Theres not a hope in hell he would ever come here. Liverpool would never sell to us and he would not walk out on them to sign for us as there would be riots on Merseyside.........His agent will get what he is looking for at Liverpool and will sign a bigger contract with them soon

He will go back to London IMO. There has been rumors of him being unsettled in Liverpool since last year.

There wouldn't be riots anywhere and the suggestion is laughable.Scousers like any modern football fans are realistic;this isn't a Gerrard we're talking about. They got him from QPR and he has no local loyalty to Liverpool. If he wants more money and feels he can get it elsewhere they'd be like anyone else and say, "if you don''t want to be here then go"

Game time has been thrown at him like cash to a crack dealer. IMO if he walks away it's a bit cnutish.

You're 17,one of the game's brightest young talents, you're head's being turned by your agent who wants to get the best possible deal for you. It's not cnutish, it's modern day sport

It's not as though they're doing him a favour, they've given him game time because he's the best player available in his position.

Signed a 5 year deal worth 30k a week. Glad that's done and dusted.

He is playing regular first-team football so, I think that he deserves to earn that much money. How many of our 17 years have been regular starters over the last 20+ years, and I am not talking about the Capital one cup, I am talking about the Premier league?

Ronaldo, Nani, Anderson?

But I agree, pisstake at 30k for someone who has about 15 games premier league experience.

Ronaldo was earning in excess of 30k per month when he was 18 by the way. What is this dislike for a player who has only played 15 games? What is it that you dislike about him? Is it simply because he is playing for the dippers? As far as I am concerned, he is probably the most exciting prospect that the England team has at the moment. For me, if he gets the chance, he can replace either Milner or Young and it will definitely be an improvement.

He is in no way the most exciting English prospect and it isn't even debatable, sorry.

Sends a message to every young player around that ~30k is good if you can get it. Which isn't so bad I guess.

Fair play to the lad, he's a talent, sure. But he's not starting material for anything close to a top club and I theorize that the only reason he's getting starts is because he threatened to leave if he didn't and they wanted to hold onto him.

Absolutely spouting bollocks about Milner and Young, right now anyway. Wind that load of shit up (fair enough if you mean 6 or 7 years when they are senior figureheads). If he was at any of the top clubs making attempts on big trophies he'd be 3rd or 4th in line. Nowhere near starting and being an important first team player.

He hasn't done anything in the last 10-15 games. Showed some real promise at the beginning, but he's very young and learning, so inconsistency will be there for a few years to come. My Liverpool supporting friends want him to get a break ASAP, but their alternatives are Downing & Cole

There may well be a reason why so far untested young players don't automatically stroll into our first team, and it isn't because they have less quality than Sterling.

He's been one of Liverpool's best 3 or 4 players this season, well worth £30k a week. The bigger issue is what to do with most of the players earning more than that...

Coming to America

Type Raheem Sterling's name into Google and the first two searches that come up are 'Raheem Sterling kids' and 'Raheem Sterling children.'

An internet rumour spread like wildfire late last year that the recently-turned 18-year-old Liverpool star had at least three different children from three different women but the winger has finally debunked the myth.

"Some of the stuff you see is unbelievable. I’ve read stuff that I’ve got five kids and another on the way. It’s just crazy and it’s completely wrong," Sterling told the Daily Mirror.

The England star actually has only one daughter, Melody Rose, who was born seven months ago after a brief relationship.

"I find it funny to even think about it. If you bite at it, rise to the bait, then it makes it worse.

"I just laugh it off about some of the stuff that people say.

"But I’ve got no regrets. It’s a difficult thing for me. I want to concentrate on my football because I’m so young. It’s probably taught me to be more professional in how I go about living my life now. That’s really important for me."

Sterling is currently in a happy relationship with his girlfriend Hannah with no children on the horizon.

In the interview, Sterling also paid tribute to Steven Gerrard describing the Reds captain as an "inspiration".

Sterling has been a regular in Brendan Rodgers' staring XI this season, with his performances earning a call-up to the England squad for the recent friendly against Sweden.

Gerrard is Sterling's leader for both club and country and the Jamaican-born teenager, who joined from QPR in February 2010, cannot speak highly enough of his skipper.

"He has been brilliant for me. He's always looking after me, always checking to see if I'm alright," Sterling said

"I've noticed as well that if anyone touches me on the pitch, he'll always get them straight back with a tackle. He's always looking after me, on the pitch, off the pitch."

He added: "He looked after me when I first joined the club, got into the team and when I was looking for somewhere to live. He's an inspiration and a great captain."

Liverpool will need Gerrard and Sterling to be at their best for this weekend's match against rivals and current Barclays Premier League leaders Manchester United. It will be the first time Sterling will play United at Old Trafford, the team he admits to following when he first moved to Britain.

"I need to keep that quiet," he said. "But when you start playing for a team, you immediately start supporting them because you want to do your best for your team and you always want them to do well.

"The older boys say that Manchester United is one of the hardest places to go. The pitch is massive and in the last 10 minutes they say it gets even bigger.

"Hopefully we can go there, do our best and come out with a result even though it's going to be very, very hard - a real test.

"The atmosphere in the dressing room is brilliant. We've got Gerrard and (Jamie) Carragher, they're real characters. They're going to make us know what sort of game it is, what it's like and get us ready for it.

"They've been on us all week, telling how important it is. To have people around like that is brilliant. They've been around for so long. They love to have a laugh, good personalities and you need those characters in the dressing room."

So he was a United fan?? Seems to be a level headed lad actually and so far despite playing for them, I kinda like him.
