Mesa is a 'classic 8'. Breaks up attacks, then drives forward. Clucas could be decent, but it looks like we haven't a clue what to do with either, yet.

You can play Mesa and Sanches together in a 4231 and I think you'll be fine.

I wouldn't make a too hasty judgement. It's true that Sanches wasn't good enough for Bayern till now, but let's not forget that he played just one full saison before he moved to Munich, a league that's weaker than the Bundesliga. He had to compete with Thiago, Vidal, Alonso (last season) and Kimmich (RB this season).. Moving to Bayern was not a smart choice, it was too early. Furthermore, keep in mind that Carlo is a coach who prefers experienced players. Right now Sanches needs playing time and Swansea is a not a bad choice getting it.

Don't think it's a bad move for him at all - he'll be playing regularly in a competitive league getting good experience, the league should suit his biggest strengths (arguably his athletic and physical ability) and he's worked with Clement before.

Has lost his way a bit, but still very young, maybe playing under Clement at Swansea - that might well have swung the deal - will help get back on track. Good short-term replacement potentially for Sigurdsson anyway.
