A decade of the same issue.. however I can’t deal with not being ready to play when the ref starts the game. No one knows why these players have that in them. These aren’t kids they are elite footballers there is no excuse not be ready when the game starts. Blame the manager blame the players does it even matter now?

Dalot is better on the right, but he's been shifted to accommodate Mazroui (however you spell it), we;ve been forced into that because both Malacia and Shaw are the physio's best mates

He’s not being forced at all. When you’ve spent a whole season with 2 LBs unfit why would you go into the market for a RB, then shift your RB that did quite well last season to LB? That’s entirely on the brainless manager.

Didn't like the starting 11 from the start, it got worse and worse from 3 mins onwards.
Piss poor again seen this rubbish in the last 4 years and more when the whole rot sets in from players and staff only one way to go .

Manager gets the sack, now I don't like them getting it, but I do think next 2 games Porto and Villa anything less than wins away from home and he's gone.

It's still early into the season and a new manager can get a fair crack . Nothing from this game can give anybody confidence.

Ok let me rephrase that.
We have full back in Dalot who is capable of playing on both sides, but his preferred side is the right.
So for some reason we buy in another RB (who no-one has ever heard of) and move our established RB to the left, because our two preferred LB's are never fit, and are wage thieves.
Now call me old fashioned, if I were manager I'd have binned off Shaw and Malacia in the summer and got it a decent LB
Instead we bought in another two CB's
Maybe it's me
But I think we agree

Yep - I think I’m done after tonight.

I was alway’s team EtH but it’s getting more difficult as the weeks pass to still be in that camp.

Unfortunately, I think it is time he walked.

Yeah, one being we won’t have to watch him the next 3 league games

Spurs had an xg of 5.41. Genuinely don't think I've ever seen it that high before

Something has been wrong since ETH got here, he has a knack of upsetting players.
No matter what you think, too many players have left under a cloud and saying they weren't happy at United, it all points to ETH and his methods
You are giving the players a way out. Who has left under a cloud? Sancho? Every time he takes the pitch he will show you why he is an absolute prick. He may be doing well at Chelsea now, but he is only starting. I guess by Christmas he will be at home playing PlayStation. Ronaldo? His ego was bigger than the stadium but unfortunately didn’t have the same water leak.
ETH’s problem is that not enough of these useless pricks have left the club. You saw the future today, Lindelof warming up, ffs is that not over already?
Rashford? A brilliant humanitarian but a shit footballer. He gets his wages for football so off to anyone cos he ain’t good enough for this club.
I’m sorry but these players aren’t upset enough. feck em, make them upset maybe then they will play like it matters.

Defintely one of the highest ever for an away game. Think someone posted in one of the threads it might actually be the highest for a PL away team since they started keeping that stat?

There's been a handful more for home teams. Arsenal yesterday was one, getting just over 6. For a home team to concede that much though, yep, appalling even with 10 men. How many teams have had a player sent off and didn't come close to it - must be loads. We'd already given up a lot of chances before the red card too so it wasn't even a big turning point in terms of the flow of the game. 2.09 by then inside 42 minutes, well on course for about 4.50.

Watching that first goal back pisses me off so much. How has their LB run 70 yards and nobody got anywhere near him? Rashford loses the ball and doesn't even turn around. Garnacho is just watching. Bruno and Ugarte run back, but don't make an actual challenge.

I think ETH has done a good job at weeding out players I didn’t want to see play for us again.
He now has his team. And. We still see similar failings.
I said last week on Bruno’s performance thread that if he continues to play Bruno it will mean his sacking and I hope I’m proved correct. (Despite the unjust red card)

Centre back, not LB.

Agree, first goal was frustrating. Shit give away by Rashford. I'm going to cut Ugarte some slack he's still getting use to the the team and league and van de ven has world class pace but you'd really like to see your DM break that up even if he has to go to ground and risk a yellow.

Like who, Pogba? Good. Ronaldo? Good. Sancho? Good.

They shouldn’t be at United but the replacements are the problem along with tactics.

If INEOS are serious, they should have a plan ready. Time for ETH to go.

Just got home from the match, first time at OT since 1989 and it’s probably safe to say it might be that length before returning going by that performance, that first half was atrocious, up there with our worst halfs ever, bizarrely started to create chances once down to ten men, hats off to our fans though as we were in the upper stretty and the support was fantastic.. wish I could say the same about our inept manager

Pull the trigger INEOS, this bloke isn’t the guy.
I, finally, agree. But who won’t be worse. I like Eddie Howe. But after a great season at Newcastle he seems to have stagnated. Southgate could turn City into a top 4 team that wins nothing. So no idea what he’d do to United.

Its painful.

Just when you think things have started to improve ( albeit small steps ), we just revert to type and back to shambles we go.

Today, I saw Spurs just play a system that ran rings around us and we played a nothing style of football and got what we deserved, in fact we deserved a worse score line.

Its easy to blame the manager for this and rightly so, it will most probably cost him his job in the near future, but god damn it, some of these players seem incapable of being coached, they just cannot adhere to any kind of system.

There has been some kind of malaise running through United for years and its something that's been ingrained into the players and it even affects the new players for some reason.

Whatever the problems are, ETH like many others has failed to find the solution.

At the bar today after the game, a Liverpool and Arsenal fan shook my hand and offered sympathy. Make of that what you will.

What makes today so bad is this spurs team are a bang average side.

Honestly, was there any player that had decent game? Everyone was terrible.

Just an exact copy of most of last seasons games, and confirmation ETH cannot coach at this level. He hasn't learnt anything from the teams losses/humiliation and cannot adapt to new strategies. There seems to be absolutely no concentration on the opponents strengths/weaknesses and instead just pumping out the same formation and instructions each and every single game. Why on earth we persist to play out from the back from a freaking goal kick when we are being pressed high up the pitch and don't have the technical players to get us out of the press is beyond me. Onanas got good distribution - aim for zirkzee and move him to the oppositons weakest aerial defender and get our players around him for the knock down or second ball if he fails to win the header, it ain't rocket science. But no let's have Onana pass 10 yards to Martinez to pass 5 yards to Ugarte whose being tightly marked. He has failed to work around our players limitations and is too stubborn or deluded to change anything.

He's lost the players and the fans, the only reason he's still here is Ineos have failed to find a suitable successor. It looks like they're not keen on RVN playing caretaker and want a permanent manager.

That is a record Premier League defeat at Old Trafford if we play any of City, Arsenal or scousers heck would throw in Chelsea, Villa or Newcastle

I hate that we look beaten before the whistle even blows.

The players are extremely overrated by most fans. No manager in the world can turn this lot into a top 4 team.

The way Spurs played in the first half was exactly how they've played their other away games this season. Ange doesn't change, which grants any opposing manager the head start of knowing what they'll be playing against. For us to come out and still be so over-run and bamboozled just shows how tactically inept Ten Hag is.

I don't think Ten Hag is up to the job, but to throw him just the slightest sliver of defence, a lot of the players were so bad today that you couldn't blame the manager for the mistakes they made.

In the first half especially, Dalot played like he was drunk. Every pass he made seemed to go straight to a Spurs player plus he was totally out of position for the Johnson goal.

And Zirkzee, oh my God that was bad. Everything he did was awful. He had an easy 5 yard pass to slip Rashford through in the 1st half and completely f**ked it up.

But it's a manager's job to make sure the players are primed to perform in big matches and he clearly failed in this. And many other big games before this.
