His technical level is so poor. You can complain about lack of service but if you can't control the ball and do the very basics of CF play with back to goal how can the rest of the team find you in general play?

Threat level in behind and movement in the box would have been off the charts to make him a viable striker for a team with any ambitions and they are not.

A striker who can not do the basics kills the attack.
 
I once called him the danish Oli Mcburnie. That might be harsh.

I don’t know if he even has the fundamentals, really. Zirkzee is not up to the pace of the league but you can at least see technical quality. Aside from a few (very rare) assured finishes — hard to see what Ramsus excels at.

I think the commentator said something like Hojlund has failed to scored in 36 of his 47(?) PL matches for the club.
 
He's not even doing the basics correctly. Struggles to trap a ball and play simple passes. Serious questions need asked about how we ended up paying 72 million for him.
 
God awful tonight. Can’t hold up the ball or make simple passes. Doesn’t make the right runs either. Should have been hooked after 30 minutes.

He’s really poor and not even making any chances for himself either. It’s not like a Nunez or Morata who is then missing the chances.
 
The game has finished and the players are all off the pitch. Even if we gave him a ball right now, I still wouldn't bank on him scoring.
 
He just keeps getting worse. It’s like playing with 10 men. He literally doesn’t do anything. I’ve never seen a more hapless player. Ten Hag figured it out last season, and kept dropping him more and more. He might be a decent player in Italy or France at some point but nowhere, nowhere good enough to be starting at any premier league team let alone United ffs.

Yeah, he clearly has absolutely no confidence and nothing is happening for him. Never looks like he can even do the simple things at the moment. Every game it's compounded.

He needs to be taken out of the firing line but we don't have anyone at all to step in. Zirkzee seems to be more effective off the bench, but even he is not good enough.
 
Yeah, don’t see it with him. He isn’t the answer to our problems. In fact he amplifies them.
 
He was dreadful, the formation wasn’t really relevant tonight when your CF is that bad. The one time he just about held onto the ball we moved the ball out wide and Mazaoui got fouled in edge of the box.
 
The mind boggles on how he can actually be this bad. He gets worse each week, and I'm genuinely surprised how much he's regressing. He must be absolutely bereft of confidence too
 
Quite concerning at this point. Our attack isn't giving him anything but he also offers absolutely nothing. Not sure if he suits Amorims system because he doesn't give us anything right now.

edit: I always had a bad feeling when the prices for him reached those levels... at the end of the day, I am not too shocked with how he fares, he is a young player in a very tough league in a dysfunctional game. But when the odds are like that, just walk away when they want crazy prices...
 
he will be more experienced in 2 years but it's not reasonable to expect drastic improvement in technique or style. he is what he is, permanently raw.
 
What was it 64 mil plus bonuses to make 72 (that you have to assume will never be met)? He’s been a shocking signing, I think we have been incredibly patient with the kid, but he needs to be dropped from the first 11 with short cameos for a while now. Very poor.

Needs a loan in the summer at best if not we need to just get rid he’s just awful

How did we end up with these 2 strikers at the club? And how did they cost us 100m quid?? absolute madness
 
He's stinking the place out right now. Him and Zirkzee as our strike options has to be the worst we've ever had.
 
I don’t know if it’s us or the league, or both in combination; he looks broken and is regressing quite rapidly now. Not a PL-level player at the moment. Not sure what is for the best with him - continued playing is worsening him.
 
Was obvious very early on after signing he didn't have it. Need to cut our losses somehow.

This team desperately needs a half decent striker as soon as possible.
 
I want to feel bad for him, but I can't.
Yes, he looks sad and frustrated. But the fighting spirit is gone. And there is no excuse for that.
He is young, he is on great wages, he has the CHANGE OF A LIFETIME to be number 9 for Manchester United.
You can't give up, you just can't.
Fight for every blade of grass, run like crazy, scream, shout, do whatever it takes. Listen to Fabian Delph explaining basics of football to Pep.
But don't stand there looking like a kid who got his candy stolen...
