Bayern says: Raheem Sterling not coming

According to "Bild", Bayern have talked to Sterlings management and "couldn't come to terms".

Hes an idiot if he doesnt take pretty much whatever hes offered to go and play under that manager and with that group of players. Its not like he will never play either, they have a tonne of games and their star wingers are no spring chickens.

I think he'll end up stuck at Liverpool because the only clubs possibly willing to pay the fee/wages are British clubs and the dippers don't want to sell here.

Does LFC think Arsenal is dumb enough to swap Walcott for Sterling when they(Arsenal) know that all they have to at worst is one more year for Sterling?

All the transfer tweets & rumors concerning Sterling are all made of thin air. Figure only his agent & Liverpool are feeding the trolls, as I can't see RM or Bayern even interested, let alone the prices & salary mooted. Seems Sterling, agent, & Liverpool are stuck in a no-win situation, with no easy exits. Figure only Citeh is willing to pony up any cash, and that not at the levels Liverpool needs to save face.

possibly Chelsea? - I could see him fitting in on the right of a front three for Jose - plus he does track back quite well for a winger (though as he showed he is no wing back) - If liverpool would want to sell to another UK club though I don't know

But it's not about the money. Definitely not. Just a young lad who wants to play at the best clubs.

Money? Nonono.
Genuinely wouldn't surprise me if Bayern were offering him less than he's currently on. I think the point people have been making is that if he's going to sign a new four/five year contract on increased wages, he should do it at a club with better prospects.
Not that he should accept whatever any top club offers him.

It's nice to know Brendan keeping him grounded paid off.

Never watched any of Brendans shite before, but recently I've watched a couple floating round the forum. He is literally like that useless PE teacher at school who only got the job through knowing someone there.

Seriously someone get me that series, I need to see it.

it isn't exactly about the wage structure with Bayern. I'm sure Kroos wasn't asking something outrageous, like 50% more than Schweinsteiger or Götze.
Bayern will factor in a number of things, player quality and demand only being one of them. It is common to offload a part of the gross salary sum to sponsors and partners, so market value of the player for advertising comes into the equation. Kroos has a very low public profile, he isn't a fan's favourite like Müller, Ribery or Alaba.

"he was always just a shite fochin' cup manager, worse than woy, all things considered, la."

Benitez thinks he is a big shot again after being appointed as Real Madrid boss. Hope he fails horribly.

Buy Sterling, Rafa. Do it, you know you want to.

Rafa sells Ronaldo or Bale, spends money to bring Sterling in as a replacement, and Rodgers proceeds to waste the money on Southampton players.

The circle of life.

His wage demands must be ridiculous.

Kroos' wage demands were too much for Bayern. It seems Bayern has a very strict wage structure.

Apparently so were Kroos' and Gundogan's.
Seeing the manner in which Newcastle released Taylor and Gutierrez, I got no problem with players demanding a lot money. You have leverage? use it.

Rafa with a lot money to spend is always

Urgh, the thought of raheem stirling prancing about Old Trafford in our jersey makes me feel dirty...do not want. Just get another winger or keep Mata or Young on the right, we don't need to go for a player who won't come here due to "loyalty". Plus he's really unlikeable.

There's more chance of de Gea signing a new contract than there is us signing Sterling. It isn't going to happen, don't worry.

Yup, would love us to sign one of their players to piss them off, but I really don't like Sterling tbh. Will never happen anyway, but I'm sure just us being linked with him in the papers is winding them up
Woody should call FSG to put in a bid just to take the piss

I hope so.

I dunno, risky

Eff this, I don't even want to think about him signing for us. I've never booed a Red but I'd make an exception for him.

Brilliant of Rodgers to hurt his value on the market by playing him as wingback and striker.

Is his value hurt? I must have missed something. He's still as overrated as ever with these £50m valuations being bandied about.

Utd's £25m is a good start, now for City to get involved.

Has anyone taken this valuation seriously though?

He will be a good player, no doubt about it. This season though he has been a bit off as his heads been elsewhere. I would love it if we could sign him, even if it was £40/50 Million as I think he would be a quality player for the years to come, also to see how the Liverpool fans react. But it will never happen.

Someone will be stupid enough to. Heck if Utd are interested there must be something about the 'kid' right? Yeah, lets bid some more.

Seems to be how fantasy football works (i.e. oiltasy football).

Mate you give us £50m for him I'll drive him to Old Trafford myself. :)

I don't think we're really interested anyway, re-integrating Januzaj into the team should be priority over signing Sterling.

If I was to guess I'd say Sterling's people are stirring the shit leaking these United stories.
