I thought this thread was a bit of fun, but the deeper it gets the more I feel some of you have serious mental issues

Nobody here actually carries this around their daily lives mate

Weaste did of course. And maybe afro. But he's a VR weirdo so clearly something off about him.

It's a flight sim mate.

Unlike you I'm not actually a fanboy. I even said today in this thread that the series X was the superior console. I think you'd rather shove a knife up your arse than praise the ps5. Your obsession with MS is beyond weird. I know you work for them and all but it's still weird. I think you need to reassess your life.

I don't actually work for them. I just need to attach my happiness to a brand and to defend that brand for my own emotional wellbeing. What's there to reassess?

I've praised the ps5 plenty. I've got one for a start. But yes you made a nice comment about the xbox, well done you, completely eradicates the clear bias you bring to each conversation.

Of the games I listed, only 2 are cross gen so your overall point was meaningless in the first place. And if it's all about being cross plat with PC (that I don't believe you meant but okay..), then Sony are in the same boat. They literally just acquired a dev to port games.

But feel free to focus on me saying that a game 6 months into a console cycle could have been achieved on last gen. If you genuinely believe it couldn't (not the fidelity or the loading but the level design, gameplay/combat, key mechanics), you're a sony marketers dream. I don't doubt the overall experience couldn't be replicated, obviously it'd be worse on last gen, that was never my point.
Of course that's what I meant. I have a gaming PC! I don't own an Xbox so I wouldn't have a clue what's on XBONE or not. I have gamepass on that gaming PC and I love it, it's awesome.

Ratchet could mostly have been achieved on a PS4 yeah but it wouldn't have been the same experience. There were no loading screens and the SSD did make a big difference with the portals. Would they have not been there? Of course they still would have but it wouldn't have been as seamless. And dual sense was pretty cool. My point was that it felt next gen which it did because it's a gaming experience I haven't had before, graphically and game play wise. I'm not sure what else next gen could possibly mean, really?

What's my bias? Seriously? I take the piss sometimes but I play PC more than consoles and what MS are doing right now is great for PC gamers. I also owned a 360 and modded OG Xbox and loved both. The only reason I have a ps5 is to play games I can't play on PC. I couldn't give a toss about Sony. They're all billion dollar companies who only care about taking our money anyway. It's as tiring as people with weird obsessions over Apple or Google.

Then forget your controller you have way more control on a mouse and keyboard no matter the game.

Unfortunately not many games support mnkb yet on either console. The worst thing about finally making the switch for shooters was then realising most games are controller only on console.

Apparently quake that hit gamepass today is controller input only which is a shame.

The best thing about this topic is in the not too distant future, resolution will mean very little and AI rendering technology will hit a point where your game running at 1080p/1440p will look better then any native 4k game and performance will be hugely improved!

Which is weird really because the XSX is pretty much a pc so why leave controls that are better than what is currently on the console off if they could be added.

I feel its a controversial topic for the console crowd if i was a controller player and anyone could plug in a keyboard and play i'd be pretty pissed off.

They could of course separate the two like they do with crossplay, but i think the mouse and keyboard players on console would basically be insignificant

But I didn't criticise R&C and I didn't say it wasn't a next gen experience.

You dismissed a list of upcoming Xbox games as not being able to hit the heights of R&C because they will need to cater to being cross platform (which if referring to last gen, isn't true of most anyway) and all I said was that R&C could have been largely achieved on last gen - ie. it was a great game because it was a great game, and had lots of polish, and the next gen version got proper focus and attention - but that doesn't mean had it been cross gen it wouldn't have been able to achieve the same experience at this stage in the console life cycle. Maybe resources wise, but not because of a technical barrier.

You let your perception of me get in the way of reading what I'm actually saying all the time is the real bias (oooooo)

Clearly you have a preference to Playstayion but almost everybody who posts in this thread generally leans one way or the other and it shows, despite how much people protest otherwise (and yes I'm including myself and I do absolutely love irony) or point the finger elsewhere. Me calling you out was just repeating your nonsense argument back at you when you dismissed Flight Sim.

Whether or not you think I'm the biggest MS fanboy has no relevance to the content of my post on r&c which was fair when you take a step back (as you just did).

Well if every game adopted cross play as they should, you'd hope there'd be enough scale to limit matchmaking based on input.

At least in ranked playlists. In public playlists, who cares.

To be honest in some console games, the aim assist is so high with controller its hard to know who has the advantage.

i suppose to a degree you could put all inputs together, i just feel like if you are into competitive gaming and want to use a m&k you would just go the pc route.

So we are in agreement then? XBox has no games and PlayStation stay winning? Great.

I said it could have been achieved on a PS4 but that would have made it a far less next gen experience than it currently is. I see nothing to suggest I've gone back on what I said. It just reenforces my argument that you're agreeing it would have.

I mean, if you can't see why a game being cross plat to PC and also having to play on the half as powerful series S makes it a much more difficult next gen proposition you obviously don't know what you're talking about. I've criticised Sony numerous times for making Horizon and especially the new GoW cross gen because it will absolutely hold both games back. With MS though it benefits me because I can play them all on PC so I'm not complaining.

You initially just said that "flight sim was more next gen and you know it". How else would I react other than to ridicule you when clearly you and I both know it's a silly statement. Now you're trying to claim I'm being a fanboy when I've probably been the most impartial person in this thread! Seriously, I only commented originally because another incredibly biased poster said that the PS exclusives were short, which they aren't. Mainly because I care about the games and developers, not Sony or MS!

But it's all good, I'll buy you a nice Microsoft magnet for your fridge and we can move on.

It's just a lot of investment innit. But now I have my xbox set up at a desk with a monitor and have made the controller to mouse transition, I'll probably get one soon. Was a good gateway though as I wouldn't have considered otherwise.

The hardcore Sony lads resorting to attempting to belittle because they've got nothing left now. Not a single good point. Just irony, hypocrisy, and delusion by the droves.

I actually think afro might be in a padded cell somewhere.

He doth protest too much I think

Can I get a Netflix fridge magnet as well for when they produce the next Succession please

To buy a prebuilt 2070 computer with a 1TB SSD you are talking in excess of £900 if all you want is the game you can get on a console then you are cheaper there.

Xbox controller is so good everybody either buys the Elite or changes to mouse and keyboard.

Touché

It's ok to admit defeat.

I admitted defeat to the system and owned the bias. Its you behind the curve mate. Its cooler to be self aware now didn't you know. You're only kidding yourself if you want to pretend you're the most impartial person in this thread (or impartial at all, to be honest).

You'll get there bro.

As for the comments about weirdness and comparing to Apple fanboys. We're all spending our free time on a football forum, so we're all a little sad (and to be really reductive, that's also a billion dollar company paying millions to players who (generally) aren't local and don't represent the every man, with us having no material impact on their success).

Anybody who thinks this is more than just people wasting time when they have feck all better to do is suggesting more about the importance they put on this debate than it says about anybody else.

Everybody likes to shit on Xbox, play devil's advocate, snowballs into long term back and forth. Years later when the Mrs is watching shit TV you can talk bollocks about games. Simple as that really.

Embarrassing stuff...

Gotta hand it to him, Spanner really let himself down, considering there wasn't much to torque about in the first place. Pretty gut wrenching stuff.

I'm sure he won't screw up his next post. You know the drill.

Oh you're on one tonight ain't ya? Not bad...

These are the same guys that make out like all the PS5 exclusives are the best thing ever, despite there being millions of posts criticising them everywhere else. See GoT for the perfect example of a bang average game that looked pretty so they all wanked themselves in to oblivioun over it.

Correct. Reviews at the time had it as a decent to good game.

Ponies gonna pony.

Metacritic 83 from 122 reviews, user score 9.1 from 19405 reviews.

GoT is a fantastic game with some flaws and some repetitive elements (much like any open world game). To describe it as decent to good is a nonsense.

It’s funny the ones saying it isn’t a good game are the ones who haven’t played it:wenger:
I've always thought it looked good - I'm not saying it isn't good - I'm just laughing at using an 83 metacritic score to justify anything.

It suggests most reviewers were not saying it’s just a ‘decent’ game as the other poster said.
'Fantastic game with some flaws' over-sells an 83 score to the same degree.

The 9.1 from thousands of users doesn’t.

Plus the Directors Cut is currently at 88 from 39 reviews. What number is good enough for you?
Not any number from user reviews, and not 83.

What's so different about the DC?

Also let’s not forget what @VeevaVee really thinks

I know this is a little against the thread title rule and hardly a revelation, but I'm just looking through Xbox One best sellers and there's so little to be excited about there. Playstation exclusives make it just far far more interesting.

Main reason I'm on Xbox is because most mates are, but it's very rare I even play with them.
Watch me switch for the next gen and Xbox have loads of sweet exclusives.
