His agent looking for an extra £10k a week again with this latest leak. Boring.

A long shot, but I'd be happy to have him. I think that he'd fit in well here footballing wise, his abilities appear to suit our style. We'd have to chase off that agent of his though.

Give them 30m and loan them Januzaj and Mcnair

Do you honestly think they would even consider that? ffs

I believe Sterling is 'doing a Heinze', if reports are to be believed on him being open to a move. It will never happen in a million years mind.

Let's just for a second channel our inner muppet, and for a moment say that Liverpool were open to selling to us. It would surely mean the end of the road for ADM (LVG judging from this season just doesn't seem to fancy him), and personally I'd be all for selling ADM to PSG, even for a cut price £40 million if it meant we were able to fund a move for Sterling.

There, I said it. *hides*

Seriously?

Only way Sterling would come to us would be if he ran his contract down.

Sterling and his agent won't want to do that. I suspect the United links are in order to force Liverpool into selling this summer.

If we're in muppetland, I'd rather play a very good DM(TBD), Di Maria and Herrera in a midfield 3, with Sterling and Memphis on the wings.

Him and Depay on the wings could be devastating. It wouldn't automatically mean the end of ADM though. We'll need a big squad. It would be beneficial of Liverpool to deal with us since we're friends. It's just the fans that can't stand each other. Partly Cillas fault. It's going to be an interesting summer.

If he was entering the last year of contract, maybe... MAYBE it could happen for United, but with 2 years they're not exactly backed into a corner, so it's just not happening is it.
We should have stuck in a 17million pound bid through the fax so they sit there perplexed staring at the sheet of paper for several minutes, wondering if it's serious or taking the piss though, just for amusement.

This is already hilarious  the 25m bid was genius
is it confirmed we made an approach? I doubt they would sell but it's fun if anything, they will sell him anyway and will never fight us for Europa League..

I wish clubs actually did things like this... Maybe they do. Just troll the heck outta other clubs transfer committees.

Well it depends how you look at it. If we bought him now, the price would be far greater then with one year remaining. So Liverpool would have to ask themselves, is it worth keeping an unhappy player? It really depends on Sterlings determination. Liverpool probably need 5+ players of real quality. It would be wiser to sell him now because we've seen with the De Gea situation how much of a pain in the ass it is for everyone. If a player wants to move with zero doubt, it's best just to let him. If it's too United? It don't really matter. You ask any Liverpool fan. They would be more concerned bringing in quality players then him joining United. If they want to challenge for anything, they have to focus on players that want to play for them. The fans have turned against him, it's not a good situation.

The De Gea situation is different as their is genuine doubt but if Liverpool want to do anything next season, they need to get rid. It being United should not be a problem. The history or non history is there but from a business perspective AND from a need perspective, they should let him leave.

I think they'll end up getting the Walcott + Cash deal done, but it would be lovely if it collapsed and we signed Sterling.

It would be simply too funny if he ended up here, I don't think United fans would ever collectively stop laughing.

But there is just no way Liverpool would sell him to us.

Why would it be the end for di Maria? Ronaldo and Bale occupied the wings at Madrid during di Maria his best season ever. If we buy a world class defensive midfielder, sort out our defense and restrict Herrera (or buy another more defensive minded midfielder) to play a more defensive game di Maria could play in midfield. Sterling would most likely mean the end for Mata though.

It would be fun to sign Sterling. Depay, Sterling and Januzaj could become a strikeforce to fear in a few years.

Dont think we will sign Sterling though.

Yes. Bought players from them even. As recently as 1938, in fact. Fans have such short memories, etc.

Surprised that there are so many that don't want him. If it is because of his attitude then I understand but he really is a great talent.

I think he is a very good player but not as good as he has been hyped up to be. I think we can do better elsewhere for less.

I really want this to happen, it would be soul destroying for Liverpool fans

Unlike many others, I actually think we can sign him from Liverpool, a lot is usually being made about rivalries and what not. But I don't think the board of both clubs are at war with each other. If we are serious about signing him, comfortable with paying over the odds for him, and he wants to join us, then I think a deal can be done. They'll only have to do a good PR and it will all be on Sterling, rather than the club, that's all. Having said that, I really don't think we're interested, having just signed Memphis.

we will never do business with Liverpool..and rightly so.

How would it be wrong? Fans don't like it, but if it's beneficial to the club who gives a shit! Lad is going to leave Liverpool regardless to a domestic rival. So they should just sell to the highest bidder as anyone who can afford him will be competing for the champions league places. Much like Everton did with Rooney.

Sterling and Depay on either flank supporting Rooney with Di Maria playing in no.10 position would be a fabulous top 4. Add to that the solid DM and Herrera and we will look menacing! I understand his attutude is a problem but for 25-30m he is an immense talent. Van Gaal can sort out his niggles and is used to handling young talents. I am so up for this!
