Don't think rivals think he's poor but don't think they're running scared either. Lukaku is very good PL striker who scores goals. So was Ibra. My genuine question is whether United are going to be too easy to frustrate like chunks of last season. Does Lukaku change things?

Why would any team run scared of any player? Especially PL players.

that was a good goal and damn near scored a beauty of a second too, I'm sure the woodwork was shaking for minutes

That first goal has excited me more than it probably should have. I just didn't think he had that in him, and to make it look so easy!

Hopefully good times from him next season!

For those who doubted, and those who still doubt, I assure you, this is just the beginning. This guy will destroy teams.

He is no flash in the pan at all. If you have been following Romelu's career since he was a kid in Belgium, you will know that he just got served the right platform for his incredible goalscoring talent.

What I like most about him is his arrogant, 'I-deserve-to-mix-with-only-the-very-best' attitude. The kid is hungry. He is ambitious. He wants to prove he is one of the top dogs in world football. Watch him grab his opportunity as if his life depends on it.

The downside here is that if United don't meet up to his ambition, he will be off to one of the top teams in Europe sooner than you can pronounce R-o-m-e-l-u.

Feck sake, his first touch is infectious.

Forget about the touch. Forget about the goal. The real insight provider is what he did after the goal.

"Louder, I can't hear you. Shout my name. I'm just getting all warmed up. I'm going to bang in more goals. You hear me?"

Attitude.

I like players with that kind of arrogant like attitude. They are extremely difficult to handle by opposition teams. It's like what you see in a Ronaldo or Alexis.

He is such a beast, look at him, unstoppable physically and has the pace to outrun defenders, coupled with a good shot.

2nd goal in a row for United when he dribbles past keeper with absolute no problems with maneuverability or technique whatsoever.

Quality player and a brick shithouse of a man. Very excited about him leading our attack for years to come.

I was genuinely took by surprise when I a) saw him take that first time and b) it went in ... lovely goal.

People say that he'll simply replace Ibra's goals but he's a lot quicker than Ibra so, we'll be a lot better on the counter with him in the team. Last season we were forced to dominate possession at home because the focal point of our attack was 35 year old.

German commentators were stunned about his physique. Looks even more like a "beast" than the last years.

Certainly looking that way. The guy is just class. The rivals are all pretending he's shite but it actually looks like they know he's a damn good player and are running scared.

He's awesome, the whole Saga turned into a case of either being on the Morata or Lukaku side without realising there actually both really good young options with the potential to get a lot better.

I think teams will struggle to defend against him because if they hold a high line then he has the pace and power to get in behind, if they drop deep then he has the height and power to out muscle them. Obviously for both he will need decent service but he also has the ability to turn and run if they get too tight. The other thing that i like is that once he has made his pass his first thought is to get into the box and when others shoot he anticipates the rebound from a keeper spill.

He's already has more to his game then I realised, I hardly ever watch any Everton games but from the games so far and game highlights I have seen since, his touch and hold up is much better then i had thought even though I didn't think it was as bad as people made out. It can be clumsy at times, I would say more inconsistent then bad sometimes it's the more simpler touch that is a bit heavy, maybe doesn't give it enough due care and attention it should have.

I think this guy is close to jose, i might be getting names mixed up though.

I wasn't actually being serious lads! To be honest, it's actually more United fans that are making him out to be some sort of donkey (well the agenda driven bunch on here, anyway). But, I will say that I've read some oppo fans having laughable digs about him being useless (not on here, well maybe on here, but definitely other corners of the internet).

I think both him and Morata will be good fits for their clubs and will go on to be good value for money.

Not from our main striker, we didn't.
Our main striker was the most guilty when it came to wasting clear cut chances.

People will talk about the number of goals he scored which is an alright return(nothing amazing like some want to claim) but given the amount of chances we created last year especially for Ibra, he had no excuses to not score which is why his return isn't amazing but alright.

Well he scored near 30 but we arguably still missed goals from him. He could've scored a lot more. I get your point though, and obviously I'm not expecting Lukaku to score more.
I'm actually expecting Lukaku to score more. He's more clinical than Ibra and a terrific striker.

He won't drop his levels at United. Can't afford to. If he keeps getting chances every game, which he will, why can't he keep scoring?
Exactly this. He lacked competition and more importantly motivation at Everton. His job was only ever to score goals there, but with us it's to score, win and earn trophies.

People like Pogba will not let him relax, and I honestly think he will go on to have the best season he's ever had.

IF we can service him properly he can hit 30 league goals easily IMO, we know he can score 3/4 goals in 1 match when in the mood, it's just making sure he can score frequently rather than in patches.

I was fairly impressed with his build up play against City. Quite good. Kept the ball most times, good target, good decision making, good control, could keep the ball or play quickly. If he play like that when the going gets going in the PL, I'm not too worried.

Sweet. Hadn't seen that before. This bit is music to my ears (eyes?)

'His workrate is amazing. He is determined to sharpen up what he is already outstanding at. There were times I’d have to drag him off the training ground. He would take a sack of balls and practise finishing or running with the ball and shooting. Some players don’t work at what they are already good at. He does not get bored in the quest for perfection.’

Who gives a feck about his first touch, he made a very difficult finish look easy. Will score a sack load for us.
That's all that matters but you will find someone who will moan about something. I'm happy we bought him, he and Pogba seem to be happy, he scored already 2 good goals, seems to be part of the team and shows other qualities not he pitch as well. What more do you want?

He was pretty good but we need to use his pace more often.

We knew we would goals, that was never in doubt.

What has really impressed me is how comfy he is with the players around him. Helps they are all good characters but the link up play were seeing is great. Whether its Rashford, Lingard, Mkhi or Martial, hes done well with them all (and of course somebody to run onto those Pogba passes and score).

He's not as talented as Ibrahimovic but I'm starting to think that he's a better fit to be honest. I didn't want him here initially but I'm starting to get a good feeling about this transfer like.
I don't think we used Ibra to his best last season, utilized as a goalscorer but not much more. I'm not particularly displeased because he's not the easiest to build around and add in his age and length of contract it was never more than a short term option. I have reservations about Lukaku but he could be a proper monster under Mourinho.

That was a good finish, just saw the goal. He's as reliable as it gets for scoring goals.

Last season when ibra got injured when rashford was playing as CF we utilised his pace and started putting balls beyond defenses with lukaku in the team we can use him both ways as a target man to hold up play and bring others into game and other way like we used rashford last season apart from his physical attributes he has pace to beat most PL defenders. The goal against city is a perfect example of it. With his desire to become best and word harder in more ways he will turn out to be a good signing :)

Lads, Mou knows how to use this type of strikers to their max potential. He wins trophies with this scheme. Thats all it matters to me

The finish for the disallowed goal was also a proper striker's finish. Drilled low and hard into the bottom corner. This guy knows how to shoot a football. Needs to stay focused now.
