I've got the annoying feeling this year will be like that for me (though tbf, the less time I spend playing computer games the better to be honest)

PES has improved massively, and I have hopes for the series again, but it's still not quite there for me, and while I'll get it, it's too frustrating with it's sluggish pace and unadventurous AI to keep me playing it for longer than a few months..

FIFA on the other hand, whilst not as frustrating, is the same game I've been playing for the last 3 years with tweaks, so it's gonna get boring much much quicker than the last one did. I've already stopped playing both demos...which isn't a good sign. I can even see PES being more played simply by virtue of it being something different, even though I have more problems with it

feck that has to be the worst part about any demo the world has ever seen. Funny part is even if you quit the match it still comes!

Just scored a brilliant goal. Not because it was spectactlor or anything like that but because I was losing 1-0 then in the last 5 mins, without selecting anything, Demichellis moved up front. I took the ball down the left with Ribery, whipped a hard cross in, and there was Demichellis levelling the game with a thumping diving header in the last min of stoppage time

What I like about this is I keep feeling the urge to go back and play it again, despite the fact all you can do is twat around spanking Bayern over and over with Barca (you'd think they'd have at least chosen two evenly matched teams for the demo).

I love the passing. Only gripe I have is if someone makes a run directly off me, it seems impossible to get little enough power in the pass to actually lay it off to them.

Nope, generally somewhat early builds. Most games have a patch waiting the first time you stick a game in.

I just had a look and it seems the demo is final code. Whether they'll subsequently release a gameplay patch I don't know.

I've found it quicker to exit out of Pro Ev altogether and start it up again after each match.

Okay. I finally got around a Fifa Demo and I definitely prefer Pro Evo over it. For one, it is much more fun to play with (as of now which is after 15 games or so of each game) and it is much prettier to look at. For some reason, I don't like Fifa's camera angle. I know you can adjust it but it never seems right. It makes the players look 2D and I can never get into the match.

The more I play this the more I like it. I just find it really enjoyable to play. Looking forward to release day now.

Hopefully it won't be too difficult to get it fully patched on the 360. I take it that as they have the Champions League licence all teams in the competition will have full kits etc?

Graphics aside, the game is still like donkey kong. I can already spot some glitches and the passing looks awful as always. I love the crosses though, that's the only thing!

Yeh it's in settings.

You can choose between assisted, semi assisted or manual.

Semi - Power is assisted but only a little help with the direction

Pro Evo 2010 was easily the game I played the least in the series for the last, feck knows, decade or so. I preferred 2009 even though the general consensus seemed to be 2010 was an improvement. I feel so trapped by it in a way you don't usually feel with Pro Evo games

Means I've gone a while without playing football games, because I tried FIFA10 and it just doesn't do it for me at all. Maybe personal preference than an actual truth these days, but it's just not a game geared for me

These 2011 Pro Evo reviews should promising. I never play the demos though so I'll find out on release day

You should try getting the demo Brad. New system and all. Takes a bit of getting used to.
