Gaming Red Dead Redemption 2 (PC, PS4, Xbox One, Stadia)

Me too but I carried on drinking anyway. Worth it for the shock value. Then I went back and killed both and looted everything

I went back killed the woman but the fat guy wouldn’t die, put him down twice and he got back up and killed me. I’ve gone back to the house again and he’s not there and I have no money. :(

EDIT: Just found the cash behind a picture.

Went for the 'ultimate edition' on the Xbox.

90GB takes a while to download so I'm just sat here patiently waiting.

I do sometimes miss the old days when you could just buy a game, put it in, and you know, it just works.

Anyway, looking forward to getting started! :D

I honestly think I could play this game without the story, the world is so rich.

Found a cabin at night with 4 raiders inside, drunk and talking. Hid outside for 5 minutes listening to them have a hilarious conversation about farts, the snuck in when they fell asleep to steal some money and a double action revolver.

Any other game and that cabin in the woods is just a backdrop.

Chapter 2 is when fishing is unlocked, I believe.

The honour bar lets you get discount on items. Some items are locked if you don’t have enough honour. Which happened to me even though I have 100k.
100k!! I still do not know what to do with the money. I guess I'll find out later but except clothes and a good horse I think I don't need anything else.

100k

I'm grinding out $300 here and there. It seems fitting that I should do this before becoming rich though.

Just upgraded everyone's lodgings. Doesn't look any different? Is it instant?

Dropped a tied up guy next to an alligator and it bit him right on the bonce. Good times all round.

That was nice but I also remember the games where it took ages to read/load the dvd in between worlds etc.. :wenger: fecking anoying back then

I think so, it seems a bit pointless other than the fast travel for Arthur. I was expecting a much better looking camp when I finished all the upgrades, but there's basically no difference

Are there cheats for this? I always like one saved game to do the missions unaided and one with cheats you can do to have as much fun as possible

I'm getting a bit fed up with it. The bounty system is really annoying when the game slaps a massive bounty on you after a story mission, then you're trying to do missions but they keep getting locked because bounty hunters are near, you ride away and return to the area to wait for it to unlock again, only for more bounty hunters to turn up. Between the crime/psychic guards and annoyances with the controls it's become a chore to play in spite of how much I was enjoying it.

It's very wildly between excellent and tedious for me.

Think I am going to wait for PS5 to be released before I get this game. Didn't buy the PS4 and it feels stupid to buy one now just to play this game. Hope i'm not in for a very long wait, I want to get lost in this game right about now.

Anyone having problems getting the saddle off of their dead horse? I'm walking upto mine and holding up on the d pad and nothing happens!

Yeah, seems a bit daft it didn't improve more aesthetically.

Are you a PC gamer?

There are tons of games to play on the PS4 without Red Dead like Spider-Man, GOW, Horizon, Bloodborne and a lot of others that I forgetten. Wouldn’t surprise me if the standard hits £200 with games this Black Friday and Xmas.

Rode up North East on someone’s recommendation here and I got attacked by a gang of rednecks. They killed my horse and eventually me. Respawned with that generic horse and carried on North til deciding to camp for the night, but as I went off the road to find a spot I heard talking and stumbled across them talking outside a cave. Slid down the hill and took them out before realising this must be their hideout  Wiped out the entire cave.

Also found a treasure map and figured it out. Got a gold bar which sold for $300 at the fence! New horse methinks.

Oh also it is very pretty that part of the map. I went to the top of the waterfall and explored round there.

I thought gold bars were worth $500? Or do they vary?

And somehow won, right? Was baffled meself.
Nope, lost! I figured it was a tutorial and I still couldn't make sense of it. Checked the help menu and there was what looked like a thesis on dominoes and thought "Feck that".

Where in tarnation is liars dice? That was a brilliant mini-game.

I'm not really a big gamer and is still on the ps3. Thanks, I'll be on the lookout for the package deals on Black Friday.

They are 500 when sold at the Fence in Rhode anyway. I didn’t bother going to Saint Denis with Rhode closer to Valentine. I’ve just been told to go to Emerald Ranch to meet someone, so will unlock that fence shop shortly

I read that. Still hadn't a clue. Same with Mahjong in the Yakuza games. Just sticking with black jack and texas hold em.

Think you can get different sized gold bars/ingots. I remember I sold a small one for $300 and a normal one for $500.

Edit: @DatIrishFella Fecking Yakuza and Mahjong. And the rest of those crazy games in the homeless casino in the park.

It feels so organic the way some missions come up. Doesn’t feel like you’re pushed in any direction at all. Just went back to camp, decided to play poker and during the game Pearson asked if I could find him a compass. Meanwhile in the background two of the guys were playfighting with a hot poker

If its anything like the first, certain materials and skins are worth more where not readily available. For example, bear skins were worth more in mexico in the first red dead than they were in blackwater
Hmm, this is a fair point I didn't think about. Will be interesting to see if it's the same in this game.

It's a bit annoying getting a perfect pelt, going to the trapper to sell it to him then trying to find what exactly you can make. It gives you all the options of stuff you can't make, fair enough, it gives you the recipes for them. But it'd be nice to have a little section listing all the things you could currently craft with whatever you've just sold him/previous legendary pelts etc. Would save you flicking through everything.

Edit: Another really useful thing to be able to do is hook a wagon/wooden trailer to your horse which then allows multiple large pelts to be transported instead of just having space for 1 on the back - the distances between the trappers can be huge so it'd be very helpful. Just a thought, I know they'll never implement it though.

Some drunk bloke in the Valentine saloon started on me for no reason. He was a wearing Racoon as a hat (which of course I picked up after the fight). The sheriff then came in the bar, told us to hurry up with the fight, then when I won, he told me to get outta town.

Some cool things I noticed...

- I robbed a store and shot the guys leg off. I came back days later and he actually had a wooden peg leg in the place where his actual leg used to be. How detailed is that?!
- Different animation for mounting a horse on a steep incline
- Shot someone on a wooden surface. Many days later when the body was removed the blood still stained the wood.
- Shot a farmer who was shooting at me. I placed his body into the hog enclosure and all the hogs fed on his body.

That is amazing, the small touches I love. I'm really looking forward to getting this game.

Dunno. I sold it to the fence in Van Horn.

I just sold one for $300 in Rhodes. Must be different sizes like @Shane88 said.

If you have a second/third horse you can whistle them to follow and use them for extra carrying space.

I fought him, didn't pick his hat up though :( was too busy cos as soon as I knocked him out a crime was reported and they were after me FFS. He was hard as nails! Took ages to knock down.

I sorta can't wait to finish this then just free roam once I've got everything I need .

I feel I've asked this before, but would I face difficulties in playing this and Bloodborne together ?

So Seabreeze 2.0 was doing fine until I decided to go get the train from Valentine to St Denis. I left Seabreeze on the platform and bought my ticket. Next thing I know the train is pulling into the station and she just walks right infront of it.

Seabreeze 2.0 is gone, and I don't have enough money for v3.0. Quite annoyed, had to steal some scabby fecker who...to be honest, I've grown quite attached to, he's survived multiple falls down cliff faces with me, so he's a hardy bastard.

I have a bit of a gripe with the Javier mission outside Blackwater, I was trotting over the plains to get to the mission symbol, then it turned to a locked position - meaning I had to come back at a later date. So I just trot off to try and lasso some pronghorns, but because you're wanted dead or alive in that area already, I was ambushed by a lynch mob. 20 minutes later, 12 murder charges and a $297 bounty later...I can't afford it...not for a long time. feck sake.

Now I need to pay that and get Seabreeze v3.0

There's a treasure hunt mission that lets you pick up $2000 fairly easily.

Man my ardennes horse somehow got itself killed while I was on a train doing a mission.
Then spent half an hour up at lake Isabella only to be bucked off the white Arabian. Then it goes and disappears.
Something to remember up in the mountains, wear warmer clothes.

I kept seeing people say to check chimneys because money gets hidden there so I spent ages trying to climb on top of buildings to check, then did a mission showing you that it's the fireplace bit

Yeah, since I posted that I have completed that treasure hunt (the poisonous trails one). Although I may have frittered a lot of it away on needless shit like a badass looking revolver, upgrading camp, and trying to make my saddle look cool.
