Actually my Series X is and I’ve already reduced the price to 1400 PLN (bought it for 2300) and still can’t sell it. I have decided if I don’t sell it for this price by the end of next week I’m donating it.

Nah I won’t need it anyway. Unless they shadow drop a game like they did with HiFi Rush, I don’t trust them to release any of the first party games they might show on them or in acceptable state, and any multiplatform games I can also play on PS5.

If they put things together over the next 2-3 years I may get one towards the end of this generation.

You still need someone to accept it

No CeX store in your country?

Nope. We have a few gaming stores that accept used consoles but will usually offer you peanuts (50% - 60% of what they can sell it for).

Only Redfall was a technical disaster. They've put out plenty of games in good shape.

Yeah that's because they just didn't release all the others they announced. Most delayed forever and some of them like Avowed probably don't exist anymore.

Just wait til the showcase. Trust me Sarni.

I already know what the showcase will be.

A few multiplatform games I can play on PS5, with a bunch of random average games coming to Game Pass day 1.

A few exclusives without real gameplay shown that will be released in undisclosed 'future' (or just cancelled).

A few exclusives with real gameplay that will be scheduled for a random date they will change 5 more times.

An hour long show of Forza / Starfield which are the only games they realistically have for the next 2 years.

No. No. No.

Just wait 'la.

This

You'll regret it if you don't

You'll pretend you aren't gutted and made the right decision but deep down youll wish you showed some patience

Why would anyone ever regret selling an electronic device that you can just buy back if you change your mind and feel that you need it?

Cause in 3 weeks time they'll all be sold out globally and you'll get an extra 50% on the price thanks to the insane demand

I don't get why people are so annoyed at games being released late. I'd much rather wait a year or more for a more polished and complete game than have it released at 60 percent and being a complete disappointment. It's not as if there aren't a ton of other games do keep someone busy till then.

This whole culture of gamers expecting games to be released quickly, mocking gaming studios if they don't, and then those studios overworking their developers to get the game released on time is leading to the toxicity of the gaming world.

I never remember people being so obsessed over game release dates back in the early days of the PS1/2. Only one I can remember grabbing any attention back then was Daikatana.

Surely it’s on the developers to not promote unrealistic release dates?

There's no real reason to announce and promote games 5-6 years in advance, the only possible reason why you'd do that is to trick customers into buying your system with a view of being able to have all these games in the not too distant future (which turns out to be very distant). Also, giving people unrealistic release dates is another trend that I'm not really fine with, just wait until you are confident of actually having the product ready and working. Why would you go on stage and tell people you are going to get 3 major games released within the next 6 months, only to go quiet about it? You should have known the state those games were in when you said that, but of course you cannot give people the true message of 'we will not actually be able to offer you any decent exclusives for another two years', instead you will just pretend they are almost ready.

I don't have an issue with long development time, these games are quite complex nowadays. However you can be reasonable about announcing them and giving people a release window.

Exactly. Look at Starfield, initially announced for November 2022, then pushed back to first half of 2023 and eventually September 2023.

It's not the end of the world, but people are right to point out that it shouldn't have been announced that early in the first place.

Ofcourse responsibility is also on the studios to not announce unrealistic dates, but also you have demands from companies to continuously produce exclusives and AAA titles. Isn't that the point of a lot of this Xbox v PS discussion, that Xbox doesn't have as many exclusives as PS? It's on both the studios but also gamers who are building expectations of what a company should do and are obsessed over the promises then given. I played Halo Infinite and loved it but apparently that was also a botched release because they couldn't do it time for the release of Xbox Series X, therefore the game is considered a failure in a way for Xbox.

We as consumers need to be more mature about games and what companies throw at us (Remember. No pre-orders). Eventually we fall for their traps of higher promises and that contributes to the cycle of overworking developers, botched releases, mockery and then better promises.

That's a very disingenuous take on why Halo Infinite is not held in high regard at the moment. It has nothing to do with its launch and everything about the poor post-launch support, such as completely scrapping the promised co-op campaign.

It was very well received when it launched, the troubles came later.

I was watching some videos on IGN about Xbox v PS for this year and they were giving examples of how Halo was not released on time and it led to a poor release.

That's just wrong. Check the critical reception, it was universally glowing. The game was up for a bunch of awards. It had 20 million players a month after release.

Bless.

Years of disappointments about games (or lack of), only to finally lose it when one of your brethren switches sides.

@Sarni you've broke him by selling your Xbox.

The critical reception was good, but the user scores not so much; many of those pointing to 343 poor track record and spotty plans for the post launch support.

Those higher numbers have dwindled as 343 have reneged on all their plans post release. Now poor @Alock1 has to set up lobbies with bots, and he still loses.

Exactly, it's all about the poor post-launch support, not about the delayed launch.

I think the launch gets chucked in with the absolute shit show of the first reveal which lead to them delaying because of the backlash.

No its gonna be a hell of a show pal. I've seen the ESRB Ratings so I should know.

Co-op campaign was added about half a year ago.
