Protests following the killing of George Floyd

I agree on that.

People are so quick to go on about "fake news" when trump and his ilk blatantly talk their shit, but somehow it's fine to brush off tweets that clearly were looking for more interactions with an exaggeration because it closer aligns.

It shouldn't be the case. There's enough real shit going on right now to focus on.

Exactly this. Makes you question the true motives of other posters at times.

Anyway it's done.

They know each other you clown. Literally laughing about the situation with each other all over twitter and instagram.
Ye I've had other stuff to watch than their multiple social-media accounts (if they are even legit), you just posted a one line tweet nothing more. @Carolina Red has delivered the facts, and as he states @TheReligion was correct all along. All I was asking for was proof for that statement and now that I have it I'll let it rest. Glad I'm amusing you though.

Just stop giving a platform to cops. It is so hard to watch when protesters are being shot and teargassed.
You have the repressive part of the state on show in blue and green. The ideolgical part is on TV screens.

The protests are truly revealing the grotesque face of the US state to the world. What a cesspit. Horrifying to watch it, I feel physically sick at the thought of what they’ll do to their own citizens if they feel that’s what is necessary. You only have to look at their foreign policy to see the value they put on human life - they will have no qualms about doing to their own what they specialise in doing to others. The sense of powerlessness as this unfolds is beyond depressing.

I think you have to look at it that if they can do this to their own citizens in front of the cameras, imagine what they do to others in foreign countries without the cameras. How many innocent people have they killed in places like Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan.
How many innocent people have died because of the sanctions they have on countries like Iraq, Iran, Cuba and Venezuela. For what? Just because they don't accept American hegemony.

I worked out why there was a comment about intoxicants, despite no mention of any tox screen (@Wolverine @Carolina Red ) The NYT did a detailed breakdown of events on the day and the kids from the cornershop that called the cops described him as “awfully drunk” and “not in control of himself” which the pathologist will have been told about (and/or smelt alcohol off him)

Wow that is beyond shocking . That cop has to do alot of time and the USA need to vote Donald out

Thank you for looking in to that dude!

Yet that is the tip of the iceberg to what the British have done in Ireland

And the cycle repeats as it seems alot of those within law enforcement have served within the US military..

It's all a bit of a mess.

Not responding to this post directly.

Mate, I get that you are in a position to view events from a position most of us have never experienced. I agree with a lot of your points in general, I've a brother who is a detective inspector.

But you're swimming against a tide of, actual real shit, when it comes to what's going on stateside right now, keep your powder dry for another day.

UK & Irish policing is a million miles from what we're seeing here, and long may that continue, hopefully.

I think it's more than a bit of mess. I think this is a wake up call to all decent people in America. Look what your government is doing in your name inside America. Just imagine what they have been doing in other countries in your name. Murdering innocent people just because they are different.

Episcopal Bishop Denounces Trump

June 1, 2020 at 8:42 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard 141 Comments

Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde, of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington, condemned President Trump for clearing out peaceful protesters with rubber bullets and tear gas in order to stage a photo op in front of her church in a CNN interview.

Said Budde: “I am outraged… Everything he has said and done is to inflame violence. I am beyond. We need moral leadership, and he’s done everything to divide us, and has just used one of the most sacred symbols of the Judeo-Christian tradition.”

She added: “I just can’t believe what my eyes have seen tonight.”

The Washington Post described Budde as “seething.”

We have the bestest freedom feck yeah

Surely the local department didn't just say that when someone called up about it? If that's true then I don't know what to say. There's alot more wrong in America than racism alone. The whole country is broken.
Why would you not believe that?

There's a 7pm curfew being enforced here in DC tonight and the same planned for tomorrow. I live on a usually busy street and it's deserted right now, but I hear nothing but sirens. These are the most surreal times I've known since the days following 9/11.

A friend of mine in Atlanta said the same last night, he was really on edge. Stay safe!
