Can a draw be a win?

When we play like that, it’s hard not to wonder why we can’t consistently hit those heights. Still, I couldn’t be prouder of the lads today.

What stood out even more than the performance was the mentality. Going 2-1 down could have broken us, but instead, we showed incredible resilience and were unlucky not to snatch the win in the end.

Hopefully, this is a foundation we can build on moving forward.

The biggest positive for me was that there was a purpose in what we did. There was literally not a single pass and hope type play that we have been playing for a while now. It was all measured. Also great to see the ball retention in tight spaces specially by Ugarte, Mainoo, Bruno and Mazraoui. Maguire was immense too.

Second half was a great entertainment.

I loved our work rate. Ugarte is such a machine. Bruno at his best. Dalot was good too.

The problem is no proper striker. It's painfully obvious.

That’s a standard setting performance, if we play like that every week then we’ll beat most teams

Very good performance. Deserved the win. Bruno definitely motm. Good performances from Dalot, Ugarte, Martinez and Maguire too. Yoro and Garnacho were both very good off the bench. Unexpected. Many positive signs. We really need to see a great performance against Southampton. Our fixtures have turned now so no more excuses. One concern is Hojlund was absolutely dreadful and Zirkzee wasted the chance to win the game at the end. Neither can be trusted up front.

That was so far beyond my wildest expectations. Superb performance. What a transformation.

What was most pleasing about that was that the belief never wavered that we could get something out of this game.

1st half was similar to the away game vs Arsenal but the second half was brilliant. We never had that belief vs Arsenal. Amorim has tapped into something this week.

Really good performance from United. And a good around performance as well.
Now there are no excuses. You have to play with that level of intensity every time.
A fantastic advert for the PL.

We can at least be proud and say they only got a point through a penalty.

That has to be the minimum standard now. On another day they walk away with three points.

Ugarte Bruno and Maguire were just immense.

This match shows that Bruno is capable of playing a more patient game if needed. Ugarte and Bruno was standouts in a very good team performance. Special mention to Dalot who I thought handled Salah really well

I can’t take xG seriously

We scored two
Had hojlunds chance first half
Maguire clear down the middle at the end
Amongst other efforts

xG is apparently 1.03

Sign of a not good team, game raising etc.

I am happy, scummers got their penalty while their handball inside was not even checked, this season is copycat of LiVARpool corona season.
If we scored our sitters, we would sing even more, so we need striker ASAP.

Players holding onto the ball under pressure and taking their time. God it's been a while...welcome back football.

Started the day not wanting to get smashed. Ended the day feeling like Maguire should've won it for us at the death.

Amorim walked the talk today: Had a week on the training pitch to put things right and it showed.

That was the best we've played at Juanfield for years. A lot to be pleased about. Especially the way the midfield worked with Bruno dropping in from wide areas alongside Mainoo and Ugarte.

Gotta feel for the poor scousers there. It's hardly fair that they've had to play us when we've had the chance to have two whole training sessions. No wonder they wanted the game called off.

Really good performance there and enjoyed seeing us having a go instead of falling to pieces which has been the norm of recent years.

It’s just annoying that they can play to that level but only in the big games. Hopefully, this is a start and that’s the standard. If we can repeat that regularly then we will move up the table quickly.

I'll take that, but oh my god I thought we had scored at the end. Couldn't believe it in the moment.

Play like that more often and we'll win a lot more games.

Great goal by Martinez. What a finish. And Amad again. A guy for the big occasions.

Great performance from the lads, very good to see the commitment and some confidence. Bruno majestic, Ugarte is a machine.

Really enjoyed that, even at 2-1 I couldn’t fault how we played and the effort from the team and pleased for the manager that we got back in it.

I thought Bruno was phenomenal, great on the ball and kept us ticking. Ugarte’s energy is unreal.

Some other great performances, Licha has come in for a lot of criticism but was a beast today.

Why oh why Harry, would've been so beautiful. Great performance overall by everybody today, onwards & upwards from here after that.

I liked the aggressiveness and a lot less sloppy passes.

I understand nothing of the criticism of Højlund today. Crazy. He misses a chance against a good goalkeeper, but otherwise plays a really good game. He has a huge work effort, holds onto the ball well, is physically strong and makes many good runs (as if he knows his chance). It's like some fans just need someone to shoot at.

Agree. But people see a striker, and the output needed is only goals. Utd just aren't consistently generating enough openings for the forwards to find consistency right now and it isn't solely on them... it's a collective, play like today more often, and that'll come. Plenty of cohesion showed today, which is a massive step towards consistency.... but we've been here before.

I said to my son (who is 10 and traumatized after the Newcastle game, it was his first time at Old Trafford) that was looking forward to the game as I thought we would be up for it, and that we would turn up. And that we did, man for man they did their job, harry and press, off the ball running and crunching tackles. And Yoro with a world class tackle that even a seasoned pro would be proud of, anyone else makes that tackle and it’s a penalty. This should be the yardstick now, that’s all we ask gents, blood and guts, and honestly…….we deserved the win.

Never looked second best to the best team in the league. if this is what ruben can achieve with just a few days with the players, it bodes well for the future. de light was the only one I'd said didn't have a great game and the team ethos looked so much better than in previous weeks.

i know lots of people will got for bruno as MoM but Matinez was superb... if only harry had scored at the end of onana had a little more luck with the penalty but I'm sure 99 per cent of us here would have taken a 2-2 at 4.30pm!

Thought we deserved the winner at the death. Did not think I’d be saying that when I was paying for more snow this morning.
