Rashford's finishing was bad, those saves weren't worldie level.
Absolutely except for the last one where his hard shot low was a great one-handed save by Lloris.

This is why Rashford will never be half the striker Martial is if they're both fit (huge if). One can finish and the other can get into great positions but just lacks the composure in the tight spaces.

His best position will always be as an inside forward, alongside Martial.

This is such a minor peeve it may not even be worth mentioning, but how does the referee stop play because a Spurs player takes a ball in the face then somehow doesn't do the same when it happens to Dalot? :wenger:
All Premier League referees apply different rules for United to the rest of the league.

Delighted with result, however frustrating we aren't 6 points from top spot rather than 8. Still worry about us facing teams at home sitting in the low block though

Absolutely brilliant performance throughout. That was Ten Hag's stamp on the team. It would have been so much more had it not been for a Friedelesque performance from Loris. Only below par performances for me were from Sancho and Rashford's finishing.

And he only stopped because Spurs attack broke down . Another night they could have scored

Thornley such a honest critic of Utd on MUTV commentary, whereas Gardner too worried about toeing the line as usual.

How are Spurs third? I mean, we were good, but they were horrendous.

At least part of the reason they looked horrendous is because United made them look that way. We put them on the back foot the whole game.

I can’t remember the last time had a top performance like that? You know things are taking a turn when other teams fans are running scared and try to cover up the colossal performance by Ronaldo antics!

After the Chelsea game United will have played against the current Top 9 teams…

So they are due an “easier” run of games soon…just a shame United don’t have that classic CF no.9

Yeah if we can avoid defeat on Saturday that would be just 3 defeats so far,Brighton & Brentford were the sloppy ones but then countered with huge wins over Arsenal, Spurs & scousers.

Like you say a classic no 9 and we score more tonight because need to score 5/6 when having nearly 30 shots in a game.

That was as comprehensive a 2-0 win as I have seen. We should have won by at least 4. No matter as we got the 3 points and know we have lots of improving to do finishing wise.
I was reminded of a 4-1 home win over Spurs in 92.You know the game Eric scored his first home goal and he laid on that pass for Irwin’s famous goal. We kicked on afterwards.
I think we can kick on from this.
Here’s hoping.
Ronaldo’s behaviour was the one blot on the night.

We shot 77 times, including 25 times on goal, last 3 games, and scored what some may consider a total of 3 'lucky' goals.

Before we get too exastic with the performance, which in all honesty, was generally very enjoyable, I would reflect on the above stat and try to improve.

A team that scores 3.8% of their shots, definitely has some big problems, that need to be solved as fast as possible, if they want to be successful.

Think we should expect a win after what we saw. The team is really coming together.
We now seem to have solved our midfield problem with Casemiro finally fully being bedded into the team.
Like many are saying we need a proper striker.

What on earth were Tottenham doing? It was a perfect storm of us doing everything right and they did everything to help us along.

I just watched the whole match again

I love Martinez. He ruthlessly cleaned Kane again and again. He’s a lovely aggressive defender. Casemiro was great. The kind of player you hate to play against. I’ve repeatedly said this team needs more aggression and we’ve started to address that. We seem to have our little nasty streak, getting through the hard work with good body language. We’ve also got that little bit of swagger back about us. Very pleasing!

Well no shit, that's generally because our best striker is injured and the other one is washed up. We are never going to be a great finishing team, but we've also been a bit unlucky with a few keeper performances.

It's not a "problem" that can be solved until the transfer window comes.

We basically accomplished a high press for the better part of a whole game. That alone was worth the watch.

Lloris is the only reason it wasn't 5-0.

People have complained about our midfiled being garbage? Spurs' midfield couldn't string two passes together.

This is one of the best, complete performances I've ever seen from United since Fergie retired.

Quite a turnaround so far, considering the situation we were in at the end of last season. First time I've felt bullish about our team in years.

Both are excellent.

Watched a different game to me, apart from his one chance (he should have scored) all he did was jog around, never in the centre for crosses and still looks disinterestedoff the ball.
feck knows what you were watching then.

Can see from the 20 mins mark the game changed and the cause of it was the tempo in the passing. If ETH can get this team to move the ball around quicker United will undo teams far easier given the dynamics of the attacking players.

Hugo Laurice prevented at least 3 goals. On another day Spurs would have conceded 5 or 6.

We do need to score more goals and be more effective but a stat taken from only 3 games is never going to give you an accurate representation of anything. For example if you take the same stat from our games against Liverpool, Arsenal and City you could make the argument that finishing is our biggest strength since we probably scored on 30% of our shots in those games.

Yes! So fun. Cannot remember a better game in last few years. Mainly due to the energy from start to finish.

Fred, Casemiro, Bruno all get MoM from me.

Many other great performances as well.

Had to watch it late after my kids' games. Man that was worth it.

Keep it rolling ETH.

as much as i love ronaldo and what hes' meant to united since coming here at age 18.....he's gotta go

That was a great performance by the team. Basically everyone bar Sancho had a really good game. Would be nice if we could convert a few more of our chances, but that is something to work on. Really liked our structure and pressing, and then our defence basically nullified Kane and Son completely.
