He obviously feels it would be better for his career to play at a club that is not Chelsea. Looks very likely somebody had a word in his ear about a likely move in January to a club he really wants.

So he should have thought about that before wasting everyone's time? For it to have gone that far suggests' he was willing to go to Chelsea. If he wasn't sure he should have said so before. He wasted another club's time when they could have put their energy into another deal.

It's probably got to do with the 726 players they have out on loan currently. Too much for the front office to handle.

This window was fecking hilarious and we have Chelsea to thank.

First they sell Matic to a direct title rival and then get rejected by around 350 different players in the space of 48 hours only to end up spending what they got for Matic on a much inferior player.
