Pro Evolution Soccer 2011

Stop editing my posts PES fanboi mods!

(This PES is definately a step in the right direction but it's still a broken pile of poo)

It isn't though. In terms of being broken it has no more bugs in it that FIFA does. People that don't like PES won't like it but I really like the SP version. It's the first next gen PES that I have liked btw. In fact I easily prefer the SP version to FIFA but as I love playing online I play more FIFA because online PES is an absolute shambles.

Well, my pro ev preview of tonight's game was a sad occasion.

1-0 up after 11 minutes thanks to a deflected Nani free kick which eventually came to Berba who toe poked it home from 6 yards.

Four minutes later and Lampard levelled the game after Smalling failed to clear, kicking it against Anelka which allowed Lampard to slot in from 12 yards.

28 minutes gone and Berbatov had his second, a pin point Nani corner was met by Berba on the penalty spot who powered a header into the top corner past Petr Cech.

A crazy first half was ended with a moment of brilliance from Dider Drogba who took a Malouda cross on his chest and simultaneously turned Nemanja Vidic before volleying into the bottom corner from the edge of the box. 2-2

The second half was a quiet occasion until the 78th minute when a crazy mix up in the United defence let Lampard through, his initial shot was saved by Van der Sar but Lampard was on hand to head in the rebound past a helpless Edwin.

Seconds later and the game was all but over, Rooney out of frustration takes Ashley Cole down by the corner flag and is sent off for a second bookable offence.

Alas, in the 87th minute United are given a huge chance to take a share of the points. Nani turns Ivanovic in the box who despite looking like he'd taken the ball, brought down Nani and a penalty was given. Unfortunately, Berbatov, on a hat trick blasted the ball into orbit and the game finished 3-2 to Chelsea.

Is this worth getting at all?

I'm going to get either this or FIFA except Fifa is slightly more expensive. I don't mind getting Pro Evo as long as it's not unplayable for some reason, transfers are updated and the pitches/names/licensing can be fixed?

Anyone know if this is the case? Thanks.

I sold it after 2 months after barely playing it. I think I am now offically retired from football games

Same thing happened with Football Manager this year too. Played it very little and still not arsed.

Not sure if its just I am sick of them or if they were poor editions

It depends what you're after.

I prefer PES single player but FIFA multiplayer.

FIFA single player is really easy and riddled with bugs whereas PES is really quite good. PES multiplayer is fecking awful though whereas FIFA's is good (in my experience) plus with Fifa you get Ultimate Team which I think is ace.

Fifa had gotten better over the last few years and I bought it first but I think PES is better this time out. More possibilities.

As long as the AI's good and it's not piss easy on the highest difficulties then I'd prefer a better single player. But I don't mind as such.

How easy is it to patch transfers, kits etc on PES? Because I'd rather not play with Ryan Greggs for Manchester Red.

United are licensed so worry not on that score

I used to play Pro Evo religiously. Last years version I didn't play much. This years even less. It's ok, but its just not nearly the game I want it to be. Despite the hype I still think FIFA is the same pile of toss its always been, so it just means I'm not really playing much footy on the computer :(

Has there been a patch to tweak the game play recently?

I haven't played it in a while but it seems a lot more fluid, responsive and less clunky then i remember.

Shooting seems a little sketchy in this. Also, why does the crowd constantly chant "Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea" regardless of who is playing?
