Thought it was one of his better performances without scoring a goal.
Yeah, came to post this.

As sad as that is, it was one of his better performances this season. More useful touches than usual and two shots on target. Just still not anywhere close to good enough - but I’ve seen a lot worse from him.

Seen enough of him now. Not United material. Next.

I hopped off the Rasmus train a couple months ago. Feel like he had all the right tools but now realise he's pretty lost out there. His brain as a striker is too slow and his technical ability is lacking. May still turn out to be a decent striker in 4/5 years.

We do not have 4 years.

Worked hard as usual and looked a bit more lively. Still feel like he’s forcing it too much and never seems likely to score, which is obviously a big concern.

Don’t rate him as he’s another who doesn’t have the basics to even make a PL player never mind a Man Utd player.

He didn't have as many clear cut chances as the other forwards but there was one I really felt he missed a trick with...

For once he was put through and had the chance to get off a shot, but he and we could see a spurs defender closing quickly. He lunged just before the shot and slid and blocked the shot.

The amount of times I've seen more experienced forwards know they will not get the shot away so shape/fake shoot, drag inside and then have time to pick their spot. Back in the old days Rooney and Berba did this lots.

The decision to sign ‘hot Prospect’ Hojlund instead of Kane or Osimhen looks even more hilarious every week.
Worst striker in the league.

He needs to move back down to a midtable Serie A or Bundesliga side and start over again.

It's not happening for him, is it!? Got some shots away which is something. Now if he could aim them a little less at the keeper.

He is hopeless, he is never in the right positions and gets dispossed far too easilly while being more interested in wrestling with a defender than actaully running.

I go to watch FC United and Adam Le Fondre despite being 37 is honestly better than Hojlund.

Sorry, he is not ready to play for United, and may never be. He doesn’t have the touch, the physicality or the speed to play for us.

Utd fans were calling out Tel as shit today and he was, but

7 shots, 3 on target
16/21 passes
1/1 aerials
1 key pass
If there were some sort of on ball efficiency stat, his would have been really low today.

For the amount of times he found himself on the ball in promising situations, he produced very little.

Not writing the lad off, but he was woeful today. (Would still take him here, mind you)

He was more involved than has been for most of this season but another really bad game.

Don't disagree, he looked super raw and frustrating, made a ton of bad decisions. He was present in the game though, a threat.

It is shocking to me just how little we have grown to expect from Hojlund that today was undeniably an improvement. Forwards have to makes things happen, it can't just be about service, they have to find a way to impact a game in some manner, Hojlund at least showed a couple of moments where he pulled wide, made space for a shot, poor shots but at least it was something after months of being the least threatening striker probably starting in a major league.

This is what confuses more than anything else about him, as I thought he was supposed to be able to run 100 metres in under 11 seconds.

He has no idea how to play one-touch football. Pass and then bolt into space is alien to him.

It's infuriating.

Said at the time he wasn’t the right player and got slated for it. Ridiculous spending that amount on a young striker when we needed experience. And still do.

I actually think he’s one of the worst strikers we’ve ever had at the club in the PL era. And we signed a past-it Falcao.

Hes Frazier Campbell level.

Atalanta have taken us to the cleaners.

He doesn’t look like a striker. Plain and simple. All striker actions seem foreign to him, which is why every part of his game looks lagged and seconds outside the processing window he has in the PL. That’s why so many of his actions are countered/smothered/nullified. And he telegraphs absolutely everything he is doing to the point it is a concern in its own right. Your striker is supposed to be the sneakiest, most cunning and sharp player with the highest instincts and perception of where to be to make difficult positioning look easy; he is nowhere near that guy for us.

He is so far behind the curve that just getting him up to par to be a PL striker is a tall order, let alone be a player for the so-called elite teams in the league.

Never had anything against him, and still don’t, defended him a lot in this thread, even, but I don’t see a PL striker in the kid; he genuinely looks like a lower league player who has been thrust into a division he is not equipped for and it will be miraculous if he can turn this around as by eye and data, he is the worst starting striker in the league by some distance now, and there doesn’t look to be light at the end of the tunnel with the way everything is so challenging for him.

This extended period as the starter was supposed to be a proving ground, but it’s serving to be the opposite, as with each game, he looks less and less the part.

I feel for him, but at the same time, the club have to be stern and earnest in assessment and the question by now is: does he have the potential to be anything for us, or not? Perhaps he gets a loan next season, but I really do think he’s playing himself out of the club with his performances.

Will be playing in danish league or spain 2nd division in 5 years. Cant do simple things right. Better game as per his standards still a 2/10 premier league standards

Damning indictment that today wasn't his worst performance in a United shirt but it was still pretty shit. The football looks like a foreign object to him sometimes.

He was dire. This is why stats can be pointless without context. Every single shot was either from a stupid position with tonnes of bodies in the way, or just a terrible finish. He’s very raw so I’m sure he can improve, but I’m glad we didn’t pay a fortune for a short loan.

He is completely out of his depth. There was counter attack where he received the ball with his back to goal with runners in space on either side, and all he had to do was flick it on to Garnacho behind him - he took a hole touch, killed the momentum, and then took ages to shape his body to make the pass, in which time he was dispossessed. You could see Bruno and Garnacho being absolutely broken in their reactions when we lost the ball. He's single handedly demorilazing the rest of our attack. No trickery, no first touch, no movement, no spatial awareness, no passing ability, no physicality to win duels - he has none of the qualities that top strikers possess, and while he may come good in the future, we cannot rely on him as a starting CF in a PL team.

Actually managed to get shots away today. Better than previously but still not good enough

There is an argument to be made that United killed him the summer he arrived.

Unlike Zirkzee who can play a few different positions, Hojlund can only play as a 9. Berrada mentioned a player has 2 years to prove themselves, Rasmus is running out of time and could be packing his bags in the summer which would be a shame but United can't have a none scoring CF leading the line.

Worst striker in the league.
I'm not sure you understand what the word decision means.

Always falls short in everything he does and a yard short in the mind. Always ball watching as well so has no idea what is going on around him.

Better today. He's a player who likes to run the channels and get onto through balls and today we played a few of those, however unnatural it may be for the rest of the attack.

And this is the issue: he has no spikes to his game; nothing he excels at or justifies his starting position. He doesn't affect games positively; he causes attacks to stutter and splutter to a halt as he takes so long to make whatever move he is attempting, and even then, he both telegraphs and executes it really poorly, which enables his markers to swarm him or even sets of triggered counters as opposing players set off to chase down his errant pass/lay off etc.

Our players actively avoid passing to him and it's pretty clear it's because they don't trust he can make use of the ball and even when they do bring him into the play, he, more often than not, brings himself or the the team back out of it with his painful struggles to control and then use the ball.

The league just looks to be way, way too much for him, and it's really knocking his confidence that bit more with each game. The way he plays, he gives you nothing to hone in on and clutch onto as to it being his saving grace; he isn't a specialist and yet, he's really, really bad at general play.

I would be interested to know what positive metric he has a passing grade in this season, because I don't think there's been a single attribute that passes the PL bar from him since the season kicked off.

What's sad for him is he will have to work on his game to get back to what he was when he first got here. His confidence is shattered and he's nowhere near as sharp and nifty as he was back then. You could see what type of player he was when he joined and he's lost that sense of identity since.

He's actually painfully bad as a player. He's not ready for this league. He needs a loan to a weaker league like the championship for him to prove he can play as a loan striker and actually get some goals, because right now, here, he is a horrible player and he's not getting out of this rut without a move.
