Round of 16 | Switzerland vs Italy | Germany vs Denmark

Referees need to be given licence to use common sense and not a dumbass application of the rule
The spirit of the game thing just gets ignored. As you said they just don't show any common sense. Oh it hit his arm, all an attacker has to do is deliberately hit it at a defenders arm and hey presto they get a penalty. I don't think that what this attack was, but it can be that simple.

Ah well there it is.

But yes, I agree. They need to be more clinical cause they’ll not get all those chances in later stages
I didn' mean Denmark although the latter definitely could've done better. Spain or France won't be as forgving.

That yellow card for Ba (i think?)

It wasn't a good game and some calls were baffling, but I think he got the big decisions right. If anything they had some leeway on Germany's anulled goal (if they really had some intentions) and a VAR check for that foul on Sane maybe could have been in order. So the posts alleging some kind of bias seem a bit cringe to me.

For that Sane chance, not sure it's in the rules but the advantage was so good for Havertz that it kinda canceled it out

Anyone know why Wirtz has opted for a haircut straight out of a mid-90s Slavic trailer park?

Denmark are toothless upfront which says a lot given it’s 2 of our boys forming their attack

Same thing when Belligham plays but with less sense
It’s just all the ‘generational talent’ , ‘like he’s still on the playground’, ’playing with his friends’ stuff that grates me. They are just good players playing well. Not prime Messi, R9, Zidane etc, wait and see if they get to that level.

Füllkrug doing hid best to vindicate the manager so far. I don't think he has *not* given the ball away so far.

As a PL fans we should know better than to accuse Oliver of bias when in actuality he’s just not a very good referee. The penalty is harsh in the spirit of the game but in the rules of the game it is a penalty, even if it does seem pretty stupid.

They aren’t even teenage R9 or Messi, let alone the prime versions

They need to do away with offsides like this. Someone’s toenail being offside is nonsense.

Denmark have had a poor tournament.

4 games played, 2 goals scored.

Somehow white trash became the fashion haircut of this generation. Could it be because of Trump? I'm just guessing...

Got to draw the line somewhere. Wherever the line is, there are going to be offsides that are 1cm off or 1cm on.

Wenger wants away with them. That only full body offside would count. Hopefully comes to life
