Barney
"We're going to smash them (Crystal Palace)"
Signing a new contract along with Baines apparently.
True, he's just yet to step It up a notch and destroy the opposition. He consistently puts in good performances actually.
I think he'd be best served by staying there 2/3 years as a starter at the very least. He needs to be absolutely certain he'll be a starter at the big club he'll move to, rather than going down the Rodwell/Any Chelsea youth career path.I've read that he's mature and sensible for his age, that he puts his development as the priority at the moment. It seems he figures that's best done Everton at the moment. He's probably going to spend at least one more season there before maybe going on to a bigger club.

He looks like a great player. I don't think it's in the best interest for any young player to come to United at the moment, if they truly care about their careers that is. Certainly not attack minded, skilful players like Barkley, Moyes will retard their development.
"He is as good an English talent as we've seen and that's going to alert teams competing to win the Champions League, never mind the Premier League. He's got the potential to achieve what Bale did.
"You're talking about two to three years to fulfil that – that goal at Newcastle in midweek shows what he is. As well as the power, he has the control and the class.
"Once a player fulfils his potential and has done everything at a club, it's not positive for anyone to keep him because he's then not going to produce the kind of performance the team needs.
"The most impressive thing for me is his character. Nothing and no-one upsets him in a game, even if some opponents try to. We don't produce many players with that mental discipline, unfortunately. It's the biggest factor he has. I am reminded of [Andres] Iniesta and Xavi, players with that mentality and character.
"Ross has got everything to be as good as he wants. He is the perfect fit for Everton and the perfect fit for what we want to do in the future. We want to build the team around him.
"At the moment, he needs to keep playing at Everton and, hopefully, we can use his development to take the club forward so that we don't have to lose him. That's the next challenge for us."
I'm shocked he wasn't booked for that.
Surprised as well but I suppose the adrenaline, the weight of the encounter, being at home etc. and he showed his age there a bit.
Kind of thing that will get you sent off and I imagine Roberto reminded him of that, nice to see Baines give Mikel an earful as well. I thought the incident was not worth reacting to, tbh, but there's probably a history there as well
I don't know the player well enough but I can't see a reason why Ross would want to leave Everton & Martinez, regardless of what happens with the CL this season. He's a breakout star and a good deal of that credit has to go to his manager, no reason to leave. But then again, I don't have a clue what his ambitions are and whether that includes staying with Everton
Just don't be so sure that United, Barcelona et al can turn everyone's heads
If we signed him and no other midfielders Id be happy - he has the potential to be a fantastic player.
If Everton don't qualify for the CL I hope we chuck as much money as is needed to prise him away - He can play a couple of positions, has strength , skill can dribble can pass and as he gets older I can see him getting more and more goals - especially if breaking from a bit deeper (similar to lampard)
If Everton do qualift for the cl hopefully he will stay for a year and we can go after him the summer after with (fingers crossed) more CL football to offer him as well.
Potentially up there with the likes of Robson, Hoddle, Gascoigne, Scholes and Gerrard as one of the best central English midfielders I have seen
