Real Madrid's Ronaldo replacement

Maybe I am a fan too spoilt but I am bit disappointed, although there is still summer,I had imagined a summer like 2009.
A new project for several years. What a better time than now. They have made an unparalleled record in Champions, the coach is leaving, the idol is gone, so I had assumed that we would start from scratch.
I have to admit I had imagined at least Neymar / Kane / Mbappé + Hazard.
My faith in Florentino and Twitter ITK's with 1000 followers created a paradise in my head.
During these years I had the doubt of whether Madrid did not sign for conservatism, because they did not need it or a question of money so this summer was a test of the possibilities.
What is clear today is that they can not compete and that the transfer + gross salary + commissions is too much.
Maybe I'm used to a team with a glittering star and 10 more and I can not imagine another aesthetic, where Icardi and Lewandowski could be good, although to be honest I have headache thinking Cris's money is going to Icardi, who can't even go with Argentina,or going for Lewa in some back to 2012.
I do not love Courtois either. He is very good in some aspects but not so much in low balls. I still remember Messi's nutmeg in the Champions.
Will he arrive and take Navas' place? Why?
If we have spent 13million in Lunin why not Navas+ Lunin(he won't be worse than Casilla).
What I like most is that Asensio will start and that there is money invested in good players, Asensio, Vinicius, Rodrygo, Rodrigo, Ceballos, Theo, Vallejo, Odegaard, Oscar or Gelabert, but looks like a team for 2021, not now.
If it is me I will sell Benz as well and buy Hazard and Icardi. A front 3 with Hazard, Icardi and Bale seems good enough to compete next season.
With Hazard the Bernabéu is going to have a great time. I'm sure he would surpass all expectations, although the price they ask for seems excessive.
Once I see them in the field, I'm sure I'd change my mind. Everything would depend on a healthy Bale

They should buy the modern day equivalents of Valencia, Owen and Obertan.

Benzema is still there of course so he will lead the line, Bale one side, Hazard the other, Isco as number 10. Asensio, Vazquez and the young Brazilian guy getting minutes when the senior guys are injured or out of form as in last few seasons.

What will probably happen is Real Madrid will have siimilar league season, will bomb out in quarters of CL and then you'll get your 2009 revolution next summer.

Zero chance we entertain bids for Marcelo. Him, Sergio, Varane, Casemiro, Luka and Asensio are untouchable, unless they ask to be sold. Everyone else has a price i think

You think Kroos would be available? And why?

Personally don’t think Hazard alone is the answer as there isn’t enough goals in a Hazard, Benzema, Isco front three.

If I was Madrid I would be going all out for Mo Salah.

A single player doesn't need to replicate Ronaldo's goal output. There's no reason they can't score just as many without him but more evenly distributed amongst their attack. Hazard would create and score plenty in that team.

Not sure I agree.

You can’t replace 50 odd goals a season by hoping Hazard will step up and massively improve his output.

Modric, Kroos nor Casemiro will ever hugely improve their goal output. It puts too much pressure on their front three.

Liverpool would never sell him unless he handed in a transfer request. And the fee would be stupendous.

I think Real Madrid are not done shopping. I would not be surprised if they bring in a centre forward. Icardi, Agüero, Werner, maybe even Cavani or Belotti. They need a more classic nr9 to put the ball in the back of the net after Modric/Kroos/Isco/Hazard* pass the ball 259 times.

Icardi's a baller. He'd put up crazy numbers in Spain with Hazard and Isco supplying him. If they were to pick up another winger too (still not sure about Asensio) and Bale is a crock, then you'd have to look at Perisic wouldn't you?

If Bale stays fit(which is a huge IF), he could come close(I use this very loosely) to matching Ronaldo's output.

Though that's a huge risk relying on his fitness.

They'd need 1 more attacker brought in.

I remember when Ronaldo left us years ago, people said the goals will be evenly distributed too and we will go on having similar success.

If it was the usual 20 goals a season player id agree but replacing almost 50 goals a season is a massive ask.

Who'd a thought Owen, Valencia and Obertan wouldn't bang in the goals.

I'm pretty sure he moves to EPL next season. No concrete reason, just a hunch because he comes of like a footballing globetrotter in a sense that he want's to try the best clubs in the best leagues.

He was not very connected with Bayern and it's the same here if you look at what he says and how he acts. Very measured in everything.

Not to mention they had Michael Owen himself.
Yeah but Owen of 2004 was potentially a totally different proposition tbf. Gets a free pass for being free agent and scoring that winner against City anyway:devil:

I hope your right.

Apparently they're offering €125m for Hazard which I can't see Chelsea accepting. They'll at least have to pay more than Barca did for Coutinho.

I cannot believe that anyone thought they would be able to get Neymar or Mbappe this summer.

Talk about having your head in the clouds.

The owners of PSG would never sell these two after just winning the battle for their signatures.

I don’t think Spurs would accept a world record bid for Kane and I also don’t think he would agitate for a move after his new contract.

Impossible targets.

Hazard looks the only realistic big name prospect.

But that bid is laughable. I think you are looking at north of €180m. Maybe €200m.

Even then, I don’t think they will want to sell.

In 2018, the size of bids need to be really astronomical to get the wealthier clubs to blink an eye lid.

Right now, €200m will not help Chelsea like Hazard will.

I’ve always felt that when Ronaldo and Messi moved on, Real and Barca will come firmly back down to Earth.

I think it is very safe to say that they will not be as dominant on the pitch or in the transfer market in the coming decade as they were in the previous.

They were greatly helped by United being swimming in debt in the latter Fergie years.

Now i expect real to be on same level as Bayern/Juve/ManCity/PSG.
Next tier will be Man Utd/Liverpool/AthleticoMadrid.
With Barca being the best team atleast on paper.

Hazard being quoted at 170m is just ridiculous. He's at best worth 120m.. He does not even come close to providing the goals and assists combined what CR7 has done for them.

Chelsea would be doing bad business even for 200 million. It’s not like they can use the money to buy someone better than Hazard, those players aren’t available.

They should keep him at all costs.

Why on earth did they sign the Ronaldo deal off before sorting their own incomings out?
Just sheer arrogance that they'd be able to overpower anyone like old times?

Seems to me that there are lots of positions Chelsea could do better. A fixed view on one position is incomplete and unnecessary imo.

They are doing better. Bought Jorginho, seems like they’re getting Higuain, Golovin and a CB. Plus they have a new manager in Sarri.

They need Hazard more than they need 150 million.

Bale, Isco, Asensio, Modric and Kroos are able to create goal opportunities, Madrid need a goalscorer... Someone like Kane, Lewandowski or even Icardi/Cavani.

They wouldn't solve their problem by just signing Hazard.

Prices these days means nothing. There's no limit to this inflated market. Toby 80mil for example.
