Protests following the killing of George Floyd

As others have said in this thread, the fact that Southerners claim the flag as central to their "heritage" when it was only a thing for 4 years, and the only thing occurring in those 4 years was a civil war to keep slavery says all you need to know about what "heritage" matters to them.
Yep, “heritage” = “my right to be a racist cnut”

Them Duke boys done did it again...
 I've long be afraid to write that Trump really is Boss Hogg because my cultural references are generally a hundred years out of date as it is.

To them, they are the true patriots while the union were the treasonous fecks.
I’m sure they think so, but the Confederacy lost and the mental gymnastics to consider themselves patriotic Americans whilst celebrating the other side is mind bending.

It isn't even the confederate flag.

Why are you bringing fachts in in here?
Why would you ever host a SEC championship game in Mississippi, is the question here

Depends on where. Based ENTIRELY on looks (cuz it's history is racist as hell) The Ole Miss campus in Oxford is gorgeous. Starkville (Miss St) was one of my favorite campuses in the South to visit. That said, Jackson is the most depressing city I have ever been to.

It's on my bucket list to go to an Egg Bowl, but that's the only reason why I'll step foot there. Also, conference games usually happen at neutral site stadiums (Atlanta, Jacksonville only places I can think of in SEC country)

I went to an Iron Bowl, but never an Egg Bowl. Absolutely crazy.

Otherwise, it depends on the sport I suppose. The SEC baseball tournament is always held in Hoover, AL (suburb of Birmingham). We lived right next to the stadium, so during the tournament our Catholic Church would be a sea of purple and yellow as the LSU fans invaded the city

Ha! Typical. It's like Bourbon Street every Saturday during CFB season.

Just seen one of Breonna Taylor’s murderers has been fired.

Now fire the other two and get them all charged.

NYC cops to walk out (not turn up for work) on July 4th?
There’s an element of “bwaaa” about that.

Here’s a thought: How about they push for reforms in their own department?
What about weeding out the bad apples?

Oh no, it’s easier to throw their toys out of the pram. Talk about not seeing what’s going on.

How do you feel about this video?

For him and the others if they are going to be out in public they are going to have to deal with stuff like this happening because of the way the world works nowadays because of social media. If I were him I’d be using a mask everywhere. I don’t think these cops should be allowed to roam free but I also don’t agree with her filming/following him around and shouting out to the store that it’s him. That can lead to some nasty confrontations.

Yah, I'm conflicted too. Surprised he'd be leaving his house atm. Then again, the person recording the video definitely seemed like she was trying to get a reaction.

Has some commentary from police experts regarding the culture and structure of PDs. I didn’t know that 2 of the officers (light skinned black guy on video at the market and the older white guy) were rookies, 4th day on the job (after field training). They were the ones that were uneasy about the use of force and even voiced it to Chauvin, but ultimately failed to physically intervene.

Absolute disgrace.

Apparently the pilot crashed after falling out of the banner.

Some photos on Twitter of the person alleged to be responsible arm-in-arm with Tommy Robinson.

They both were. Must be cramp from all that goose-stepping.
