Premier League Matchweek 5 16th-18th September

Can't believe the ref, Howard Webb and commentators think Negredo didn't foul the Everton goalkeeper!

Don't want to hear everton bitching if this finishes level or they lose.

I remember a few years ago when big Phil Scolari took over at Chelsea and they won their first 10 games or so 4 or 5 nil and the world and his dog were suggesting it was all over by xmas. They didnt win it. Dont panic about city. Theyre very good, but this form wont last forever.
That never happened. After 10 matches, they had 2 draws and one defeat, being in second position behind Liverpool.

I really can't understand why there is so much pessimism on here.

You should easily dispatch Watford.
To be honest I'm one of those. The Fayenoord game really knocked the stuffing out of me. For me the most depressing thing about the last two games is that, we set out to allow the opposition play. We're fecking Man Utd ffs. Against City, we recovered but it was already too late. Against Fayenoord, we weren't willing to give the produce the energy to recover probably because it was the EL.
But that shouldn't be what our football is about in the first place.

Refs making awful decisions every week, they're all rubbish at their jobs

Typical pushing headbutt. You know, that pathetic one.

Cheers

Yeah, he is a fighter. Don't expect him to be a card concern going forward but I imagine the intensity he plays with is being met with attempts to get under his skin too. Noticed even against United, the Fellaini battle had a lot of intensity off the ball too.

A Lucho coached Nolito probably wouldn't back down much but Pep will likely succeed in getting him to dial it down yet still take advantage of the intensity that makes him a great player. Read it was a stupid reaction from him, shame

Shite officiating in the NBA made me stop watching a decade ago, it's heading down a similar path in football

Mistakes happen, it's normal but it seems like it happens in every game now. It's not something small either, it's the decisions that change games. Very annoying to watch

How are we so bloody low in the table when we've won 3/4 games.

Just that people are playing before us and at this stage of the season there are still a lot of teams playing well. It usually levels out towards Christmas.
Yeah but it just adds more pressure on us to win the next game. Imagine if we drop points.

I doubt under Mourinho you'll ever see the fast flowing attacking football that made United famous under Busby and then by Ferguson.

There was romance in the United swashbuckling style of play with flair and pace. Breathtaking stuff at times. Mourinho however is a cynic and his style however successful will suck that romance out of you.

Can see Koeman taking over a big club. Did prety well at Soton and now his impact on Everton is quite positive.

The PL needs the video technology implemented. This can't go on any longer.

Imagine if we lose the title because Clattenburg bottled the derby vs City and din't give us the 2 penalties and the red.

Pep playing long ball football, where, when?
Can't remember the games, I believe one was in a German cup match, but Pep is a very pragmatic coach who isn't afraid of changing things up. It's not his go-to strategy by any means, but he isn't afraid of doing what needs to be done in order to win.
