team to SPRINT back en masse when they lose the ball… expected if you’re playing a front six in attacking phase.

Be interesting to see how quickly squad can get used to tactics… and what opponents do to try and defend it.

Roll on Sunday.

Good team that, quite fortunate to have a proper first teamer available in every outfield position during an international break.
And also a shocking indictment of where we are as a club. I was thinking this yesterday watching England. Not a single United player in the squad. I can’t remember that ever happening in my life time before.

Honestly nothing would shock me Sunday, but the most likely way we get a dodgy result is probably some shit finishing and then conceding a flukey set piece.

Honestly I'm not expecting much apart from being interested in how our players take to the new system. There will hardly be some coordinated pressing structure or drilled patterns in the final third.

Seeing the farewells Ruud received and the reactions to Amorim’s first session. I don’t think a substantial number of the lads rated Ten Hag, at all.

Anyway:
