People blaming the manager :lol::lol:

The line up was attacking.

Get used to it, these players are shocking on the whole. Can't control the ball.

Do you really think Mourinho and Van Gaal have told our players to play so slow?

No. They're simply not capable. Speed of thought and movement is a sign of top players, not tactics, and we don't have it.
Then you fecking train them to improve!

Just watched the highlights. Summary would be:

We didn't as much as touch the ball in the first half, let alone actually attack. We started trying at about the 60th minute mark but created nothing apart from Pogba's effort. Juve didn't seem to play in top gear for most of the game and comfortably kept us at bay.

Fair assessment?

Overly complimentary

You can't be serious.

You are saying with a manager that is going to ask the team to press and attack will not improve the play? That is absurd.

Teams like West Ham show more intent.

Lukaku is so frustrating and he can't control a or head a ball properly . The Juve CBs literally toyed with him and handled him without a sweat while he kept clapping and shouting instructions like a half manager cum cheerleader .

This game was perfect to introduce Fred and Dalot . We really needed energy in the middle and fast passing which would have been useful to unsettle the Juve midfield while Dalot pace would have been so perfect to get in behind their defense since they left quite a lot of space left on their left wing .

Matic was off pace throughout the game and literally outran for the whole 1st half while Pogba was outnumbered most of the time in midfield but he did show some positive moments .

The most frustrating part of the game was that nobody was ready to try some 25 yarders outside the box except when Pogba hit the post .

Our central defense was quite on the job after the first 20 mins of the game . Lindelof was literally a beast and read the game perfectly . This was encouraging for his development and form . Smalling was good too and he played his part well . Young and Shaw had a torrid 1st half but they did cover their lines better in the 2nd half .

Rashford was clueless as usual and had no understanding with probably anyone in the team since he kept running unnecessarily without actually keeping an eye at the play or ball . Mata was shackled for most part of the game while he kept trying smart plays without any success . Martial was our standout attacker without actually doing anything outstanding since the rest of the attack was atrocious .

I don't understand why he never made any subs??? Can somebody tell me why?

You couldnt be more wrong.

It was a training game for them.

At least we weren't battered 3-4 nil...

Where is the coaching? Lost count of the times I've thought that.

Even if we scrape out of this group we'll get slaughtered in the first knockout round. With our top four dream almost in tatters already, would we be better off going to the Europa League and winning it?

Sad to say but I think we're going to the Europa.

Can't see us getting anything away to Valencia and Juve after looking out of our depth against them at Old Trafford.

This match is the reason I want Jose out. Ugly shit, happy to be 0-1 at Old Trafford.
Europa League is our level but ffs at least try?

Madness.

The line up was in no way, shape or form attacking.

Yeah it's shocking. I thought he would throw in extra defender or 2 to keep it 0-1 as it's definitely a good result for us.

Can’t see that improving things.
Pereira and Dalot would definitely make a difference in my opinion, they have genuine quality when the ball is at their feet whilst can't be said about every player that started tonight.

Is it sad that this is expected and accepted. We are falling fast, can we please drop Lukaku until he gets some fire and anger in his belly the man plays like a pussy cat. Barren couple of years ahead I'm afraid but I am a red through and through.
Yes, he has become a donkey but the team can't pass their way out of defence and neither get the ball from midfield to the forwards. If he doesn't receive balls he won't score. Their is zero movement amongst the players. Until we get good players this shite wiill continue and it ain't going to happen with the glaziers bleeding the club dry.

If you don't think it's the quality of the players, have a think to when Martial, Lukaku and Rashford got 1 vs 1 with their defence.

They fecked up simple passes every time.

That is not the coach.

I honestly think Mou is doing miracles with this makeshift of a defense. Seriously and realistically, none of our defenders should be a starter for united. Shaw has potential but not there yet with decision making. 4 defenders is almost half the team.

Our best attacking outlet was probably Ashley Young. Says it all really.

I suppose not qualifying for the knockout stage doesn't make a big difference. We would be destroyed by the first decent team we meet anyway.

Defense wasnt even close to the issue tonight

Lukaku’s form means he shouldn’t play but again, who do you play in his place. Squad depth isn’t there.

How could we have spent so much money to standstill or worst than that go backwards.....

Jose will be eventually sacked and at the moment is the scapegoat but the reality is the talent in the squad is nowhere near what it should be for the expectations we have for this club. So many players looked out of their depth today and really didn't belong on the pitch.

Well, that was dire. Mourinho must be happy though, as Valencia are shite and we are likely to get out of the group.
Not so sure Valencia will likely be 5points and we will lose AGAIN in Italy, the can raise the occasion and beat us too. Feck we are too shit.

He signed 3 defenders, 2 of whom are worse than Smalling and Ashley Young!

Reminded me a little of the Chelsea performance in that we were poor for an hour or so with the opposition looking very comfortable, before then kicking in to life a bit trying to have a go. There difference here was that Juve are a much stronger side than Chelsea and weathered our little spell of good football with relative ease.

Despite the negative result, it's not a bad night for us overall. We avoided a thrashing (which could easily have happened) and while everyone assumed Valencia would gain 6 points relative to us in game weeks 3 & 4, that will now only be 4 points.

We are not a CL team, we're Europa League standard. Same as we're not a PL title contender, we're a top 4-8 standard team. We don't belong in this competition this season.

That's realism.

Whats NOT realism is posters expecting us to beat one of the best teams in the world when we barely beat Newcastle Utd. Some of our fans need to wise up. If that opinion makes me less of a fan,I dont feckin care - at least I live in the real world.

First half,diabolical.

Second half, 'we had a go'....small victory. Our creativity is non existent,we.just run aimlessly to their 18yrd line, dither, lose possession, foul the player breaking away. Repeat 3mins later.

Predictable game.

All that money spent and we have no squad depth. We have hung onto players, Darmian should have gone and we could have got some squad depth, Jones should have gone and got more squad depth.

Losing is a part of the game. We are side that's too scared to lose. It's been this way since LVG took over. Ron Atkinson didn't win much but we were good to watch...these days we're set up like cowards.

We were outclassed on the coaching side of things, the way they move the ball and move off the ball is way beyond the basic way we play, in the first half we looked like Stockport County coming to Old Trafford for an FA Cup game, just happy to be there.

We showed a little more in the second half but never looked like scoring, Pogba's snap shot that hit the post was our only true effort on their goal. Given how crap Rashford and Lukaku were I don't see why Chong couldn't have gotten 15 minutes, it would have lifted the crowd and you never know with a young player like that, he could have made something happen, but we showed zero desire to really try and change anything, we just plodded on with the same tactics and approach for the entire 90 minutes.
