If Carrick was hurt, maybe the best option was to go down on the pitch so we could bring him off and have a moment to adjust formation and tactics. Then no chance of such a mixup happening.
Think he meant subbing in 3 players so early.

True. That probably is the better way of handling it but I think in this case I think he's taking the blame for not having any substitutions left because he wanted to give all the players some minutes.

Can't wait for next season - if we'd have started playing like this just a couple of weeks earlier the title would be ours!

Agreed, but I think we'll need a new signing or two to be serious title contenders next season. A striker is needed and maybe a box-to-box midfielder. Hopefully we will hand on to De Gea but I would not be surprised to see some big names leave the club.

Think LVG will have to be a little ruthless. Of course Falcao will leave and there has to a doubt over RVP too. Can see Wilson getting a bigger run providing we can get that 25 goal striker to support Rooney. Valencia may have to be sacrificed for a proper wing back.

De Gea has to be the biggest signing in that we have to do all we can to keep him or as Gary Nev said, if RM want him we have to have one of their big names in return and that could only be Bale.

Depay looks to be a done deal, but who knows.

What a win and what a great run we are on. It's the first time in a long time that I am genuinely enjoying watching us again. It thought that Carrick was brilliant.

In a nutshell. Van Gaal has done really well in this regard. I think we'll be in the market for a striker this summer though. In the last two games, 5 out of 6 goals were scored by midfielders and the other by a wing back. We are still a work in progress but the signs are good. It's still Chelsea's title to lose this season but second place is not beyond us.

Not worried that goals are being scored by players other than the main striker , in fact the opposite, that is exactly what we want. If we are only playing one striker then goals have to come from everywhere.
Think we're too far from Chelsea to win the league this season (although if Green hadn't messed up earlier on there may have been a faint hope).

Have expected 3rd all along but now 2nd is certainly feasible assuming we beat Arsenal at home

TBH it probably worked out better for us. City didnt seem to realise we were down to 10 which was seen by their lack of urgency at the end. Had they noticed a player walk down the touch line they may have caused us more problems...

All apart of LvGs master plan ofc :D

I think Di Maria will be off. Mata is ahead of him and they way he's playing, deservedly so. Van Persie could leave and maybe Rafael too. Carrick's career is winding down and I think Van Gaal will bring in a new central defender. Should be an interesting summer.

Think he'll work on Di Maria. He hasn't become a bad player just one lacking confidence. A Carrick replacement is likely

Get the bollix in! I've been to 4 derby games now, and this was my first win. Solid performance and great result. Mata, Fellaini and Young shone throughout. Atmosphere was great too, just a cracker of a day.

Don't agree with that at all. Herrera put it about in midfield and was very good at keeping us moving forward.

Agreed.Herrera was far from quiet. Great pass in for Young's goal and kept things moving. Timely interceptions and didn't give the ball away unnecessarily.

I think he meant some players didn't know how play with 10 men. Said the fans were too loud to get any instructions across. Here's the interview:

Cheers. Watched it again and guess thats what he meant.

Did anyone else think Kompany deserved to be sent off?

It was a very close call, he went in studs up. When the ref went over to his assistant for his take on it I did think he was going to send him off. I didn't really buy into Neville's thinking that it would ruin the game.

As for our performance today that was by far the best I have seen us play for two years, we were immense. Too bad we couldn't have got a couple more goals but maybe that's just me being greedy.

This time last year we went into every big match with trepidation, thank you LvG

I felt nervous when we conceded but I still taught we could go on to win the game. It's the first time in a while I felt so much confidence after conceding in a big game.

Just noticed, the starting line up today had 9 of 11 players that were available to Moyes last season (except Blind and Herrera). But, Moyes thought we need 4 or 5 world class players to get to City's level! What a load of b*llocks!

Still over the moon. What a comprehensive performance.

We should not forget about the medical miracle we all witnessed today: A clear yellow at the very, very least. (PS; I did not create the vine, credit to creator)

It was a nasty, over-the-ball tackle by Kompany that could have broken Blind's leg. I thought he should have walked for it.

To be fair, Fellaini deserved a yellow for the actual foul

That was a 10/10 performance, was good as I have seen from a Manchester United in ten years, 4-2 completely flatters City

Absolute domination, what a turnaround this club has made in four weeks. BUZZING!:devil::devil:

He did.

He said that he want to get players some minutes.

Hilarious that he was able to make substitutions for the sake of giving minutes. Might as well have given Callum Gribbin a run out for all of the difference it would have made.

I had forgotten about this, Clattenburg's face said it all really, pathetic to watch. He's an embarrassment to their club.

A team full of cheats and thugs.. Not very effective ones though.
