Ross Barkley | Stays at Everton

I think it's quite possible Barkley will always be remembered as a guy who always had potential in his younger days but never really fulfilled it and/or got a move to a bigger club.

With Rooney, Klaasen and Everton's interest in Siggy, I think it's pretty much a guarantee that he'll leave Everton this summer.

I hope Chelsea spunk a massive wad of cash on him as he won't fit into that team and he would be an absolute waste of money.

Think we have spent enough on overrated Everton players for one summer

With Everton being charged 50 mil themselves, they might be a bit stubborn.

Well it's up to them, either sell him for £30million or so now or have him leave for nothing at the end of the season.

I'll be gutted if he does leave. He played on the right all last season anyway so the Klassan and Rooney signings shouldn't matter.

Hes crazy to leave Everton with their cash injection. Hes not good enough to be a regular in a top 4 team

If he came to a top 4 team he'd have to accept a totally different role compared to the one he's now got. I think he's a good and capable player, I just can't see how we would be able to build anything around him. In Manchester United he'd be a back up player or a wide man in attack. I like his accuracy with his amazing shot. He's also energetic and likes to fight on the field. That said he's got so much work to do to reach the quality needed in vision and speed/accuracy in pass etc. I think he'll need to grow at least another year.

And Dele Alli is just a Waitrose Pirlo. Some high quality touches but never ever going to be a TK Max.

Alli and Pirlo are completely different players. The former is barely a midfielder and more of a second striker half the time.

Barkley needs Pocchettino; Mourinho or Pep wouldn't develop him accordingly, while Wenger's record with Young British talent is woeful.(Ramsey must regret declining United massively)

I see him eventually replacing Dembele as a more orthodox box to box midfielder.

I don't think Everton fans want him there. I was reading a few Everton fan twitter pages yesterday to see what they thought about Rooney, and Barkley kept popping up, for example:

Which was retweeted by @EvertonArentWe, another big Everton fan account.

To be fair he is vastly overrated simply because he's English. He'd do well to stay and make it at Everton, especially considering the positive direction they're heading.

What?

Ignoring the Pirlo comparison, you think TK Maxx is more upmarket than Waitrose??!
But that's what I'm talking about, TK Max is a beast and a market (read: midfield) dominator, a great resource at squeaky bum time (Christmas) and covers a lot more ground space. Waitrose is a fancy little bitch who'll let you down come big parts of the seasons.

Well he wants to leave to step up, hence why he refused to sign the contract offer, but who seriously from a club bigger than Everton is going to take him for 50m. No way i see him going to Swansea, though it would be a situation created by his own doing if Everton try to force him to accommodate Sigurdsson.

Thinks he's a lot better than he isn't. Hasn't proven himself to be a £50m player capable of playing above Everton's level, infact with the injection of money they've got he could well find his place there under threat in the next season or two let alone at a Chelsea/Spurs/United.

Everton would improve if they somehow managed to feck Barkley off and signed Sigurdsson in his place, a player who's far more consistent, more productive and isn't a moron.

Competition/cover ... not just for Alli and Eriksen, but also for Dembele and Winks in the CM role.
Not the right profile of player for that purpose. Barkley is in the same age group as Alli and Eriksen, lower level and even more prone to inconsistency than the two. He'll provide negligible competition and horrible cover. Central midfield? You'll be out of top four if you play him five games there..

Better to go for a more experienced player. Nolito for Sterling/Sane at City is a good example, or Perisic for Martial if we get him. Forget Barkley, if anything he might have to move down a level next season to Stoke or West Ham etc.

If Spurs bid officially bid for him - and that's an IF - then it means Pochettino wants him. And if he wants him then I'd have confidence in his ability to improve Barkley significantly: coaching is one of his strongest attributes.

Not going to happen. If they wanted 75 rising to 90 with add ons for lukaku then theyre not going to take 30m for barkley.

If he doesn't sign a new contract, they lose him for nothing next summer. £30m is a lot better than nothing.

Theyre not stupid, they know they can get more than 30 mil. City offered them more than that a season or two ago.

That's when his stock was higher. He was labelled as the next big thing and played his part in Everton finishing 5th.

Now he's out of favour and the manager isn't his biggest fan.

Why would we want Barkley? In my opinion, Mata is miles more talented and.....we already own him. Why sell Mata, then pay close to £50m and get a inferior product. No thanks

I think he has a ton of talent but he has totally stalled in terms of development. Im also not sure if Koeman is the right man for continuing his development at this stage and he is gonna be under some fierce pressure for his place this season.

So perisic is 45mil and dier is 60mil but barkley is 30? so barkley is only half as marketable as dier? not. Going. To. Happen.

Well, we'll see I guess. They won't get it from us ... and I'm not sure what more attractive options than Spurs might be available to Barkley.

West Ham? Would have thought that'd be a decent stage for him - they're crying out for creative attacking players.
