Why are we even talking about him? Have we been linked? I am confused because the thread normally bumps when we have some news or rumoured news
Firstly this guy is grossly over rated and we were right to pass on him especially at that price. He's a Jorge mendes client so being over rated is par for the course. Once again with Jorge mendes clients any link to united can be ignored because that's his modus operandi. When he wants to transfer or raise the profile of a client, first club he links them to is us. Im not sure what's his play here, probably want to get renato a loan somewhere.

He's young, learning and would be serving an apprenticeship at United. Just as he's doing t Bayern. Second seasons are generally difficult for young players. All I remember is him impressing during Euros with his energy and running with the ball.

I'd be very careful of buying players of Bayern. A very well run club who don't generally make a mistake selling.

Toni Kroos was in the last year of his contract, they never wanted to sell him, but also didnt want to give him the money he wanted. They knew they would make a mistake, but what can you do if you dont think he was worth the money he wanted at that time. They sold him in the end, was quite underrated and in hindsight probably would have payed what he wanted

What I'm saying is that he was the decisive factor, when he entered the team, playing #8 (and that's why we don't need him), that made Benfica enter an incredible run of winning games. Anybody who followed that championship knows that.

You paid €35 million, for him IIRC (with more based on performance bonuses). His fee therefore should not be more than that imo.

35 euros is for an 18 year old with the ability to turn him into a home grown player in 3 years. That's easily worth 5 to 8 million. He hasn't improved in the year since either so price should actually be lower. 25 euros with add ons is probably fair. His problem is for all his love for dribbling he doesn't have good acceleration. His through balls also are not the best. Of course midfielders mature closer to 25 so don't see the hurry to buy him anyway. Lets not bail bayern out.

For 35m euro, I'd take a chance. He's still young and Jose was a bit late to get him last summer.
A loan with an option to buy at the end of the season. I dont know if we should take the risk, we need to spend the money on a DM and other positions, rather than box to box midfielder. But he is promising.

i think he looked really good last year. I haven't been following him since but he was very powerful and raw. If he could refine his game a little I reckon he'd be special.

If he's available for €30 he would be able to back up Pogba & Herrera. Jose would love his physicality, and I think we could develop him into something special... We are in greater need of a couple of regular goal scorers, but he'd be a good squad option with an eye on the future.
If bayern can spare him, he should be sent to the Monaco finishing school to fill in for bakayoko.

I wouldn't want us to spend £30m on him. Obviously we don't really loan in players but a loan with option to buy would be a good option. Ultimately if José thinks he's the player for us, he's worth what he would pay.
I think this guy is one of those super talented players you take a risk for. If he's available we should put our hands in our pockets. Him and Pogba with an anchor in a midfield 3, that has huge potential.
We should be all over this, if there is an option to buy I don't understand why people wouldn't want him. We need to bring in new CM's, Fellaini potentially leaving and Carrick coming to an end. Him and Fabihno could sort us out for years. It hasn't been a good season for him at Bayern, the talent is there. I was impressed by him at the Euro's last year, not a huge risk in my opinion.
It's a bit concerning that a great coach like Ancelotti couldn't develop him but he might still be worth taking a chance on. It's possible that Sanches might benefit more from playing under a Portuguese coach. We also do need more CMs for depth. A loan with option to buy would be perfect but I doubt Bayern would agree to that.
Do not want, he's like the midfield Lukaku
That was pretty much my impression of him on limited viewing last season. His control and touch just looked really poor/awkward for a midfielder. No idea how he's done at Bayern though.
