Post-match discussion

Well continuing on from last season, I dunno what you expected. We were fairly lucky to come 2nd last season due to having superman in goal, but we were never near the top sides in Europe and feebly dropped out of the CL at the hands of Sevilla. We also came 20 odd points behind our league winners. fast forward 5 months and why would we have "narrowed the gap?" We signed 2 players, none of which get any airtime so basically have last seasons team which was no where near Juve in the 1st place, where as they have added Cristiano and Bonucci (£231million worth of expenditures in total). Did you think we would run them close or even beat them? We are on a run of one win in like six. Why is this the result that shocked or deflated the fanbase? there is and will be plenty more to get up in arms over, trust me.

Personally i did not expect anything more, but tried to make the point that the average fan is biased and some of them think that we are a lot better than we actually are. Regarding last season i completely agree with you, and i have said many times that the underlying stats from last season does not reflect our final position or amount of points in the league. And that last season, from a statistical point of view, was an anomaly. The reality is, and has been for a number of years, is that most football related aspects of this club is so far behind the top clubs. From the technical abilites of the players, to the playing style, the way we train (assumed based on how we perform), long term planning, governance of the club etc. The only areas we are performing well in are financial, sponsorship and social media... Areas which have little to do with what happends on the pitch. Unless we completely restructure the way this club is governed, we should continue to have minimal expectations going into matches.

despite still smarting from the general dull as dishwater soullessness and vapidity of some of our displays this season not to mention a lack of optimism this defeat still hurts. We were on a relative high after a moral win against chelsea and started with the same team but still conceded a soft goal after which i kind of knew we wouldnt come back to win it or even threaten their goal. there were a few periods and passages of play where we looked good and may have probably nicked something if the rub of the green went our way but by now that impending sense of hopelessness when we need to step it up is quite well entrenched that I don't really get that excited about it if what i expect does happen i.e we stink the joint up. we looked a clear level below Juve and never looked like threatening them at any point which just stung a bit.

I mean, it's not like we were in the best of form in the run up to this game.

I read it and I'm still confused as to what makes that post appalling. Bit of an exaggeration there don't you think?

No. You might not agree. I think it was a dreadful post. Many of that type of post to sift through. Adds nothing, no thought, no insight, no wit needed.

I'm not sure you understand the meaning of the words "Dreadful" and "Appaling" It was a harmless joke and you are making it sound as if the poster acccused Mourinho of being a terrorist or something ffs.

We’ve already had a discussion involving not understanding meanings of words. If I feel a post is dreadful, I’m allowed to feel that way, you don’t have to. I’ve chosen the correct word for what I want to say. Because you don’t agree with me, doesn’t make it the wrong word.

Still a bit reeling from the other night the more i think about it.

I think one of the things annoyed me the most (other than the extreme lack of pressing) is that we should have prob been 3/4 down at one stage, but come the last 20mins or so we somehow were only still only at one nil. Surely thats when you think if we have a go we might just nick a point here.. But no, ...nothing. Just more of the same cautious play and standing off them when in they in possession. Not even a change, to see if by chance it gave us any momentum. What did we have to lose? Absolutely nothing.. would have still lost. Throw on Fred / Herrera or Perieria. Do something! He seemed to be content with only losing one nil. No balls at all to risk something.

Im honestly at the stage where im thinking jose is conning alot of people...he seems tactically clueless.. and ive been backing him up the last few weeks. And he need not cry after the game about not having fcking Fellaini when he had the 3 above mentioned sitting on the bench, one of them which he just paid 50m for!?

Simply put: men against boys. totally outclassed and we were lucky to get nought. *turns on tape recorder * no width, no pace, no world-class outfield players.

Does Pogba really think he'd get into the juve team. he's kidding himself. so far from world-class, it's joke. we have nothing in midfield and clown at the back. I don't care if "young had a good came" - the guy is not a defender, he's a failed winger. Time to go. Smalling - no idea why the club feels the need to celebrate his 200th appearance. Time to go. Standard question: how many of our outfield players would have made it into the Juve side. None. Possibly not even DDG at the moment
