If he has half a brain he will be off in the summer.

I fully expect him to leave personally as he has already stated he is unsettled in Liverpool and was pushing for a move just before Rodgers arrived.

He could join us. I want to see it happen to finally RAWK melt physically.

Jamaica had been sniffing around apparenly.

Southanpton winger Adam Lallana and Tottenham midfielder Jake Livermore called up as well.

If he gets games there's no reason for him to leave. Rodgers seems to be good with young players, especially attacking ones, and, obviously, it's a big, prestigious club.

Hey you! This is no place for common sense.

Depends on how influenced he is by agents and money. Thats why he ended up at Liverpool in the first place. He could be another Pogba.

fecks sake, another insanely over-rated young English player destined for mediocrity at best yet the media and England manager can't stop jizzing over him.

do they never learn?

He's fast and can pass a bit. Not sure why people would rather see Downing or Walcott get a game.

He has been overrated by some people alright, part and parcel of being a young English talent. He has shown promise, though, and he clearly has potential. Absolutely no way of knowing what way it will go for him.

I have no problem with his call up; he's impressed in the game time he's been given for the most part this season, but I don't see why he should be called up specifically to stop him from playing for Jamaica. If England are going to call him up, they should play him as often as he is fit, on form and available. Not just so other people can't have him because at the end of the day, if he's not going to end up playing for Ingerland, he might miss his chance to play in a World Cup which I imagine is every footballer's dream.

I think he's got potential, I wouldn't say he's destined for mediocrity. Mediocre is what he will be if he stays at Liverpool though, to be fair.

your memory would be correct unlike some peoples! Looked one of Liverpool's main threats that day...

I think people don't want to acknowledge him as a prospect purely cause he plays for Liverpool. He played well in europe and was one of their best players against Arsenal and City, showing potential in attack as well as spirit, lots of potential there.

Reminds me of Aaron Lennon in the way he plays. Definitely has potential. If he was on our books we would be raving mad about him.

Yep hes long been a big prospect. A lot of their other supposed talents havent really developed for them, Suso/Pacheco.

Theres always the danger he'll be another Aaron Lennon though (who was equally if not more impressive as a teenager.

Dont you think its more about saying we want to have you selectable, dont go anywhere? He's 17 its very unlikely he's going to be good enough to be selected in every squad and get game time each time. But that doesnt mean he cant be a good England player by 23. Where was Tom Cleverley at 17? Until a few seasons ago he was playing left back for the reserves.

As for the Lennon comparison, I'd argue he's shown a better idea for a passing game. But even if he "only" turns out as good as Lennon, I'd still prefer him than seeing Downing or Milner getting a game. And a lot of the time over Walcott too

Yeah, it's one thing how he develops but 3 games in, 3 tough games at that as a 17 year old, and he's impressed. Pretty certain if a united player had done that he'd have mega heat. Just look at Morrison and Pogba who had less game time that this guy, were older etc and how much was talked about them.

Some on here don't like acknowledging that other young prospects - that don't play for United - might actually be quite good. Sterling has shown promise and against City he looked very dangerous. As some have said; if he played for us, you can imagine the overrating that would be going on. Plenty of our own players are overrated on this site and when one that isn't our own, gets that treatment off the media, etc, there is an outcry on here.

Looks a good player, no idea why people are giving him a hard time.

Looks like he takes it up the todger

He's got more kids than Liverpool have points. Atleast he knows how to score.

Its a case of so far so good for him. He has played very well for a 17 year old. But he could be anything. Too early to judge yet. Loads of 17 years have broke into PL teams early and never became top players.
