I'm shocked that a player like Mahrez has been available all summer and there's been no real interest from the top clubs.

Could end up being one of the best 'panic buys' for somebody like Arsenal.

It's not happening but still he's a fecking joy to watch at times.
 
Good player, but fades away around the 70th minute of games. Wouldn't be much of a concern for us as we would a number of decent players to replace him from the bench. Can't see it happening at all.

You actually think the Glazers know that much about players? Give over. If you showed them a picture of Mahrez and Greizmann, I bet they wouldn't have a clue who they were.

I posted this in the transfer tweets thread and i think this could be a solution.

Common sense and i am sure Mourinho must be thinking this way. Get Mahrez now, after one season.. bin Ibrahimovic and Mata which is likely cause he doesn't ever play him 90 minutes. Get Griezman for 10 position with miki as sub option. Martial, Griezman, Mahrez and Lukaku. Attack for 2018/2019.
 
For the people saying he's not worth it, here's some arguments:

- He's a PL winner, playing at Leicester, and have won the best pl player of the title winning year.
- He maybe spineless in the eyes of some here (spineless meaning doesn't work hard, doesn't fight ... not my definition), but we don't want someone who work hard, we have AV for that on the right, and we have a solid midfield, we want creativity, we want someone that stays up and that can deliver the pass that no one in our team bar Pogba and Mkhi can with his precision and ease. and frankly, we should aspire to control games from the 1st minute to the 90iest, there's no need for someone good in defense + we have lingard for that.
- We have a right back that can't cross, and two similar option on the right (Mata and Mkhi who plays more 10). so we have no one with his profile on the RW position.
- He would be lethal with Martial on the left and Mkhi in the center and Lukaku. So much pace and technique.
- He would cost around 40m£ when Evans is going for 25M, Sakho for 30M£, Monaco refused 80M£ for Lemar, Bolasie, at 27, went to everton for 30M£ last year, when the market wasn't as enflammed as this year and most of all, Coutinho is apparently going for 150M£ o_O. Hell, we bought Lindelof for 31M£ .....
- He is 26, the perfect age, even if it doesn't work, we would recoup most of the fee selling him in a year or two.
- He would be an upgrade on the RW position, he's better than anyone we have on that side.
- For people saying they prefer Griezmann, they don't play in the same position!

For people saying he has a purple patch. look at Mkhi, he had one good season when we bought him, a season similar to Mahrez' title one in term of assists, player of the year and all. look at him last year, and look at the start of the season he's having.

He makes too much sense for us to sign him, so we probably won't sign him.

He's had one decent season. One. Like everybody I pretty much enjoyed watching him destroy everybody on that form but there's nothing to suggest that it was anything other than a purple patch that he hit. With all that in mind, I wouldn't mind him here if it came for a decent price.

I think that position is already filled in principle, just not happened this season has I believe Jose is always thinking 12 months in front and already said that's the case....

Like Mkhi had one "decent" season. the one before coming to us. why aren't we underrating him here ?

Odd enough. I can't wrap myself why someone wouldn't want POY from 2 years ago who has numerous prime years left to offer.

And I think you're at a misunderstanding. Mahrez is definitely the furthest thing from being a slouch as you make him out to be.
 
Can't see this happening, but I would be absolutely delighted if it did. He's a clear upgrade on Mata and/or Mkhitaryan on the right wing, and a proven match winner in the Premier League. Plus, given that it seems likely we'll be playing a three behind the striker for the most part this season, we're short in numbers when it comes to good options there as well.
 
I've seen people suggest he has pace and he provides width.
Most of the time I watch him, he drifts around and he's not really quick.
I'd say Mkhi is faster.

Because Miki had a great season in Ukrainian league too, Mahrez never really lit shit up in either Ligue 2 nor Campionship, and even in his first season for us (new league and all that), he's still had a better season than Mahrez's last season.

Plus Mahrez, just like 90% of the Leicester squad, is rightfully so, accused of downing their tools after winning the EPL.
 
I wouldn't say no to him. The guy can cause serious damage when on form. A traditional winger as well.
 
If we really serious about challenging this season then signing Mahrez is no brainer, otherwise, I think we'll fall short as season goes on. For me he has one main attribute that we are lacking superb crossing ability. He's capable of wiping in some absolute peaches.
 
I would like a signing before the window shuts, don't care too much wether it's Marhez, Perisic, Sanchez, Bale, Willian, Draxler, Moura, or Griezmann, don't even care how much we pay in fees or wages, the only thing I want to know is that Jose wants him.

Yes please. We all love Mata but Mahrez would be an upgrade at RW. His pace and crossing ability would improve us.

Mahrez would take a while to get going here I reckon and by the time he would start to hit form everyone would be pining for Griezmann anyway.
 
He doesn't seem to have express pace but his trickery and dribbling skills will open up defences and I think we lack a bit of creativity.

Is the rumored fee £45m? Wouldn't perisic be gettable at that fee?

Just so sad that Mata is such a likeable person, don't really want us to sell him.
 
I'm not a fan. I just worry next season, we'll be shouting for an upgrade on Mahrez.

He is way too flaky. He most likely had a purple patch season where everything went for him.
 
I think we'd have to pay £50m+ to get him but he would give our right side some much needed pace and creativity.

His dribbling and ability to make and find space is something we desperately lack. This is a no brainer.

or play how we normally been playing and just swap him out for mata like you have done here anyway
 
We have people turning their nose up at Mahrez, yet we have absolutely nothing coming in from the right. It's like we are playing with 10 men every game.

I would feel bad letting Mata go as well, but its about time we field an actual winger in the squad. The only thing coming in from the right are Valencia's crosses and the less said about those are the better Ill feel.
