I find it strange how can people ignore some of the worrying stuff that has been widely reported on the PS5 universe. But I think the majority of people who are joining the PS5 bandwagon are mostly poneys, not people who like gaming experience.
- The PS Plus pricing that will overcharge you for games you already bought.
- Several games who had to remove new features so they could roll on PS5 (basically becoming a Ps4 game) with the best example being Formula 1

On the next update they will probably remove the cars
- Low space on the SSD disk and the fact that by default when you install a game it installs PS4 and PS5 version (meaning your SSD will be almost full with one game like Call of Duty)

What? I don't think that has ever happened to me. If it's happening to you, you probably have a faulty console.
I've honestly never had an issue with my PS5, and I agree that the Series X is the better piece of hardware overall so I'm not just saying that to be biased, but the PS5 has been excellent for me from day one, no hassle at all.
I fully agree with you if that's you're experience with the PS5. There are a lot of positive experiences. One just needs to check youtube and we will find some happy gamers playing PS5. But the amount of problems I see reported it worries me and some of them are really disappointing.
I still think Sony will turn it arround after releasing some updates, adapting the psplus prices for what they are offering and offering lower prices on the SSD expansion.
There will always be problems reported but 99% of users won't have any.
I'm not sure what you mean by "turn it around". It's already one of the fastest selling consoles in history and demand will still outweigh supply for the foreseeable future. If it was the disaster you seem to think it is then that simply wouldn't happen.
The UI is fine but not amazing (better than PS4), PSPlus isn't great at the moment but that's because they're in a weird PS4/PS5 limbo, and the SSD price isn't up to them, it's up to the 3rd parties that will be making it.

The commercial success is not in question: everything that has the Playstation logo will sell in good numbers. It's true that most of the users will be fine, but I still do not trust it enough watching some gamers opinions on Youtube (and some of them are Playstation cult followers) are overall disappointed when comparing the PS5 features with the Xbox. NOt to mention the games downgrade so they can roll, which makes it very underwhelming.
I think Sony is being a victim of their own success: they promised a lot but the end result is not yet there (not saying I'm not gonna change my mind in the future)
Should had added that bullet point as a personal opinion, I'll take that. I see much better options (no to mention quality/price) on Xbox than on PS5. But you are free to think otherwise, it's the whole point of the topic.
I haven't owned a console since the Playstation 2 and not planning on buying one of this gen but I'm weirdly invested in this thread. Playstation guys have my vote for now but it's close.

It was with you mentioning a subscription service for PlayStation then Xbox Services for the Xbox side that confused me. Wasn't sure if you were trying to compare PS+ to Game Pass (which is like comparing pineapples to grapes) or PS+ to everything as a whole.
Where else can we get reviews before buying the products? Those guys play all day. and already have both PS5 and Xbox Series S. I usually like to see some opinions of some gamer channels that I follow. I might have "bad luck" due to those guys having some bad luck, I'll admit that.

The SSD expansion method is way better on the PS5 than the XBOX. It uses an M2 drive which is non-proprietary and will come down in price over the years when the manufacturers start producing the high speed versions in bulk. On the other hand, the XBOX SSD drive is limited to that device and the prices will be controlled by Microsoft.
I've used loads of M2 SSD's in my PC's and never broken one - they're not exactly difficult to use and hard to damage.

The PS5 has some issues like most consoles but that guy was blowing it stupidly out of proportion and exaggerating everything, so maybe it was a troll or maybe he somehow does spend 20 minutes every day checking for updates that don't exist or finding bugs in the UI, who knows. The Series X is 100% the superior piece of hardware and MS have done an amazing job in delivering a great experience for the average gamer who just wants to hop in and out. If I didn't have a gaming PC I'd definitely get one. As it stands, the PS5 is more enticing to me because it has actual console exclusives and an amazing controller that feels truly next gen. Sony will always remain the more attractive and talked about proposition because of their history in the gaming world so everything will get highlighted more. They are both fantastic pieces of kit and getting the experience that either gives you for £450 is pretty incredible.

Yes, many complains also about the battery lifespan of those controllers, and the "blow" feature might be useful if they make an happy birthday 3d game and you have to blow candles on the screen. Or you are managing a baloon sale stand in some SIM game, I guess.
I might be overreacting a bit, but the thing is: my expectactions were set high after seeing the many trailers, etc, and even more after seing Ghost of Tsushima trailers. Even the PS5 design seemed neat and futuristic.
I don't buy a system because of the brand (Have console systems from Nintendo, MS and Sony). I prefer a better gaming experience overall, and with the better quality/price offer. And most of gamers I follow are actually enjoying a lot the Quick Resume feature and the good things the Xbox Gamepass offers for the price they are charging.
In the end people will choose what they prefer and might consider my reasons petty/exagerated, etc, or that PS5 will have exclusive release titles, and it's fine, because in the end people will choose their favourite ice cream flavours.

I don't know how you guys still have the passion. I get that playing all that b-tier stuff means you might be oblivious to what actually happens on the PS5 gaming front, but in general we've got great games to play. The multiplat games weve all been playing, and AAA current gen games not just last gen ones. I feel like unless you like playing lots of games all the time no matter the quality, there's nothing compelling yet for XBox (my opinion obviously). Maybe when the games start to come that changes but I'm getting to play games like Returnal & Rachet while you guys are playing The Medium and...... 12 Seconds? You do realise that this is a PS5 vs XSX not the PS5 thread? If that was posted on the PS5 thread you would be correct. People seem to think that the thread is only to throw shade of Xbox but at the moment compared to PlayStation, Xbox are killing it. PlayStation had the better launch but recently...
If I was to get a new console(I doubt I will) `it would be Xbox because there is no way I'm paying £70 for an exclusive game when you can get the other consoles exclusives for £10/month. Or how much they are charging for updated next gen games when Xbox are updating their games for free.
