RAWK Goes Into Meltdown (2011/2012)

According to Dippernomics Carroll more than paid for every single one of those Newcastle players.

Funnily enough all of those players would not only improve Liverpool, but would be their best players too.

We over-paid for carroll. don't get me wrong...

But what i don't understand is why he doesn't play? he's actually looked better recently (still not worth his transfer price tag), but yet he has a decent game, then gets benched for the next 3????

We have Wigan at home, but Kenny lines us up with a 4-1-4-1... Don't get it.

Pretty sure 'net', 'spend' and 'dignity' don't follow the rules. Hidden metaphor?

Not really, it was just meant to be funny... he's stuck it up on its own in the hope of getting a 7-letter word on a triple word score...and the word is 'dignity'

The thing's feeling kind of like a Steven Gerrard hollywood ball that flies 60 yards straight out of touch

Welcome up WAGN.

I've said it before - there are way too many players in that squad that need the squad built around them.

Suarez, Carroll, Gerrard, Adam. It's all over the shop.

Bizarre thread on Benitez:
http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index.php?topic=250914.0

Benitez even challenging once was over achieving. Competing with chelsea united and arsenal we should never of even got near the title. Him being so good contributed to his own downfall, expectations where massive after that season.

In his last year he finished 7th for goodness sake, behind Aston Villa.

And Benitez's new book:

Whenever I have noticed Carroll get plaudits for playing well, it is usually because he has provided some flick ons to his strike partners. The problem with this is that it requires someone hit it high and/or long to him. This is somewhat against the grain of the ball to feet style Liverpool have attempted to integrate.

Bottom line has to be that Carroll is not a very good footballer. He looks dangerous in the air sometimes and can be a manace to defences if he is putting himself about. But his touch and movement isn't very good. And when he plays Liverpool look even worse than normal. Which is saying something.

Unfortunately for Liverpool fans, I think Dalglish has assembled a very mediocre squad that doesn't compliment itself very well. If you are going to play Carroll, then I think you have to play Downing and Gerrard in wide positions to get as many balls swung into the box at speed as possible. They have rarely done this.

I also think they have looked very poor when Gerrard has come back through the middle. His endless insistence on Hollywood balls leads to break down of attack after break down of attack. I'd shift him out wide right.

Suarez is the other myth for them. He's seen as their best, most dangerous player but reality is that his golascoring record in England is very poor. He spends most of the match on his arse complaining about something he is never going to be given, and is the epitome of a head down dribbler. He has the ability to do something special from time to time, but more often than not he is ineffectual. If they can get a big bid for him in the summer from PSG, then they should take it and try and reinvest the money wisely. Admittedly not a a certainty given their recent record.

Dalglish has bought mediocre players but he should be getting more out of them. They aren't even playing as well as they were at their previous clubs. Downing was ok at Villa but has been poor at LFC. Likewise Carroll and Henderson. Adam was always a but pants. Just got a huge rep because he could take a good free kick, hit the odd big pass and swung in a mean corner. He wasn't even Blackpool's best player. Now he can't even take a corner. You have to wonder what the hell is going on during training at Melwood.

Liverpool's best managers, points per game done in modern scoring for purposes of comparison.

Wins/Draws/Losses/Win %/Point Per Game
Paisley-307/132/96/57.4%/1.97
Benitez-194/77/79/55.4%/1.88
Shankly-393/185/175/52.2%/1.81

United's most successful managers:

Ferguson-854/329/255/59.4%/2.01
Busby-576/266/299/50.5%/1.75

Of course the eras were quite different, more parity across the league than today, but still interesting. Benitez certainly did a decent job, for all his short comings.

What I don't understand is how they have so many members if people are banned every week!

They're just unbelievably strict with bannings. I know someone from another forum who got banned for trolling when he said that Andy Carroll has a poor touch.

So Everton have gone ahead in the "Finish above Liverpool Cup" but can they hold onto their lead...........

Next they'll be competing for the "Stopped them from getting into the Champions League, laa Cup"

As I said after the end of the 3pm games, as it stands Liverpool are just three points ahead of 13th - they really are losing the plot.

Cmon, whos running the ridiculous twitter...it's oddly compelling on matchday. So kudos.

Has Dalglish damaged Liverpool Football Club more than Souness? http://www.liverpool-kop.com/2012/03/dalglish-vs-souness-league-form.html

Finally, the honeymoon period for King Klan Kenny is over ... as more and more sensible, knowledgable Liverpool fans, and not that rabble from RAWK, begin to understand the damage KKK has inflicted upon his former alma mater ... perhaps even more damage to Liverpool Football Club that what Graeme Souness was supposed to have inflicted when he was manager (though I think that is extremely harsh on Souness's tenure as its just then when SAF cracked his magic secret and formula).

King Klan Kenny is indisputably an icon for Liverpool Football Club and indeed the English Football League. He has earned in place in footballing history and should be revered for it. But in the last stages of his career, he let his own ego get in the way of the best interests of Liverpool Football Club.

Perhaps, in hindsight, Hodegson was not the right person to take over from Benitez, but from the influential pheriphery seat at the club that he had KKK had a single minded ambition which was to be reappointed manager of the club he loves and this made Hodegson's job impossible.

Nothing wrong in that ... if you are skilled enough, relevant enough and able enough to deliver the transformations that you promised, and based on previous equity, managed to convince the owners and fans that you were capable of doing so. But having boosted the coffers after the sale of Torres (a correct decision IMO), his acquisitions of Carroll, Downing, Henderson and Bellamy have proven to be as disastrous as his strategy during the entire Suarez/Evra disgrace.

King Klan Kenny is totally the wrong person to reinvent one of the former powerhouses in world football. He is too old, he does not have a vision of where football is heading and his EQ skills in this current assignment have been appalling.

It will be messy, but FSW have to part ways with him this summer and get in a new guy and back him to the hilt. I would think that AVB, ex Chavski, would be a brilliant coup if they could get him and give him the security of an unshakable 5 year contract. Liverpool needs to reinvent itself and in doing so, stop harping on about achievements in the past. None in the current playing staff and most of their fans have nothing to do with that illustrious past ... its been 20 years!!! And hiring icons from the past will not bring them up to speed with the kind of players, skills, nuances and tactics that a modern day football team needs to be successful.

From the POV of a Manchester United fan who suffered greatly during the 1980's because we were inconsistent and mainly crap, its comedy gold value, and I hope their demise continues for many years to come. But from a lover of English football, the PL would benefit from a strong Liverpool .... and still beating them to win the PL year in year out (as opposed to the Chavs or shitty) would be far more satisfying. Thats my single regret of SAFs incredible era of dominance, he not only knocked Liverpool off their perch, he pretty much wiped them into oblivion!

Some words of wisdom my friend.

It's both funny and sad at the same time to see a whole club and it's supporters living in a bubble where they can't see the forest for the trees.

Some of my closest friends who are long time Pool supporters are pending between deep denials and loosing their hope's. Sometimes they really tries to be rational but then emotions come in their way and feck things up and then they are back to the conspiracy theories or "next season" syndrome. There are times when I laugh behind their back but lately I have to show sympathy when we discuss the clubs shortcomings otherwise we end up in ugly arguments leading nowhere. Who would have thought that ten fifteen years ago..

this season cristiano ronaldo played 29 games and scored 37 goals
this season Liverpool F. C. played 31 games and scored 36 goals

so, Cristiano Ronaldo >>>>>>> the entiere Liverpool FC team

RAWK is going to make Chernobyl look like a baby fart after this.

The blame will lie with Perch though.
