Think we should expect a win after what we saw. The team is really coming together.
We now seem to have solved our midfield problem with Casemiro finally fully being bedded into the team.
Like many are saying we need a proper striker.
I love it when somebody can see the game as it was, they played as we allowed them.At least part of the reason they looked horrendous is because United made them look that way. We put them on the back foot the whole game.
Yes I saw that too but my initial thought it was because of the wind or bad weather. On a second thought you're probably right since only him had that. Was Bruno teary eyed walking off at the end? Would not surprise me, emotional dude, who would have been so so so happy with how we played.
Sorry to enjoy the game and victory. We all be as miserable as you.We shot 77 times, including 25 times on goal, last 3 games, and scored what some may consider a total of 3 'lucky' goals.
Before we get too exastic with the performance, which in all honesty, was generally very enjoyable, I would reflect on the above stat and try to improve.
A team that scores 3.8% of their shots, definitely has some big problems, that need to be solved as fast as possible, if they want to be successful.

I see what you did there.

A performance like this one has been coming. The signs have been there in the last few matches but we've been missing that finishing touch.
If we had a top centre forward I think we'd be putting some of these games to bed pretty routinely. There was a bit of luck with the Fred goal but I'm glad it came, it would've been frustrating to have a repeat of the Newcastle game on the weekend.
Not to mention competition with the defense. Our left backs have both been good, and Martinez has transformed our whole backline. Dalot has been very solid as wellWe are starting to reap the benefits of competition in midfield. With Fred and McTominay being relegated to 2nd choice they’ve both had to up their game.
I’ve really enjoyed Eriksen’s performances this season but you could see how Fred with his energy and tenacity could be an option against better sides.
We just need to get a striker in so that we can push Rashford back to the wing. Once we have Rashford, Sancho and Antony fighting for 2 spots it would give us a better option from the bench.
Not bad at all, we've had a horrendous start in terms of difficult games. Beat Chelsea and we'll be 4th and at least 4 points behind City (and 8 behind Arsenal!). Can't wait for the easier fixtures to roll in because that's where we need to pick up lots of points. We've played all teams in top 9 now, apart from Chelsea, who are next. All things considered, we're not doing too bad.
Shocked at those xG stats. Surely Spurs number includes the Kane finish just before 2-0, where Kane was offside i’d guess. Also would have thought we were gonna have a higher xG, but the number of long shots probably skewers the impression i have a bit.
I know, which was kind of my point aswell regarding Spurs’ number. I do feel though, that xG system is missing individual evaluation of the effort. For example Antony’s shot clipping the post, and also Casemiro’s shot blazing past the post were quite close, but it would hardly be noticeable on the xG number. So as always, xG can give and idea of how a game was, but football is best watched with your eyes. The Spurs numbers surely do include the Kane offside one. The ref (brilliantly) let play run because we had the chance to counter attack. Since play did not stop, the chance is counted even though it would have been offside. That chance was rated around 0.4xg in the stats I have seen. Xg is a useful stat if you apply common sense and have watched the game

While I think we've hit higher peaks in recent years, that was the most consistent 90 minute performance we've managed for a very long time (unless you count times where we were shite for the entire 90 minutes). We came out strong, we ended the first half strong and we came out second half strong. Even at the end when, understandably, Spurs tried to push and get back into it, we never looked that troubled. We looked stronger when we needed to attack and stronger when we needed to defend.
After the countless times we've seen United either start slow, or watched a promising first half fall apart in the second, it was incredibly refreshing to see a 90 minute performance.
The only obvious wrinkle was our problems with finishing chances, but that's kind of baked in at this point. Its going to be an issue all season unless Martial starts drinking holy water and sees his injury problems end.
I expect us to be up and down all season still, but week by week and piece by piece we keep seeing signs of ETH finally turning this club around.
Thing is with Shaw, he reacts in the right way to being dropped. He shouldn't put himself in a position to be dropped, but he always seems to show the right attitude to get his place back. Ronaldo reacts in the wrong way. You do not have a god given right to be in this team. They play better without him. If Ronaldo has not recovered from having a pre-season it is his own bloody fault.ETH style arrived.
Lloris MOTM by a mile with some worldie saves. In our camp I thought Casemiro was the linchpin and he looked pretty awesome. We haven't had a player close to that mould since Keane. Shaw keeps up his flawless form too. And finally Bruno starts looking better (though he always works hard, in fairness).
Thought it was also interesting to see the contrasting of styles. There is no way I'd have taken Conte for a trophy here or there, such boring football.
