Real Madrid's Ronaldo replacement

But in all honesty, with the current state of PSG team and the pending FFP investigation, selling Neymar for €300+ millions would solve all of their problems while also allowing them to significantly strenghten the team if they then use the money on Hazard, Kante, Alex Sandro and someone like say Weigl. Realistically they could pull all of that off. But probably not without selling Neymar(or Mbappé)

I’m guessing both Mbappe and Neymar are unatainable, so I’ll put my money on Hazard and Lewandowski. Unless of course they’re willing to pay Spurs £250m for Kane.

A front line of:
Lewa
Hazard Isco Bale

will do just fine supplied by Modric and Kroos. Obviously they lose some “star quality”, but noone outside of Messi and Neymar can really replace it.

The thing is, whoever they replace him with is going to have a ridiculously hard time from the fans and the media as they are surely not going to be able to immediately hit the heights Ronaldo did at Real.

One player may not be enough.

No fans will be expecting any player to hit the highs Ronaldo did in Madrid, those aren't the expectations. There will be lots of pressure because it's Real Madrid and there's always pressure but it won't be anything different from other signings.

Fair enough, but I remember that these are the same fans that booed Ronaldo.

I mean, it's great to have high expectations, but I still do think whoever they replace Ronaldo with is going to have to hit the ground running or he (and Florentino) will be criticised heavily.

Isn't Lewa dead in the water now? None of the players mentioned are in teams that Real can bully. They will struggle badly to replace him, gonna cost a fortune.

Whoever they buy - and there’s no doubt they’ll bring someone in - I’m pretty sure it won’t be the current version of Antonio Valencia. I’m guessing their approach to replacing Ronaldo will be slightly different than ours was.

Kane is a loyal bastard. No chance.

Should be Hazard now, as Mbappe is a national treasure for France.

They should sign Gaitan, I heard the lad is very good. I mean We've been linked to him for like 70 times. Proper number 7.

@Keeps It tidy might have something to say about this

I think it will be two players. Hazard plus someone else. They'll change the system to cater for teamplay rather than feeding Ronaldo

I think they are going to sign Hazard or Neymar to play as a LW and a striker instead of Benzema for the first eleven.

They need a goalscorer now that Ronaldo is gone.

Next summer, I can see Madrid selling Bale and signing Salah or Mbappe.

Cant believe they managed to get €100million for him. Great bit if business by Real.

Agree with this. They should try to get Hazard and Kane this summer. Kane has just signed a new contract but this is Madrid so anything can happen.

I can't see Real Madrid signing Neymar. No way PSG would let him leave. Mbappe on the other hand....

I think they'll sign Mbappe and/or Hazard.

I think we'll see a change in formation personally. Expect them to go 4231 instead of the 433 they were running last year. Allows Isco and Asensio more opportunities to push for a place in the first team.

More intrigued with what will happen with Benzema now. Think he could be really useful if they change to a more possession based system.

Real will change the system to more possession based approach that is a certain with Lopetegui as a coach. To be honest i dont think that Benzema and even Bale will fit in. Napoli are ready to spend 40 milion for Benzema, and Bale is still an option for United... If they change the entire BBC in one window it will be a bold move but the right one if they really want to start a new chapter.

300m on Neymar would again destroy the transfer market.

If Real manage to snap up De Bruyne and Mbappe, the rest of the teams can bid farewell to the Champions League for a fair bit.

I think Neymar is just perfect for there main guy. However getting him off PSG will be too hard. If he does go, I can see one Martial being PSG’s main target. I just hope we don’t get left with Willian after this big merry go round.

Hazard and Neymar, front three of along with Bale would be brilliant. But I doubt they would get hands on Neymar.

I think Madrid will decline, we are talking about losing Ronaldo, player who was top scorer in CL for 6 seasons in a row, who very much turned the games in an instant.

Hard to replace him, at lease his numbers. Don't think they will get Neymar or Mbappe unless PSG are forced to sell because of FFP which I don't see happening.

Then there is Hazard who is more realistic target, he is superb player but won't score anywhere near enough. I think they will sign Hazard this season.

I actually think that it's the right moment to sell him and get something from him. This season they scored 94 goals in the league, it's not a good figure when you have Ronaldo, they need to move away from that "single route" mentality and build an actual team that serves most of their excellent players. I wouldn't be surprised if Isco, Bale, Asensio and the additions shine without Ronaldo. In a way, I see it like Van Nistelrooy leaving United and making room for Rooney, Ronaldo or Tevez.

Probably won't win the league next year either

Neymar. He never wanted to join PSG and it was a mere stop gap between Barca and Madrid. They have already reinvested the money in Mbappe and selling to RM completes the circle as regards FFP. If it somehow falls apart then Hazard but could see them signing both.

That's a good point but I can see few players under performing too. Ronaldo's movement is superb and makes it easier for others to pass the ball, players like Marcelo, Carvajal can just cross the ball and hope that Ronaldo will get it, in most cases he will because of his movement and incredible leap.

What you said is logical but I don't see it happening.

Hazard seems the most available and is arguably the better player out of him, Mpabbé and Neymar right now. Hard to see past him.

Neymar to Real to replace Ronaldo, Hazard to PSG to replace Neymar, Higuain to Chelsea to replace Hazard to balance the books from Ronaldo to Juve.

The talk of finding a player to replace Ronaldo's 50 goals is pretty disingenuous. It's about the whole attack. Benzema scored 15 goals last season. Get a forward who scores 30/35 in his place, the whole team chipping in with 5-10 goals extra and suddenly your 'Ronaldo replacement signing' will only need 25-30 goals a season to make up the number. Very manageable.

What they'd miss is his edge in some big games, but in that department the only run to a trophy where he was crucial in that regard was 2017. Last year they still won despite him being anonymous in both legs of the semi and the final. They should bust the bank for both Hazard and Kane, and a few years down the line when Kane starts to decline entice Mbappe when he enters his prime.

Regardless of who they sign, I think they'll need another centre forward to have any chance of replacing the amount of goals Ronaldo brought.

Hazard is most likely but I think he's more likely a 15 goals a season man. Need a 30-goal prime striker if they want to stay anywhere near current level.

hazard is probably the one they could get.

Neymar, Mbappe and Kane wont be moving
