I wouldn't say England were 'bailed out' against Switzerland. They simply edged a tight game that could have gone either way. It wasn't as if they got lucky like Spain got lucky with a penalty shout that was genuinely 50/50. England held their nerve and that is, again, tournament football.
England have basically been carrying two players - in the shape of Kane and Foden - who have been atrocious. I don't know if you have been watching the games but it is beyond my powers of comprehension to understand how Phil Foden and Harry Kane are being picked on merit.
Today, Foden had a chance to feed Kane but instead of turning and measuring a through ball he performed this pathetic overhead kick and it totally summed up his tournament.
