Ralf Rangnick | Austria manager

Guess it's easier when a Manager gets to pick from all the players in a giant national pool to fit his system - and get the most out of it. Where as at United, he was stuck with the squad he was given and trying to polish a turd.

We told you guys Rangnick is quality if you let him do his thing

Yeah Austrian pool is enormous, like Argentina and Brazil combined

Still shake my head every time I see some guys here ranting about his time here.

He had no backing whatsoever and took over a squad that had zero interest anymore, multiple toxic personalities and quite simply not enough quality.

Anyone would've done poorly here, as our record since SAF shows (even known winners like van Gaal and Mourinho "failed").

He has shown everywhere else that he knows a ton about football and that he can implement a modern, successful style of football if you let him do his thing.

Fair play to him. But we should be very cautious of using NT performances as a benchmark of how a manager would do here (remember van Gaal at the 2014 WC?). That said, it just proves a lot more than the manager and people above him are important when it comes to playing well and having success.

Honestly think with the way they play, could well be dark horses for the whole thing!

Done a cracking job.

One of Turkey/Czechs in last 16 so Quarters at least I reckon.

Playing fearless football.

I think Rangnick is one of the managers who lost “these players” here. His press conferences were like one step away from exposing who was the last player in the team to catch an STD

Didn’t play it political enough. Same time, doubt we would have let him implement his philosophy to the fullest

Van Gaal was an exceptional club manager for Ajax and Bayern as well. He was basically the reason Bayern returned to superpower status again after being just solid in the 2000s.

Sure he is not Guardiola but at least that proves he is competent coach with some sort of actual idea how to play, and ability to implement it .

Ahh so it wasn't the manager, it was the club. What a shock.

Finished first in a group with France and Netherlands. Apparently, not a bad coach after all. Just needs a team that's not full of indolent dross.

Tells you how many here are utterly clueless, or have an agenda.

He deserved that sacking because he sold out his way to adapt to those overpaid cnuts but unlike some, he didnt have preseason, didnt waste money and didnt waste to much our time.

International management suits him. Plenty of holiday time and an easy dream to sell. Not taking away from what he's actually good at, but I can't believe people pine for him. Nobody has taken the piss more than him in this post-SAF era.

Yep, and everything he said in his press conferences were correct. Everyone could see that

Yea...no, that spot is reserved for our legend.

As a result of Austria topping the group, England will avoid Spain, Germany, France and Portugal until a potential final if they win their group. Is Southgate bribing some folks! The draws he's had as England manager have been unbelievable.

He’s found his level, we should be happy for him

They have been very good. Refreshing to see this style of football being played at an International tournament, where most matches are usually cagey. Especially from one of the unfancied countries.

Ralf's honesty was too much for the cowards Woody, Murtough & the Glazers. He was never going to last here.

It’s another black eye on our own players, it has to be said, at the risk of pissing off some posters.

The evidence is overwhelming that we are dealing with a lazy, entitled dressing room.

I hope Ten Hag signs his contract now he is staying and had the courage to hoof some of them out. We need a cleanse.

Happy for Ralf. He’s done a mega job at Austria. He has the players at his disposal that suit his style.

Eh, is this correct? Wtf.

Build this man a satue in front of the Happel Stadion. Mental really people don't understand how bad and frustrating we have been the last decade. Never in my lifetime I have seen such a thing. Wild, absolutely wild.

Ralf has always been a class manager. Just the wrong coach at the wrong time back then ... never stood a chance with people like Ronaldo in the dressing room.
