RAWK Goes Into Meltdown (2011/2012)

As I and others said a few weeks ago - their season ended with the loss to Arsenal last month. They're already guaranteed Europa League football next season thanks to the Carling Cup win, and with the loss to the Arse they can't get into the top 4 and the CL positions.

Basically enjoy the continuing uselessness through to the end of the season, because they've got literally nothing to play for.

Roy's 20 PL games in charge of LFC - 25 points

Kenny's last 20 PL games in charge of LFC - 23 points

Careful, you might get banned for stating the facts.

To be fair, a lot of them are just accepting they are just shit. Not as fun

I actually thought Kenny might walk a few weeks ago, fed up with the circus the club is becoming.

Yes, the club is letting Kenny down.

Perch is a dickhead, but it's modern football. Anyone who thinks Suarez wouldn't have done the same - or worse - is deluding themselves.

Wow I'm surprised at so much honesty. No question the little rat face would have taken that opportunity in a heart beat. That being said Perchs action was shameful non the less.

RAWK is fast becoming Rafa And Woy Kop.

Hand ball on the line = red card. Don't be a burke, mate.

If you say so, I didn't realize that, doesn't happen very often. In Simpson's defense, he didn't move his arm, players often touch the post like that so it wasn't an arm raised on purpose to stop the ball.

I would think a defender doesn't have the right to put his arm up on the post like that, surely an unnatural position.

Is the idea that it's a yellow of the handball and another for denying the goal scoring opportunity?

There post match thread is really hard to keep up with, damien is my only hope now.

He moves his arm towards the ball, it's definitely handball. The red is for denying a goalscoring opportunity, yes.

It didn't look that way to me, but I also wasn't that bothered to check it out that closely!

Let's say he didn't move his arm, is reaching out to feel the post an acceptable reason to raise an arm? I could see a defender reaching out to feel for the man he's marking and inadvertently getting a shot kicked against that outstretched arm. Since touching your opponent like that isn't against the rules, would it be a handball?

He moved his upper arm towards the ball to nudge it away, it's definitely a penalty. I'm not saying I'd want them to have the red card and pen but if we had that denied for us, I'd be absolutely livid.

I don't see anything wrong with putting your arm on the post, I do it all the time when I take first post on corners in my weekly 5-a-side. It helps you know where abouts you are in the goal and how big the gap you have to close down is, should you have to close it. If the ball is kicked at your arm, it's ball to hand and not handball, though sometimes it's given, it depends where the arm is and on the flight of the ball. If Simpson hadn't moved his arm to the ball, which he did, I would be saying it's not a penalty but I can understand why one would be given for that.

Seems fair to me. I thought Simpson's movement was him trying to get his shoulder on the ball and not quite making it, which caused his arm to move with his chest, didn't look to me like a man trying to use an arm illegally, or he would have used more of a swatting motion.

That's what it looks like to me but it doesn't matter, the arm moves towards the ball to prevent it crossing the line, which is preventing a goalscoring opportunity.

This gif will sum up the feelings of every liverpool fan when they saw the second go in

Someone having a go a AA

We didnt get a pen - Doesn't mean it's a bent game. If thats the thinking, i'm starting to think we're on the payroll for teams when we roll over and get fecked up the arse for relegation fodder

Reina got himself sent off. Rules are rules and he broke it

It's annoying rather than looking at the bigger picture we're clutching at straws for excuses to why we put in another shocking performance

Perch did not get a yellow for simulation he got it for kicking Reina after he had picked the ball up, which started the confrontation.

Very true - got booked for it though didn't he?

Yes, he did. There was still no need for it.

Totally agree - but have to say (and doesn't happen often) that the ref' got it spot on - Perch deserved the yellow for simulation and Reina the red for his "head-butt"

yeah, people keep dismissing the fact that Perch was punished. The referee knew he dived so that has nothing to do with it. The ref saw the headbutt and punished reina.

I honestly don't know, was Perch booked for simulation as everyone seems to be saying? I thought he was booked for the original trip on Reina that led to him turning round a confronting Perch.

Liverpool could get Skrtel send off basicly every game if players did what Perch did when Skrtel goes into his tough-guy-forehead-to-forehead mode

I think people take this it wasn't deliberate and he didn't mean it a bit to far, I think it's very very rare that anyone actually means to handle the ball in the are I mean why would they? It's alwas been more a question if the incident is avoidable and if your arms are raised away from your body then it almost always is.

Ask Kanchelskis ;)
The one I always remember is Nicky Butt against Barcelona. He got two red cards in a row, and the one against Barcelona was a handball on the line.

I'm struggling to remember who the other was against, but I'm sure I remember it being a big game too.

yeh I remember that one, also Paul Scholes against Fulham in 2009 and Andrei Kanchelskis in the league cup final against Villa
