He go for it.Enquiring about a Liverpool player? Van Gaal is still pissed isn't he?
Please basedGod Woodward, make this happen.
He go for it.
That has conjured up images of Bin Laden in shellsuit in my mind... @Olly make that magic happen!Sterling would be daft to join us.
Liverpool fans sent death threats to Gerrard's family to get him to change his mind over a move to Chelsea.
Raheem would have a scouse fatwa on his head if he joined us.
The story is blatantly briefed by Liverpool, trying to soften the blow for the fans for when he eventually joins Man City, which won't seem too bad in comparison.
Yeah, was just thinking the same.I think this could be Liverpool just saying that hey we could keep him till his contract ends but then he would join United so we would much rather sell now to Arsenal or City
Van Gaal's in it for the lols. Offer of 25 million and one pounds for him and Kolo please.
If he goes to utd there will be lynch mobs in the streets of liverpool. FSG will be put in witness protection, Ian Ayre will be found decapitated by his motorbike and rodgers will spend his days in a paper factory.
As for raheem sterling, let's just say he better not go out at night.

Admittedly, I'm going by something I've read as I was getting ready for WW2 at the time, but I think that is correct.
This post.No. He does not match to Munich. What do we want in Munich with another "golden boy" that already wants to earn much more than he deserves? He is too expansive for somebody from whom you do not know if he can adapt to the system, league, language, country etc. and from who you do not know how he will manage his early success. He did not repeat his debut season...
Of course he'll never be sold to United. Heinze proved the situation between the 2 clubs. But it's certainly a nice fantasy to contemplate.
or be stuck playing as a wing back b/c his manager sucks at buying players"Liverpool have spent one season in six in the Champions League and have won one trophy in the last nine years."
Can't blame him for wanting to leave.
It's ridiculous how the media are presenting it as if he's going to be making a sidewards move."Liverpool have spent one season in six in the Champions League and have won one trophy in the last nine years."
Can't blame him for wanting to leave.
I suspect he would be taking a vacation while he's saying that, and do a Tevez for the longterm if the move doesn't happen.I agree with most of the sentiment on here, Liverpool would prefer to shut up shop and turn Anfield into a roller disco before they'd sell him to us.
That said, what would their move be if he came out and said publicly that he has his heart set on joining Manchester United?
Their owners would shit the bed at the idea of losing him on a free. Plus they'd need to spend his transfer value on security for match days and at training between now and the end of his contract.
If these rumours of him being a childhood United fan are true, this could be an intriguing and hilarious saga!

Why do Bale and Sterling have to allegedly become available at a time when we're well stocked in wingers?
ADM, Young, Januzaj, Mata, Nani and now Depay. There's no way we could keep everyone happy.
Manchester United have tried to take advantage of the uncertainty over Raheem Sterling’s future at Liverpool by inquiring about signing the England forward.
The approach from Old Trafford featured a request for an indication of how much it would cost to buy the unsettled 20-year-old, who is involved in a contract stand-off at Anfield.
Manchester City are also pursuing Sterling and the approach from their neighbours is likely to be followed by others from Barclays Premier League clubs monitoring the situation.
Liverpool, though, are determined not to sell Sterling and United’s inquiry was rejected out of hand, without any figures being discussed. United were also left in no doubt that further communication on the subject would not be welcomed. While Liverpool’s hands-off message applies to all clubs hoping to prise Sterling away from them this summer, the ferocity of their historic rivalry with United dictates that, even in the event of their stance changing, the prospect of a deal being struck between the clubs is unlikely to improve.
Not since April 1964, when Phil Chisnall joined Liverpool from United in a £25,000 deal, has a player been transferred directly between English football’s two most successful clubs, their rivalry becoming increasingly intense in the following decades. Since then, only Gabriel Heinze, in 2007, has gone close to breaking the unofficial taboo, but he was prevented from doing so when a Premier League tribunal ruled that even though United had given the defender written permission to join another club for £6.8?million and Liverpool had matched their asking price, the authorisation applied only to foreign clubs.
Although relations between the clubs are more cordial now since the departures of Sir Alex Ferguson and Rafael Benítez, the chances of one countenancing the sale of a key player to the other remain negligible.
Aidy Ward, Sterling’s representative, is set to hold talks with Liverpool tomorrow, during which he is expected to stress his client’s desire to leave. It is also expected that he will ask Liverpool to provide him with a price at which they would consider a sale.
Liverpool, though, hope to convince Sterling to sign a new contract. Even if that does not happen, the club insist that they will hold Sterling to his present deal, worth £35,000 per week.
Jordon Ibe and Jonathan Flanagan have signed new contracts. Ibe has agreed an improved five-year deal while Flanagan, who is out for the rest of this year with a knee injury, has accepted a 12-month extension.
United have also missed out on their main defensive target after Mats Hummels, the Borussia Dortmund and Germany centre half, rejected a potential move to Old Trafford, They are reported, though, to be edging closer to signing Nicolas Otamendi, 27, the Valencia and Argentina centre half.
There's no chance of this happening.
Didn't we take Henize to court when he tried to force a move to Liverpool?
And that was our back up left back who'd suffered a bad injury which made him half the player he was. I can't see Liverpool selling us their biggest talent.
