Utterly appalling.

This is relegation form. I see no cause for optimism whatsoever. These players are slow, unfit and as thick as mince.

Amorim may well need to consider being more pragmatic or he won't last long.

Personally I want free debate. I don’t care how ludicrous I think an opinion might be on here. I can laugh something off and move on.
I agree with you but I think we're in the minority (not just here, in day to day conversations too)

Utterly appaling.

The problem then is we will have another manager and likely the same damn players. SJR and his cohorts need to stick to their guns. All the recent managers cannot be wrong, somewhere along the line the players need to take the blame.

I think every player with no ambition wants to play for us. The best paychecks with nothing to prove in a now mid table team. We are safehaven for players like that.

No point feeling sorry for ourselves. All we can do is to give them our support.
I tune in each week hoping for something better. It’s the hope that draws you back in. Still it’s a big contrast to when id watch matches during SAF’s time when if we didn’t get a result it would leave me angry for much of the weekend. While it’s still mildly frustrating I’m somewhat indifferent to it now.

That’s very unfair on mince.

Wes get away you know deep down this dressing room hasn't got any characters, obvious you are scared of losing MUTV job

Oh dear. Have we hit rock bottom yet?

I wonder what Jim and friends must be thinking right now. Forget about what we’re thinking, but what the men in charge must be thinking.

I thought we would win today. I do believe Amorim will turn things around but man things are grim right now.

We need to make some big moves happen in January. I don’t know how feasible that actually is, but we need it.
To me your last two sentences are the wrong mentality. This team is not winning anything this year. Making some expensive win now move is just going to set us back further in the rebuild. It really makes no difference whether we finish 10th vs 14th for all intents and purposes. Just don't get relegated.

What we should do is clean out any expensive/old players we have, and if we bring anyone in it's someone young/cheap who can grow with the team.

So before people start going bananas on Amorim. Amorim's Sporting team wouldn't perform even near as bad as this United team is performing in the PL if they were in this league. Need to clean up this squad and get some players in January and then some more in the summer. Build on that and sell and buy more in 2026.

Eriksen
Zirkzee
Shaw
Bruno
Maguire
Evans
Lindelov
Casemiro
Rashford
Antony

Just look at this amount of players that needs to be shifted out. One of them the captain. I personally wouldn't mind keeping Maguire but wouldn't mind too much him leaving either. I'm really on the fence with Garnacho, Hoijlund. Both so young so want to give them time under Amorim and see. Especially Hojlund. But it's at least 10 players on which we need improvement.

We know how good Mainoo can be. He needs to be properly managed. He's only 19 and a massive talent. We need a player that can get a hold on this team and lead. Someone to dictate the play.

I don't think any manager in the world can quickly fix this team to suddenly play amazing football in a short amount of time. This will be a long long journey back up to the top.

I would recommend you to watch this on youtube.

"The RISE of Rúben Amorim (The New ‘Special One’)"

It will get better as soon as we start replacing these players with someone that fits Amorim.

It's really hard to like this squad. We have had some dreadful teams post Fergie, but I cannot shake the feeling that this team is the worst yet.

I really feel for Amorim who comes across as someone with such an ambition to make things right, but also has a task of rebuilding a bridge with matchsticks here.
We have some good players but too many shit players.
Keeper who is hot and cold mostly cold and is cold far too often!
A back five/four/three that can’t defend
No creation in the middle or wide
Strikers who get nothing to feed on and when they do can’t finish
Bench options are a 1 trick pony who can only cut in and can’t take someone outside.
A Guy who actually died on the pitch
A mdfielder waaaaay past his best with no legs
Going to get worse before it gets any better!

Can we not just feck off FFP and buy a whole new squad? Just take the points deduction. It's basically what Forest did.

Not really. Besides the PSR issues we are actually broke and still owe hundreds of millions in fees for the current squad. We could go all Barca with the levers but that is a one way trip to purgatory and I don't want to mortgage the future for a shiny new toy in January.

Nope. Not all opinions have value. Not all opinions should be heard.

When NASA launch a rocket into space, they don't consult my opinion or invite "vox pop" opinions because they're of no value whatsoever. One qualified opinion is worth more than 1,000,000,000 stupid, unqualified opinions.

The idea that all opinions are valid and should be heard equally is one of the biggest blights on modern society
This isn’t NASA. It’s a football discussion forum. In a space program you’re dealing with objective facts - dimensions, measurements, physics. In football fandom youre dealing with subjective opinion. The idea that only a select group of elites can hold valid opinions is one of the biggest blights on modern society.

Just look at our squad. A no price tag associated look at our squad tells us everything we need to know.

A GK who can't command the box, is prone to baffling mistakes and isn't even great with the ball to make up for it. How many times has he refused to release the ball early or hit a long pass that makes you think that's what he was brought in for?

Zero players in central defense with with pace, height and strength. Look at Toti today. Amad went past him once but Toti still caught up to him. And he was making such challenges late into the game. Yoro can get there as he has the physical traits but he is still just potential.

Zero left sided fullbacks.

One central midfielder who can last the 90 min and match the physicality of the other team-Ugarte. Casemiro and Eriksen were getting outpaced even tonight as subs. Mainoo and Bruno are lightweight and have no pace either.

Zero attacker with the pace, strength and aerial ability required. Hojlund can't hold the ball consistently. Zirkzee jogs around. Garnacho, Amad and Antony are lightweight. At least Amad has the technical ability to get away from his man. Rashford is the only one with the correct physical profile but he can't be arsed to use his body in any way that might inconvenience him.

And then the braindead decisions all of the players make on a semi-regular basis. Bruno being the latest.

We can say that we have a better squad than Wolves/Forest/Bournemouth all we want but the truth is we don't. Maybe if the game was about which players can accurately hit the ball to a specific place, then yes, we have a better squad. But the game and especially the PL requires athletecism. When we are outmatched physically against every team, every pass and challenge needs to be more precise because we're always losing the 50-50. We can get away with it against vastly inferior teams, but not in the PL where any team can beat any team.

We need better players. It is that simple. We can grind out results by sitting back and countering but then the same thing that happened with EtH will happen again. We need to be stronger mentally and accept that it can and will get worse until the season ends if no reinforcements are brought in.

Amorin’s replacement has already been sacked. Wouldn’t surprise me to see he is fairly short with the bookies. This is a joke of a run. Thing is no manager could be much better with the total shit show we have up front.

I agree in principle, however, we cannot go on losing games hand over fist without the pressure on the manager building.

Total sympathy for Amorim given the squad he's been bequeathed, but we don't have the money for wholesale changes. In the short term, he's going to have to get a tune out of this bunch.

I'm sure he could play a system that the players would be more comfortable with, and maybe eke out a few more wins here and there and make some players look better than they actually are, but it won't do him any favours in the long run if he wants to find out who can play his system and who can't.

If they have the patience for it. Ratcliffe doesn't strike me as a patient man. They have bet the house on Amorim so let's hope they stick with him.

Barring relegation, Amorim will be here at least to start next season.

Hate this team, I really do. The state of this club. INEOS better get their A game on and quick.

This squad of players does not seem to suit any system or manager. It need ripping up. They need to get this right.

Just remind everyone how much ETH spent since he was made manager, and if any of them contributed much, Answer on a postage stamp.

Add to that the wages and extensions made by Woody and the flogs in the front office, and it’s no surprise the result

He has to be less cautious, at the moment I feel his plan is more about stifling the opposition than really bossing the ball and making an opponent work.

Mainoo/Amad at 10 we can now see with Ugarte/Case as the dogs behind.

Antony RWB (amazing to want him to start but he links well with Amad) and put Maz LWB whilst benching Dalot.

We desperately need WBs and 10s who can play without fear. Any time there is a chance to isolate a defender they should be able to go outside, go inside or work a cross.

Every full back and winger during the 90s and 00s had this in their locker but we have noone now.

Started bad then got worse and it's been like this last 3 games. Poor all round concede straight from corner kids park football at least spurs one was a foul. That Ref had an agenda from the start and was itching to send a Utd player off, and it was cute with it by Yellows.

It was another shit show and I honestly can't say we're next goal or win is coming from, this is a relegation form .

We just need a major clear out. The squad is full of players who seem to lack the basic desire, drive and ambition expected. Amorim was clear in tonight’s post-match interview that Rashford isn’t doing what’s required to be selected and he’s probably not the only one - unfortunately we still have to field a team.

I actually respect Maguire for having the balls to talk to the media - ironically he is probably one of the few who I think has the correct attitude.

Newcastle, Liverpool, and Arsenal up next. I fear we can barely see the bottom at all yet… genuinely concerned we could be relegated, can’t see which team this bunch of overpaid and lazy clowns could realistically beat.
That win against City could prove pivotal in the relegation battle.

Whilst on one hand it seems mad to even think about him lasting, but we're losing a tonne of games.
Some seem to be finding solace in "it's early days" or talking about red cards, mistakes, direct corner and set pieces goals, but when they're happening every game it's not really the freak event they're using it as.

Every team bar Everton seem to have our number don't they. We can't mix it with most of the PL.

Cycle, rinse and repeat.

Manager and performances turn to shit, having spent half a bil, wasted two or more years as Utds past sinks further into obscurity.

New manager comes in, shite continues, but he gets best part of 2 years to 'build his team' because he's owed at least that. Half a bil, new squad, not tight knit, no leaders, no core.

Now at least half a decade more has passed.

Against the back drop of FFP and restrictions there's no hope to truly eradicate the average individuals. The speed with which we could catch up, even if everything was year on year done right, is slow and steady. There's no quick fix. Newcastle have played it to perfection to date, but can't skip the slow and steady.

This club has had its downer at imo the worst time possible against FFP/shared riches across PL clubs. The blame for this downer lies well and truly at Woodward and the Glazers door. The crossover from Fergie/Gill is still the catalyst for this entire shitshow. We had chances to arrest the slide along the way, but sadly failed at all of them.

I would say the Abramovich approach is now what we need. Obviously not the spending craziness, because we can't. But it's time to rinse through managers like there's no tomorrow until something works. And when I say that, I mean cut those losses at max 2 years if it ain't working. Absolutely none of this stay of execution lark. 12 to 24 months is your lot.

Nothing beats the eye test. If it ain't working, move on. And the same applies to players within that period. Brutality and standards. Apply them.

We can be Game Raising FC.

Teams have done it to us for decades.

By big moves I mean players who can improve the team. Whether it’s in January or in the summer, the team needs to be improved upon. The requisite quality simply is not there.

If we only focus on clearing out players and bringing in someone cheap, where is the quality that is actually going to develop in the team supposed to come from?
