I believe that's the point he's making. As compared to what? La Liga? Barca and Real do this regularly.

Fecking hell mate chill out. All I said is it was a shite weekend for us so far, which is has been! Never even mentioned our game, as it is played tomorrow, that's what 'so far' means! Of course if we win tomorrow it's not so bad. It just means we have to win tomorrow like you said!Did you expect Bournemouth to get something at City or Burnley at Leicester? Chelsea/Liverpool either side winning wouldn't be good. Hull are probably falling back to earth with a bump and will end up where you would expect. We have to do our job.
Though they didn't face any of their rivals in those first five. West Brom (h), Wigan (a), Stoke (h), West Ham (a), Blackpool (h)
In 99 we qualified from a group with Barca (they were Spanish double winners with the world player of the year in their team) and Bayern in it. We beat Inter and an immense Juve (Zidane, Davids & Deschamps) team on the way to the final. We were 100% worthy winners.
Tomorrow becomes a must win game.
I think the 2nd part is everyone's strategyTo adapt to the opposition and win games. Very simple.
True but I think Silva comes back in on the left wing tbh. Hard to know as Pep likes pace on the wing
With Previous City sides Id agree...but Pep has won the league in every season bar one that he has been manager. He knows how to get the job done.I remember a few years ago when big Phil Scolari took over at Chelsea and they won their first 10 games or so 4 or 5 nil and the world and his dog were suggesting it was all over by xmas. They didnt win it. Dont panic about city. Theyre very good, but this form wont last forever.
Mourinho is called a failure by some for not winning the CL with Madrid.
Also ppl here aren't claiming Guardiola was a failure, rather that it wasn't all magic as ppl claim.
Also that Bayern team already came 2nd in every competition in 2012 then increased their squad quality further and got over the "loser" tag by coming 1st in every competition one year later. Plus half of their team were in the German starting 11 which were making tournament semis and finals for ever and won the world cup in 2014. So while he did a very good (but not amazing) job at Bayern, their players were also top level already before Pep entered the Bundesliga.
I consider Jose's style to be an adaptable pragmatic approach to football, It is not take your breath away with passing or fluid attack but it is based around having a solid defense, hard working midfield and good strikers/wingers. He has a focus on getting opponents to make errors when attacking for a counter attack to develop and exploit them however Jose can also be attacking when facing lesser opponents and tries to get goals to make the game manageable. What is Jose's style ? Genuine question btw.

Well the competition is not won only in the final, we faced top opposition from the beginning to the end, we faced better opponents than any other team, we had the group of death, we had to play the 2nd legs against Inter and Juve away, we only had 3 days rest before the CL final while Bayern had 6, and we were missing Keane and Scholes. In the end we remained unbeaten in the CL (both in 99 and 2008).We were very fortunate to win the one in '99, to be fair. Bayern were much better barring the 5 minute bottlejob and some inspired subs. In Moscow, we were one penalty (thank you, Terry) from losing that one; the other's were against an unbeatable Barcelona. In hindsight, we're fortunate we got the two we did, let alone, won the others against Barca.

That will be found out in Europe.Just trying to stay positive! Theres still big question marks over the defence, for me anyway.
This.Must-win game versus Watford in Septbember...bloody hell.
Have a word with yourselves.
Expect Deeney's ugly mug to score tomorrow.
Bayern should have won that game...easily.Especially considering Bayern finished 1st in our group (and got a much easier path to the final) thanks to a blatant offside goal versus us.
The final itself was closely contested (it's on youtube). Neither side was particularly dominant, but we got lucky a couple of times when Bayern hit the woodwork.
Bayern should have won that game...easily.
In our defense though,we played a second string midfield.
I agree with that. But it isn't this one game which I am impressed with.
It's every game that MCFC have played this season. I think they have a 100% win percentage. Only Chelsea (I think) have this.
We, on the other hand, have 2 losses already.
Unlike last season, there is no obvious/quick fix to our problems - we already have a Galactico class manager and also have the most expensive player in the World.
Anyway, fingers crossed that we can win tomorrow.
The better team lost.Bayern were unlucky, but some people are making it seem like it was daylight robbery. It wasn't. It was a closely contested game, even if Bayern seemed to be in control.
That's what I am worried aswell, probably 77 th minute and then we start surging forward with attack attack , and the Red Cafe meltdown to start at 2 pm

I don't think you need these results to tell you that.Looking at these results it's clear United need to step up their attacking game.
They were very poor against Sunderland. They have looked good overall but I don't quite agree with what you're saying. Against Sunderland they weren't all that good and scraped a win, even against Stoke they didn't just steamroll them despite the 4-1 scoreline and Stoke had a clear penalty denied. Missed their game against West Ham where they were apparently brilliant in the first half and struggled a bit in the second. Against us I don't think they were as brilliant as has been stated, they controlled the game but we could barely pass a ball without pressure, never mind with it in that first half.
Didn't watch today's game either where they seem to have been brilliant, but then didn't they also smash Bournemouth last season? They're just the type of side City's attackers love playing against, far too open for their own good.
well...I think that makes tomorrow a pretty 'must win' game....don't you think...
