Dominant. Glad we won because the way the lads worked, on and off the ball, deserved three points. You worried at half time with the chances we wasted. In the end justice was done.

Shocked at those xG stats. Surely Spurs number includes the Kane finish just before 2-0, where Kane was offside i’d guess. Also would have thought we were gonna have a higher xG, but the number of long shots probably skewers the impression i have a bit.

I know he gets results, and we were fantastic but that performance and set up from Tottenham showed me why so many on here didn't want Conte apart from when times were desperate with Ole

I didn't want Conte even then. Honestly. This has just confirmed what I've always thought of Conte. Worse than Jose.

Get in there.

Fantastic result and performance.

Getting a bit tiresome that the Ronaldo thing is a thing.

Also why the feck were Spurs wearing their shit away jersey?

Brilliant team performance tonight. Completely outclassed spurs.

Great performance, could have put 4 past them. Hunted in packs, real energy. Made Spurs look very ordinary.

That Varane/Martinez partnership with Casemiro in front of them is just chef's kiss. Spurs could have played for another hour and not scored.

Great game. The best I've seen us play in a long long time. We've gotten some good results at times, but to control the game against that level of opposition was a sight to see.

So many good performances. Arguably Fred's best for us in my memory anyway. Casemiro's best game for sure. Fernandes and Rashford both looked very good. Everyone else was solid to good. Really encouraging and I'd love if we could follow that up at the weekend with another against Chelsea.

ETH style arrived.

Lloris MOTM by a mile with some worldie saves. In our camp I thought Casemiro was the linchpin and he looked pretty awesome. We haven't had a player close to that mould since Keane. Shaw keeps up his flawless form too. And finally Bruno starts looking better (though he always works hard, in fairness).

Thought it was also interesting to see the contrasting of styles. There is no way I'd have taken Conte for a trophy here or there, such boring football.

Rashford's finishing was bad, those saves weren't worldie level.

That Phil lad speaking the truth. The media has their narrative and they pound that shit into people's head. You all need to not click on their negative shit and starve them. They're thick and toxic and we need to leave them to themselves and just continue to look ahead without negativity.

That was beautiful.

Brilliant performance, dominant from start to finish with insane pressing and tempo. Spurs couldn't handle us.

This is the standard lads.

I love his passing.

Sure, Madrid fans said it was just average, that it wasn't his best feature. But I suspect that was because they compared him to Kroos and Modric...
Actually his passing his one of the best among DMs of his type.

Incredible performance to a man tonight. Difficult to single out individuals as I thought everyone played very well but for me the 2 full backs where outstanding. That Luke Shaw we saw tonight is the best left back in the world.

Nah XG is the most subjective stat that has become mainstream for no reason. If you watched that game, We should have an XG of like 4 or 5. Even if we ditch freds goal, Rashford alone had 2 really good clear cut chances....anthony had one plus brunos chance.

Every time you check the XG after watching the actual game, its like they watched some other game. XG doesnt really look at the number of players blocking the goal keeper or the velocity of the shot or how close the shot was to entering. If I remember well, Its just some probability of a shot in a similar position going in. The worst thing is it has become some stat that people quote as though its fact....as proof that the team is or isnt doing well. This is why the eye test is important...you got to go watch the real game

That was fantastic, completely dominated them - should have been 5/6. Controlled the game, pressing, passing, movement etc. So enjoyable to watch!

Just sat smiling towards the end of the game made me remember a tweet from the big Ajax fan (EuropeanLad), who said after a Champions League game last year something like: 'when watching your team play so well just makes you happy/on a high'... Felt like that tonight :D

Absolutely ruined them. I willingly and wholeheartedly flagellate myself for any brief moments of weakness where I considered it might’ve been a good idea to get Conte... feck that guy

What do you think of Tottenham?
For me, and I suspect a lot of others, that is why I'm glad we went for ETH and not Conte.

Negative all game and never really appeared to change when behind. Awful stuff, albeit we never game them an inch to play with

This is such a minor peeve it may not even be worth mentioning, but how does the referee stop play because a Spurs player takes a ball in the face then somehow doesn't do the same when it happens to Dalot? :wenger:

We're now just missing Martial upfront and Rashford shifting to the left (Sancho on the bench) and I think this team would have loads more goals in it.

The hold up play and lay offs that Martial would bring for both Rashford and Antony to have easy tap ins would've made this a 4 or 5 goal game.

Literally a perfect performance. Should've scored more if anything. Almost had 30 shots ffs and they did nothing.

Sancho was disappointing still, he'll be benched once Martial is in. Fred, Casemiro and Martinez all share MotM for me, can't decide between them.

Antony and Rashford were excellent I felt. Best Bruno game in ages, delighted he finally got a goal. Fullbacks brilliant. Varane imperious.

Also when is it time to talk about the improvement in De Gea's passing?
Watched a different game to me, apart from his one chance (he should have scored) all he did was jog around, never in the centre for crosses and still looks disinterestedoff the ball.

We badly need a proper centre forward (someone please drive CR7 to the airport, disgraceful once again).
