Pro Evolution Soccer 2011

I lost to some gimp with a 400 rating because I passed to my other centre back, and the ball bounce up and hit him in the arse then miraculously deflected into the path of his striker while my keeper for some unknown reason literally sprinted out of the way.

Then he scored again after tackling my defender despite me pressing to pass the ball about five times while he was running in slow motion up the pitch with it.

and before that I beat someone miles better than me because I pressed to pass the ball into the box and instead my player passed it straight into the goal at about 2mph, while the keeper just stood there and watched it.

This is all getting a bit too retarded for my liking.

Some (presumably) 12 year old kid just called me a 'catolic cnut' for picking Celtic in response to him picking Rangers. He then tried to inject a bit of culture into the conversation by calling me gay boy about twenty times.

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

That is PES all over. Since it's birth it's been like that.

Also, is it possible to actually win/lose a game based even slightly on being the better player, rather than on when the computer decides to make something spastic happen, or when you press to do something and something completely different happens instead?

I've played once online, was the better player, won and nothing spastic happened.

On master league online, I have added david de gea, douglas costa and luis suarez.

Is Noodlehair a FIFA fan, playing PES? Honestly, and I don't mean disrespect Noodle, but every single post of yours in this thread is saying how shit PES is, when in fact, everything you have experienced in the game is probably the reason 99% of the PES fans play the game. Is this the first year you have bought the game?

Back on topic, finally got my filthy paws on a copy (it was released in SA last week). Spent 10 hours yesterday just playing it and loved it, especially compared to the previous 3-4 versions (which in essence doesn't really say that much). Obvious flaws - like the "running" on the wing bug etc., but the changes they have made to the game since PES 09/10 have been quite drastic and much for the better, IMO.

There are still a bit of improvements that can and should have been made, like for some shots, the GK's should be doing much better at, but then I faced Akinfeev (Russia) and he was nigh on impossible to beat. I don't quite understand the ref complaints though as the element of "inconsistency" is great and realistic IMO. For instance, the 1 ref blew his whistle every bloody single time there was body contact between the players and the next ref hardly blew for any fouls, unless you broke someone's leg! (a bit of an exaggeration).

Overall, I still think FIFA is better, but at least PES have made some real progress, catching up this year. I still prefer PES' gameplay though.

Going to start Master League this sometime this week, so can't wait.

I've got Saha, Scholes and er...Dunn, and shoved all my better players right up the pitch, which seems to work as I'm utterly hopeless at defending no matter how many I have back.

Oh, and set the Master League online quick match option to select "opponents of a similar level"...as it kept putting me up against PES super beings who somehow know where you're going to pass the ball before you do.

Nah, I like this a lot better than Fifa, but neither are all that, tbh.
As single player games I've pretty much hated both.

Difference is PES online/multiplayer is at least fun and addictive. Fifa online is just a complete twatfest.

Shux, i've not sorted out my internet connection at home yet, so I better get to it or else I'll just be playing single player games (excluding tournaments with friends) all the time.

Incidentally, how does Master League online work? A buddy told me about it but I cant for the life of me think what kind of "difference" it makes? Does it only mean you can play against other people's master league teams or can you actually trade players with other people aswell?

It's completely separate and different from the normal Master League mode.

You start out with the default ML team (Castolo, Miranda, etc.), and have to play games against other people's teams to be able to sign players and earn the money to sign them.

You can sell the players you have to get more funds, but not to anyone in particular. You basically just release them and get paid their value, though the value itself goes up or down depending (I think) on the overall demand for that particular player. For example, you could sign Park for say £4million, then if a thousand other people signed him, his value would increase slightly to say £4.5 million, so anyone else wnating to buy him would have to pay more, and you'd get more if you chose to sell him. Alternatively if no one else boought him, his value would lessen...not sure if that made any sense.

I trimmed out my squad to 16 players, then replaced my subs with the cheapest players on the game, and used the money that raised to buy Scholes, but now I've run out of cheap fund raising tricks so actually have to play games to raise money...and haven't had that much time to play it.

Im giving up on this. Thought I was getting into it. My online record reads won 6 draw 7 lost 18.

Ive never been that bad at PES before.

Im going to bite the bullet and trade it in for FIFA. Only problem is I have played FIFA 09 briefly apart from that my only experiences date back to Megadrive. Has it changed much?!?

This game annoys me so much at times but...

I just played some bloke who was Juve, I was Milan. Tight game until the 88th minute when I made a quick break, played a couple of one-twos and played in Zambrotta who'd overlapped from full back to slide it under the keeper for the winner. Orgasmic.

coldzebra

add me PSN tards.

Mind you I'm 5 games unbeaten with Ireland. Having faced Real Madrid, Barcelona, Inter, Spain and Italy

Edit:

Feck, just lost 4-3 to Madrid with Stephen Hunt missing an injury time one on one.

I'm playing the 2010 version atm,(hitler sunk, long story) does anyone who had it notice the computer is extremely hard to beat on top player? It has always been piss easy on the hardest setting, the most difficult pro I've ever had to play

No.

I went from 500 to 604 today

15 wins, 2 draws, 1 loss

I hate you 600+ cnuts. Running to where I'm about to pass the ball just as I press to pass it, somehow getting your players to direction change at the exact point my players runs in to tackle, and then dummying the ball round the keeper just because you know you can.

I hope you all die of food poisoning.

You know those four message options you get when you score and stuff, is there anyway to edit them to say things like

"stop...."
"noodletime"

"Dr Zaeus Dr Zaeus, de de de"
"Dr Zaeus Dr Zaeus, de de de"
"Dr Zaeus Dr Zaeus, de de de"
"ohhhhhh Dr Zaeus""
"Dr Zaeus Dr Zaeus"

Etc?

The endless amounts of annoyance I could cause.

Awesome, thanks Noods.

Incidentally, when you play other people's ML teams online, do they necessarily have to be at a "similar" level of yours or can you face someone who has played over 100+ games and has had suffiecent funds to build a much stronger team then yourself?

Also, can you buy any "player" if you have the money or is it still a negotiation with a club?

Am Utd in Master League just played the one game beated Blackburn 3-0. Want to finish of the Copa Libertadores. Am in the final with Corinthians and then continue with Master League and Master League online.

Everytime I boot the game it says there's a new data packet available but I have downloaded and installed the latest I think.....

General Questions:

1) I've played PES since it's ISS Pro days back in the early 2000's and I have always used the "cursor" directions buttons and never really the analog stick - as it is always slipping out of my grip. Now, with PES11 I am finding alot of passes going astray because I cannot quite find "all" the angles using only the cursor. Does anyone else have this problem? & how easy is it to get used to using the analog stick?

2) I find the player settings to "semi-automatic" assistance from the PC FRUSTRATING. I believe (or from experience) it's only been since PES2010 when they f'd this up. Before then you could use your "manual" player settings much easier, but these days choosing the manual player settings - no assistance from PC is IMPOSSIBLE. Does anyone have a clue what I'm ranting about and does anyone have any suggestions?
(sometimes the ball will land in between 2 players and whilst the AI is trying to change to player x, I'm trying to cover the ball with player y...which just amounts to total confusion)...

Thank you kindly if anyone is able to assist

OK. How the feck do you take pens. It's just cost me the Champions League final.

Also, any news on when a patch will be out that will have the kits on?

For XBox btw.

I just press shoot once and then quickly press backwards on the D-pad-direction-thingy for 1 second.
The the player does a small lob down the middle of the goal.

How does Master League work these days? This is my first next gen PES and it seems different. It used to be that you worked your way up through a league system but it doesn't seem to be the case anymore..

I've started a Master League with the default players. Like back in the old days. It's great, and bloody difficult! I'm two points off the relegation zone and crashed out of the CL in the group stage after fighting back from 2 goals down against Valencia in the last ten minutes, but not being able to get the winner. The way my whole team was charging forwards into the box and the Valencia players were just hoofing the ball clear in the dying seconds was great, and the clips of my players looking gutted at the end was actually pretty neat too.

Changed my opinion on this a lot. It takes a lot of getting into but there's definitely something a bit old school PES about it.

Nobody knows, it's like some sort of mystery. They've literally made it like a lottery.

I can get them to go along the floor now instead of launching about a mile over the bar. What direction they go in seems to be entirely random though.
