I actually fully agree with Carragher. A 20 year old and his agent leaking shite to the press and trying to call the shots after the season he's had is a disgrace. Who does the little prick think he is?
You can only look out for yourself. Liverpool are going nowhere. If he isn't forceful about his future, he'll see the next three or four years of his career go down the drain. Sturridge, unfortunately for him, doesn't have that option. He's stuck on that ship.

Based on his performances this season Liverpool would rather get rid than pay his ridiculous wage demands.

Another case of a young player thinking he's better than he is.

Nuh man this just means they can't hold on to their best player. Which player has performed for Livershit this season?

You're dreamimg, it has been said he wants to go back to London, so if he decides to move 50 miles down the road to you guys it'll not look good for Liverpool, the least they'll want is a top fee, like you say he is English so that adds a bit, he is also as you say a player you need, and he still has 2 years on his contract so they don't need to sell.

It'll be £50 million, £170 k + per week if you mange to do a deal, at best.

It's literally just rumours that he wants to go to London, so it would not reflect badly on Liverpool whatsoever.

Coutinho and Henderson have probably been their two best players.

From a rival's perspective, I don't think you can look past Lovren and Balotelli for players of the season.

Think it's a bit more then a rumour, but that aside his fee will be bigger than the the talent, whether it's you, arsenal, or whoever.

Would be quite pleased to have him at United. Was a United fan too IIRC.

But cannot see them selling to us unless we pay over the top big time.

If he is so sure of forcing the issue then most probably he has had tentative interest already from some club. City seems most likely if not us. Maybe Arsenal too ?

Really have not yet been impressed by him

Certainly plenty of potential, but I'm not sold on him at all

It's funny because it's Liverpool, but really he should be staying at the club until he actually proves himself

It doesn't matter though

Unless Liverpool get Klopp () they're likely to be so iffy over the next few seasons that nobody will come out with an increased reputation. He's not fully proven, but he's leaving at the best time, and he's making noise to avoid being cornered and guilt-tripped.

Liverpool should be looking to do this:

-------------Mignolet
Flanagan-Skrtel--Sakho--New LB
----------Can----Henderson
Ibe----------Coutinho-----New Signing
-------------Sturridge/New Signing

If they can get good money for him they could actually have better balance in the team than this season. However, they have a terrible record in the market and Sterling leaving would send a pretty bad message.

I think the most sensible choice, should he stay in England for both club and player would be City. He could fit in well at Arsenal, but I think they've got other areas of the squad that need sorting out first, it also possibly makes them a little unbalanced and they'll have to lose maybe a couple of good players.

I'd like to see him go abroad, though I can't see it happening.

He wouldn't start at Arsenal. Sanchez, Ozil, Cazorla all better and Ox is ahead of him IMO.

Would Jose fancy him as in Oscar's role?
I think he'd be great in that position for us. For the £35-40m that's being banded around, though, I'd prefer Griezmann who actually has terrific end product and experience in a top team.

Definitely wouldn't say no to Sterling.

I think he should stay tbh ... he needs game time more than anything really.
Suppose he could get that at city and have a better standard of player around him to learn from though.

Just cant see him playing week in, week out anywhere else really.

He definitely isn't a Jose Mourinho type midfielder though. Maybe can be accomodated wide but you have Hazard having a freeish role from there anyway.

Eh, I disagree. He may be small but he's deceptively strong and doesn't have a problem helping out in defense. He can press high and pressure the ball which we liked to do earlier in the season. Great in tight spaces, bags of pace, and just a headache for defenses.

Think he'd do well in our side.

City bound, in my opinion.

Aguero
Silva - De Bruyne - Sterling
That is 'walk the league' potential. I'd be real fecking pissed too. Those two are probably two of my very favourite non-Utd players.

Think City will go for him. Wonder who leaked this to the media that he told Brendan he wanted to leave. Not much of a private conversation eh...? My cynical side thinks it was Brendan. His last press conference for the season will be all about Raheem and no one will be questioning him about his 'future' with the club.
