this coming from someone who wouldn't hear a word against morataHe seems a lot better player than we gave him credit for whilst playing for Everton.
Haven't seen Benfica much outside Europe but I found him to be pretty wild there with these kinds of runs out of goal, dribbling past players etc.

Not gonna analyze the performance given the context of pre season, just repeat the obvious. The guy has natural goal scorer's instinct: feel for the space, finishing technique (quick release), envision his shooting.... Won't expect him to step up his game to another level in near future, but hope he does what he does best from the get go for us.
More motivated, Mental ego boost, better players providing better service, more experience.... If each of those factors improves by at least 10% each we might have just signed a goal scoring monster.
Feels like right player at right club with right needs at the right time.
Drags defenses which zlatan couldnt do due to his pace. Movement is great, i think he is still holding a lot back, yet to see him dominate in the air but his hold up play is fantastic and his finishing looks great too, had that shot gone in, it would have been a 10/10 performance, lovely to see him score also even when jones was called offside he still scored that is what you like, Striker hitting back of net. Fantastic.

Good finish but I don't really care much about pre-season goals.
His link up play was on point and that's what makes me happy. It can be difficult for players coming into the team. He seems to be on the same page with a few players already. I guess this is one of the advantages of buying player so from your own league, that they are probably more aware of their teammates right from get go.

Overall he was very good. His link up, one touch passing was very good. Scored a superb goal, rattled the post and a goal disallowed (which looked onside). Overall he is looking good and playing well as a team.
Excellent today. Fantastic goal but his movement, strength, and link up play were all great too. Can't wait to see more from him this season

He's been severely underrated on here by a-lot of people. Anyone who's followed his career closely would have seen that his overall game has improved immensely over the past 2/3 years. He's now more of a team player who can bring others into the game and his holdup play is pretty good at times. It's also worth noting that he has 12 assists in the PL over the past 2 seasons which has often been overlooked on here. Fabulous player that some just can't seem to take to, for some bizarre reason.
