PL L FA Premier League

Wolverhampton Wanderers 2:0 Manchester United

Post-match discussion

Thu, 26 December 2024

Bruno needs to be stripped of the captaincy or sold. Onana can't make the same mistake twice in a week. I'd take a fire sale in January and try youth and whatever we can scrounge from Jim's Brexit emergency fund.
It was Banyidir wasn’t it against spurs.

The defending on the corner is literally the worst I have ever seen. Zero players trying to protect the weak ass gk. Zero players on the post. Zero players anywhere near the flight of the ball

That match summed up United this season. Probably a game was going to finish 0-0 then up steps the United's captain to get himself sent off and forced to play the game with 10 men for 52 minutes. Wolves did next to nothing but was gifted not one but two goals. No side gifts as many goals to the opposition as this group of United players do.

Newcastle,Arsenal and Liverpool to play in the next three games isn't worth thinking about...

I hate watching these players now , over hyped ,over payed waste of space , these new coaches must be wondering what the feck have we done

We are so slow and unfit. We can beat nobody in such a condition.

Amorim is no improvement over ten Hag. Please return to a back four. Please. You can do your three at the back thing if and when you have the players for it.

Mainoo and Yoro to be dropped for a couple of months. They can be gradually reintegrated during the Europa League dead rubbers or in games we have already won, but a lengthy spell out first.

Bruno removed as captain. Maguire to replace him.

A striker prioritised in January, a goalkeeper in the summer.

Let's be honest, lads, we are in a relegation dogfight and I would not back us to stay up.
Ah would you stop.

Are you serious? They are part of the team, you realise that?
I think it's a little suspicious that both these players were extremely highly rated before they came to the toxic catastrophe that is Manchester United. You could put Harry Kane, Haaland or Lewa in this team and they'd look like donkeys.

Seeing a few going in on Amorin which I really struggle to understand. No one thinks our squad is good enough, we are trying to apply a new style of play with limited players it is going to take time.

The thing I don't think gets mentioned enough is what a mismatch our squad is. Usually, when you take a player out you want another who can step in that position and ensure the team plays the same way. Who the hell thought Rasmus and Zirkzee complimented as a forward pair is beyond me.

One the game specifically, Bruno is a problem as captain. Dalot can't play LB/LWB, Onana is a massive £50m downgrade on DDG, and neither of a strikers are top half of the premier league level.

We played our best attacking football when we were 10 men after the subs. Take from that what you will.

We don’t have the players to fit the system, square pegs in round holes. Can Amorim be versatile as a coach and change it? I don’t think he can. Sad times.

What I find most baffling / worrying is not our tactical setup, but that our players' physical conditioning seems way off Premier League level. In fact, it's way off a lot of top level professional teams. We just look knackered, struggling to retain momentum, collapsing in pressure situations, getting manhandled off the ball at ease. How is this possible?! It's the same story game after game, season after season, manager after manager.

Ask yourself an honest question: are any of these players PL quality? You'd struggle to name 3!

Blaming the tactics and formation but no manager in the world can get a tune out of brain dead, lethargic, ponderous and unskilled team that we have. It'll be terrible for the club and fans but I honestly feel the players deserve relegation, they are certainly playing like they expect it.
Sorry but that's a load of bollocks

If it wasn't for the name of our club you would genuinely think this team had a chance of getting dragged into a relegation battle, let's be honest. It's as bad as it gets.

Whatever Amorim is doing, he has to change it and quick. This can't go on.
No point bringing him in and asking him play how the players are used to. We know how that story ends...

We have to stay the course and back him 100%, we know the players aren't good enough.

Don’t think Bruno deserved that second yellow. But the way he lost possession is exactly the reason why I think he’s greatly overrated and needs moving on. Would be a great squad or rotation player but been given too much power and importance for that to ever be viable for the next 2-3 seasons.

Also what a player Cunha is. Knew he scored great goals. But also a sublime player with his ability to beat players and passing.

Fed up with football and wasting my time watching these fecking losers week in week out

Team full of wankers

The players I want us to get rid of just keeps growing and growing.
Lost all faith in the players and seen nothing from the manager so far to give me a huge amount of hope for the future.

I have to say, everything that is happening at this club in the last few years feels like a spiral towards relegation.

Where do we even start?
Conceding calamity goals every game and can't score.

Easily the worst game under Amorim. And 95% of that judgement is based on what happened before the red card.

What is wrong with the mentality of our squad. Basically noone steps up snd takes responsibility. They’re all hiding as well as they can, only coming out of the shadows to collect their paychecks…

Pfffft… what makes me sad is that i’m not expecting better. Not a sleeping giant atm, we’re in need of CPR…

I feel bad for Ruben & his team. He could easily win league and make a deep run in Champions League. Instead of that he is playing in relegation battle with rival team, stadium full of rats (including rats in dressing room) and he will be limited with transfer budget because our players are unable to sell.

Looking at the physicality and form of Newcastle today. Ouch gonna be a tough one on Monday.

We continue to look weak and lost.

I'm going to be honest and say that even in the years we came 4th with Amorim, I don't remember us playing this badly. I wasn't expecting Amorim to struggle this way. I know United squad is subpar but he also has to take his fair share of the blame.

Oh dear.
Time for the players to show some real courage and fight their way out of this mess.

Can't score, can't defend.

He obviously watched the spurs game for that corner, still no one at all on the back post. It will happen again if we keep doing the same things.
