Right now? Sure. Over next 2.5 years? Not sure if that's true when looking ahead since the Bethesda purchase (maybe, but I think it can be argued either way). Lots still to be announced, but those that we know include Psychonauts 2, Halo Infinite, Perfect Dark, Fable, Redfall, Starfield, Avowed, Everwild, State of Decay 3, The Outer World's 2.
All are from devs or part of series that have shown to be able to offer a great story driven experience. Outside Fable and Playground, who have shown their creds in other areas. Coalition and Perfect Dark has a question mark of course but supposedly AAAA.
I'm hyped for Fable. We know that it's gonna look beautiful, the humour in the trailer look like it knew where it was coming from I just hope they nail the story and game play. One of my all time favourite franchises. Do not feck it up Playground.
I'm actually hyped for all of them but especially Fable. I do think that Everwild might be stuck in development hell though. I don't think they even know what it should be.

Yeah.. being able to build an amazing looking world is one thing, but it doesn't make you a good 'world builder'. It can be pretty shallow for a racer but Fable will need depth.
Of course I am but only ever in this thread. I think it is the only thread on the site where you are expected to WUM.
These are the same guys that make out like all the PS5 exclusives are the best thing ever, despite there being millions of posts criticising them everywhere else. See GoT for the perfect example of a bang average game that looked pretty so they all wanked themselves in to oblivioun over it.
Totally agree. The world needs to be rich and full of life. The quality of the cast will also be important. Fable has had some of the best comedians in England voicing their characters over the years.
Fair point. Once you start taking it all too seriously you turn into this guy:

2. The thread on the game on this forum has plenty of criticism of the games faults
3. It is still a wonderful game

It really remains to be seen. I hope they deliver because as a pc gamer it would be good for me but from your list.. only really Outer World's 2 interests me, and obviously Starfield.. whatever the feck it actually is. The fact that all these games are cross platform means we are very unlikely to experience anything that feels truly next gen like Ratchet though which is my main point.
Anyway I was only responding to someone saying Sony's exclusives have been short so you don't get much out of them which is just untrue. I'm glad everyone is enjoying their consoles, they are both proper next gen machines which you couldn't really say for the PS4 and especially the XBONE.

I'm not far into Ratchet but I don't really see why it couldn't have been cross platform personally. And yes I'm including the portals in that.
Perfect Dark, SOW 3, Redfall, Everwild, Starfield, TOW3, Fable, Avowed are all next gen only. Only Halo and Psychonauts are cross platform from that list..

Never played Gods of War myself but it does look nice and is the type of game that I actually like to play. I've never watched a full playthrough either because it's the type of game that I might want to play one day. It's just and this isn't a wind up I don't like Sony's business model. Most multiplayer games would be available across all platforms if it wasn't for Sony.
With the S in the mix its always gonna be held back a little, you can boost resolution but memory etc for other stuff will take its toll later in the generation.

They are all cross platform with PC, which is even worse than being cross platform with last gen.

I'm not saying that graphical fidelity could have been achieved. It's obviously a stunning game. But mechanically I've not yet come across a gameplay segment that couldn't have been achieved on last gen, imo. Like I said though, I am early on in the game (they've never really been my thing, R&C)
That shouldn't be a stick to beat it with either. I'm just saying I don't think it's a shining light of next gen only game other than that the resources and focus were put into making it look as good as it possibly could (at this stage in console life) on ps5. But not because last gen was cut loose and so they designed beyond the constraints of last gen because I just don't believe that to be true.
I strongly disagree, most reviews and people who've played it disagree to and say it feels like a truly next gen experience because it takes advantage of the SSD, dual sense and console power. I think I'll take my experience and their word for it over the most biased Microsoft fanboy I've ever come across! I'm sure you'll get your next gen experience some day, when Microsoft realize you can't do them if they're on PC too.
Flight Sim is more next gen mate. And you know it.
I didn't say it doesn't take advantage of the ps5 hardware. That doesn't mean the base game and experience couldn't be achieved on last gen though. And yes, it is no doubt majorly enhanced by being on ps5.

Most reviews and people who've played say its a technical marvel and incredible the fidelity and scale being achieved on a console. I think I'll take my experiences and theirs over the biggest Sony fanboy I've ever come across!

Your obsession with MS is beyond weird. I know you work for them and all but it's still weird. I think you need to reassess your life.
I'd actually argue metro exodus enhanced edition is more next gen then both, if its sort of comparable to the pc version, i'm not however sure of the state of the console versions.

I've praised the ps5 plenty. I've got one for a start. But yes you made a nice comment about the xbox, well done you, completely eradicates the clear bias you bring to each conversation.
Of the games I listed, only 2 are cross gen so your overall point was meaningless in the first place. And if it's all about being cross plat with PC (that I don't believe you meant but okay..), then Sony are in the same boat. They literally just acquired a dev to port games.
But feel free to focus on me saying that a game 6 months into a console cycle could have been achieved on last gen. If you genuinely believe it couldn't (not the fidelity or the loading but the level design, gameplay/combat, key mechanics), you're a sony marketers dream. I don't doubt the overall experience couldn't be replicated, obviously it'd be worse on last gen, that was never my point.
Fair enough. My point was just that R&C could have come out on PS4 and the fact it didn't was a Sony marketing and resources decision, not a technical one.
I don't disagree with overall point about being cross platform anyway and catering to last gen. It doesn't apply to the vast majority of the list I posted.
