Think we should expect a win after what we saw. The team is really coming together.
We now seem to have solved our midfield problem with Casemiro finally fully being bedded into the team.
Like many are saying we need a proper striker.

Only say would take a draw as we gained two points on them tonight, also the fact Chelsea rested a few players for our game on Saturday.

After today's win, I have the highest of confidence we're never going to lose again.

Let’s keep this going! We’ve got an even tougher game next against Chelsea at the bridge. A win there and im confident of a top 3 finish.

Was Bruno teary eyed walking off at the end? Would not surprise me, emotional dude, who would have been so so so happy with how we played.
Yes I saw that too but my initial thought it was because of the wind or bad weather. On a second thought you're probably right since only him had that.

We shot 77 times, including 25 times on goal, last 3 games, and scored what some may consider a total of 3 'lucky' goals.

Before we get too exastic with the performance, which in all honesty, was generally very enjoyable, I would reflect on the above stat and try to improve.

A team that scores 3.8% of their shots, definitely has some big problems, that need to be solved as fast as possible, if they want to be successful.
Sorry to enjoy the game and victory. We all be as miserable as you.
Keep the negativity for a defeatand a poor performance please.

yeah this is nonsense mate

we obviously need a striker, everyone knows that

but drawing a clear conclusion that we have big problems based on that sample size of shot conversion makes absolutely no sense whatsoever

One of the best performances I’ve seen in a long time, to a man we were excellent.

Hard to pick a motm. Varane, Martinez, Casemiro, Bruno, Dalot all up there, if we can play like this on Saturday and get a good result I might get giddy and think we can make top 4.

Was an absolute pasting for Spurs.

For large periods they could barely get out of their half, they couldn't even counter as we were set up perfectly.

Hopefully we can take that to the Chelsea game. For the first time we looked like a Ten Hag team.

Absolutely raging I missed the second half now. First half was great just missing the goals, glad we got them in the second.

Thank you for this.

Wow, don't remember when we played like this last? That chart reinforces our absolute dominance

A performance like this one has been coming. The signs have been there in the last few matches but we've been missing that finishing touch.

If we had a top centre forward I think we'd be putting some of these games to bed pretty routinely. There was a bit of luck with the Fred goal but I'm glad it came, it would've been frustrating to have a repeat of the Newcastle game on the weekend.

Still delighted this morning after that showing last nigh! It changes everything when you see what we can do after a performance like that.

Best performance ive seen from United in a long time.

Rashford must be doing he's own head in with the chances he's missed lately but surely he hauls at some point.

Not sure what is up with Sancho, seems to play with the brakes on for some reason, really needs to take off the shackles and go for it.

I had about enough of our fans, other fans and " pundits" bringing our team down and giving undeserved respect to teams like Spurs and Arsenal that we blew away. We beat Liverpool too and got humbled by City. Thats 9 out of 12 and City is really the only team to beat. Im not saying there is no room or improvement but we really should not fear anybody

I agree - a lot of it was there to see against Newcastle, so many areas of the game where we've struggled for ages that now seems to have clicked. I think a lot of that comes from the combination of a central defence duo and a central midfield pairing that works. Casemiro brings the quality defensive coverage and ball movement capacity that takes the heat off our CB pairing, and they in turn play with a combination of aggressiveness and control, not to mention passing ability, that makes things easier for the midfield. And then everybody else's job suddenly gets easier.

The only thing missing now is the quality of the finishing, obviously, and also I think more broadly ideas and variation in the attacking third.

But all in all, I am unable to remember a better, or equal, performance from the last few years anyway. And they kept it up for 90+ minutes. Amazing!

We are starting to reap the benefits of competition in midfield. With Fred and McTominay being relegated to 2nd choice they’ve both had to up their game.

I’ve really enjoyed Eriksen’s performances this season but you could see how Fred with his energy and tenacity could be an option against better sides.

We just need to get a striker in so that we can push Rashford back to the wing. Once we have Rashford, Sancho and Antony fighting for 2 spots it would give us a better option from the bench.

Loved it! Brilliant performance and it was so pleasing to see that we showed intensity for a full 90. If we had a clinical CF, we would have won 4 or 5 nil.

Not to mention competition with the defense. Our left backs have both been good, and Martinez has transformed our whole backline. Dalot has been very solid as well

It was good we did it with Christian Eriksen, it's good to know we unlock sides without him. It was also good to do it against Conte, a manager who, from time to time, I'll still see a clipped bit of punditry saying it was a mistake for us not to go for him.

I have not enjoyed a Utd game so much in ages.
Great team effort, loads of energy and we moved the ball quickly.
I hope we build on this and make a habit of this type of performance.

We've played all teams in top 9 now, apart from Chelsea, who are next. All things considered, we're not doing too bad.

The obvious conclusion is we need a good centreforward. Otherwise, what a performance! The best in a long time and against a good opponent too.

Not bad at all, we've had a horrendous start in terms of difficult games. Beat Chelsea and we'll be 4th and at least 4 points behind City (and 8 behind Arsenal!). Can't wait for the easier fixtures to roll in because that's where we need to pick up lots of points.

Shocked at those xG stats. Surely Spurs number includes the Kane finish just before 2-0, where Kane was offside i’d guess. Also would have thought we were gonna have a higher xG, but the number of long shots probably skewers the impression i have a bit.

The Spurs numbers surely do include the Kane offside one. The ref (brilliantly) let play run because we had the chance to counter attack. Since play did not stop, the chance is counted even though it would have been offside. That chance was rated around 0.4xg in the stats I have seen. Xg is a useful stat if you apply common sense and have watched the game

I can't remember a performance as good as that in recent times. Delighted with how we dominated them and stopped them from playing with our own aggressiveness. Very pleased to see how we pressed and continually won the ball high up the pitch. It felt like the first complete ETH performance - a sign of things to come I hope.

The only downer for me was Rashford not finishing his chances. If he just composed himself a bit more and passed the ball into the goal instead of trying to hammer it into orbit, he could have had 1 or 2 goals last night.

Chelsea away is always a tough game, but they're missing a few players themselves, so I fancy us to go there and win in style.

I know, which was kind of my point aswell regarding Spurs’ number. I do feel though, that xG system is missing individual evaluation of the effort. For example Antony’s shot clipping the post, and also Casemiro’s shot blazing past the post were quite close, but it would hardly be noticeable on the xG number. So as always, xG can give and idea of how a game was, but football is best watched with your eyes.

While I think we've hit higher peaks in recent years, that was the most consistent 90 minute performance we've managed for a very long time (unless you count times where we were shite for the entire 90 minutes). We came out strong, we ended the first half strong and we came out second half strong. Even at the end when, understandably, Spurs tried to push and get back into it, we never looked that troubled. We looked stronger when we needed to attack and stronger when we needed to defend.

After the countless times we've seen United either start slow, or watched a promising first half fall apart in the second, it was incredibly refreshing to see a 90 minute performance.

The only obvious wrinkle was our problems with finishing chances, but that's kind of baked in at this point. Its going to be an issue all season unless Martial starts drinking holy water and sees his injury problems end.

I expect us to be up and down all season still, but week by week and piece by piece we keep seeing signs of ETH finally turning this club around.

I'm trying to think this morning, when was the last time we destroyed a side in the midfield as comprehensively as we did last night?

After a decade of worrying about the middle of the park, finally it seems we have a coach who values it and the players to dominate there.

I think it's more a question of them no longer being asked to deliver things that are beyond their abilities. Fred is a much better player when he can roam forward and freely press high, which Casemiro's level of defensive control allows him a leeway to do in a way that is simply not there with McTominay in Casemiro's role. I think we must now consider McTominay to have been supplanted by Casemiro in the no 6 role, and that if he starts, it will be with Eriksen or Casemiro rather than Fred. He too has much bigger scope for focusing on what he does well, which is more the battling box-to-box role. Eriksen too, while not a defensive midfielder, does the basics so much better than Fred or McT that he effectively provides a safe anchor for either of them.

Goes to show the importance of getting that goal. We were fine against Newcastle and just missed that cutting edge. Much better last night but still missed that cutting edge.

I though Sancho was a disgrace and Rashford can’t finish his dinner. Rashford on the left, Antony on the right and a proper striker and we would be much better placed to get that early goal and “kill” teams as ETH puts it.

When, exactly? I've been trying to think of something, but haven't been able to. I suppose you could put up the huge poundings of Leeds (twice) and Southampton, but they were against lesser teams who came out playing with undue optimism. Or the wins against City (in 2021) or PSG (in 2020, not 2018), but we did not dominate those games remotely like we dominated yesterday.

ETH style arrived.

Lloris MOTM by a mile with some worldie saves. In our camp I thought Casemiro was the linchpin and he looked pretty awesome. We haven't had a player close to that mould since Keane. Shaw keeps up his flawless form too. And finally Bruno starts looking better (though he always works hard, in fairness).

Thought it was also interesting to see the contrasting of styles. There is no way I'd have taken Conte for a trophy here or there, such boring football.
Thing is with Shaw, he reacts in the right way to being dropped. He shouldn't put himself in a position to be dropped, but he always seems to show the right attitude to get his place back. Ronaldo reacts in the wrong way. You do not have a god given right to be in this team. They play better without him. If Ronaldo has not recovered from having a pre-season it is his own bloody fault.
