Protests following the killing of George Floyd

Fox News host talks race by calling out the real enemy: Sesame Street's Elmo

but Carlson had a different interpretation, and suggested the two puppets had a different, more sinister, motivation for decrying the treatment of minorities.
:lol::lol:

On Monday the Fox News host was accused of racism after he criticized the George Floyd-inspired rallies.

Carlson said: “This may be a lot of things, this moment we’re living through, but it is definitely not about black lives. Remember that when they come for you, and at this rate, they will.”
Jesus...

Tucker Carlson said something racist/stupid???

George Floyd’s brothers speech today was pretty good. He called for accountability for police actions, etc.
Hopefully it doesn’t fall on deaf ears.

When did all those pilots die?

Fighter pilot would be highly dangerous. Are air traffic accidents more frequent than I imagine?

Private aviation. Crop sprayers, firefighters, oil rig helicopters are all highly dangerous areas of flying.

Airliners are far safer but still they crash worldwide at a rate of about one a month, though most are small aircraft in dodgy parts of the world.

Rage against? the machine
This can’t be real. No one is that stupid.
Speaking of which, you should see the amount of trump flags flying on the boats in the marina near me.

Someone compares not realizing RATM is political to not realizing Animal Farm is political, but there are a lot of people out there who think Animal Farm and 1984 are criticisms of socialism and defences of capitalism.

Yup, mind bending. The far-right also uses quotes from 1984 and Animal Farm in their fight against "PC gone too far!", which is funny because Orwell hanged out with marxists and anarchists who actually shot nazis, instead of arguing with them on Twitter.

He was a literal antifa social justice warrior.

Is this sarcasm or genuine surprise?

Sarcasm. I remember reading horrifying stuff about how he treated the indigenous population in some instances. Same goes for lots of other shady individuals whose statues are still adoring many town squares up to this day.

"Gone with the Wind" pulled by HBO Max.
White House staff apparently heard "Frankly my dear I don't give a damn" from the oval office!

Many on the right (going by Twitter) are doubling down. The music is actually about rejecting the global elite.

Is there proof of this or are they just presuming because he is Victorian that he must be?

From his wiki page...

Tim Jeal, who wrote the biography Baden-Powell, argued that Baden-Powell's distrust of communism led to his implicit support, through naïveté, of fascism. Baden-Powell admired Benito Mussolini early[when?] in the Italian fascist leader's career. In 1939 Baden-Powell noted in his diary: "Lay up all day. Read Mein Kampf. A wonderful book, with good ideas on education, health, propaganda, organisation etc. – and ideals which Hitler does not practise himself."[11]:550

Plenty. His behavior in Africa was appalling. These days he would have been shot instantly. But racists were cool those days. All for the Empire and up yours and that sort of thing you know.

Watching a bunch of white (bitter) conservative Poolites losing their sh*t is quite entertaining, mind.

The actress that played the nanny was the first black woman to win an Oscar. Surely that alone makes it an important film for black history?

I’ve heard that there is a possibility that only fools and horses and Dads army may get pulled in the UK too.

Ok the world has now lost it:

The article seems to be based on a straw man. She admits as much by opening it telling us people made jokes on twitter in response to a tweet from Paw Patrol.

She using that along with a quote from a producer of Monk to construct the article.

No one is really coming for Paw Patrol

I wouldn’t be surprised if the origin of this is reductio ad absurdum by right wing trolls looking to ridicule the movement and turn those sympathetic neutrals into critics.

Honestly it’s truly hilarious watching them meltdown over an artist/sport/institution when they realize “wait, you aren’t an outright racist dickhead like myself?”

Twitter and reddit have been full of this sort of tears and I’m really enjoying it.
