Not a great performance but we could have won it if we could finish our chances. Garnacho very wasteful. I also worry about lack of quality among our wingers and strikers. This is not a top 6 squad.

Has the rule for offside changed??The fecking linesman couldn't wait to raise his flag.

Amorim is going to need time. Hopefully we give him that.

Of course we will. Unless, of course, he has a bad few months with some unacceptable results. Then he's clearly not the right person for the job so should be hounded every week until he leaves.

Let's not forget, he managed to finish 4th in a 3 horse race in a farmers league. If the club really had standards then we'd sack him now.

Our 6 attackers are not good enough. 5 played today with Antony being the other. We are in serious trouble. This must be addressed in January

You know the players have played badly when the fans blame the Ref all the time.
1-1 flattered us, chances were about even.
When you have one striker who gets one touch in the penalty area in 80mins and another with the skill of Bambi on ice, you have problems.
Rashford, wide from 2 yrds, Garnacho trying to dribble the ball into the net
Bruno can't send in a corner or keep a ball below the bar.

But yeah it was the Ref's fault for not giving us a free kick near the halfway line.
A bit unfair really,we were just as crap as they were and yet Rashford missed from 2 yards like you said and Garnacho misses a sitter really, what did they create?

Spent a billion pounds on their squad, currently the 4th best team in the league against a struggling United side. A very competitive draw is more then I was expecting.

Our midfield is still crap after all these years. And it's starting to look like Ugarte is not the answer. Casemiro and Bruno just make too many poor passes and give the ball away in dangerous places. We were lucky they didn't score a couple of more. I hope our new coach recognizes our main problem is midfield.

Garnacho really poor like everyone else said. I'm so tired of him putting his hands on his face every time he shoots poorly. He acts like he just missed or almost scored when most of the time it's not even close.

Hojlund and Zirkzee are so underwhelming. In addition to midfield we might need two new strikers. Thanks ETH for your wonderful transfers.

10 games played and we are behind teams like Brentford, Forest, Brighton, Bournemouth and Fulham. Times sure have changed for Manchester United.

I don’t think anybody is blaming the referee for the result, but if you think he gave fair and even decisions when we had 6 or 7 yellows and he gave them some ludicrously soft decisions, then you can’t have been watching closely.

I don’t understand the negativity here. We looked sharper in tempo and created decent chances. Chelsea are a team challenging for top 4 and we gave a very good account of ourselves

To use an old adage, we couldn't score in a brothel. We could drag Garry Birtles out of retirement and he'd surely get one or two from the chances we make. I didn't expect too much change from the football ETH served up, but Ruud must be banging his head against his desk about the profligacy of this team. Ruben's got his work cut out to salvage something from this season but we've seen new managers turn things round at other clubs quickly. Let's hope he can do the same.

Poor enough game , we were 2nd best for most of it , draw was the must we deserved.

Amorim has a hell of a job on his hands working with this squad to get them anywhere near the top.

Worst start to premolar league season ever , and the league table is not lying , we are a bottom half team.
But we had the better chances by far.

Fair result in the end. Didn’t deserve to win nor lose that match. End product from both teams was woeful.

Amorim has some job on his hands when he arrives & good luck to him because he’s going to need it. Hope he has the patience for it.

Only his 2nd game, but Ruud has somehow improved the team. The team created chances not just on 1st half but throughout the game.

Feels a bit harsh to me that, I thought Ugarte had a decent game, we looked off it first 20 when they looked stronger in CM but other than that thought we looked ok.

The whole team just makes too many wrong decisions, the front three, nine times out of ten choose the wrong pass or go it alone, the midfielders hold onto the ball too long and the defenders hoof it clear when they time to pick a pass. Onana also just takes too long to do anything with it.

On top of this as others have said we must lose 90% of 50/50 duels and the less said about our passing the better.

Amorims first and biggest challenge is going to get this lot playing like a team, looks like most have given up on trusting someone or other in the team.

I think this game was good in showing us our gaps and the things we have.
  • We have a good defence, but no left back
  • Casemiro is useful for games against smaller teams, but the gaps created due to difficulty covering gaps may require us to sign another midfielder (as a third option), and Casemiro come down to a 4th choice.
  • Mazraoui is a good player and has the type of technical ability we should be looking for
  • Our wingers are a problem. In big games and moments, we need players higher up the pitch with the dribbling/passing ability to take advantage of space. Neither Garnacho or Rashford do this well enough, and Amad still needs time.
  • Bruno's passing is a big asset for us, and he may benefit from being more of an attacker,
  • Hojlunds energy and holding up are good, he should get the season to see if he can work with Amorim to become a solid scorer, if not, he can be used as a back up.
  • Zirkzee has a lot to prove.

As a team, our attack is a bit of a problem. The players there either need to be developed or shipped out but at present, it isn't good enough

This was the game that vindicated everyone that wanted ten Hag out. No doubt we'd have got "three niled" again if that joker was still here.

I know, he'd criticise Bruno if he said nothing or the opposite.

It's not like these players were purposely downtooling. If he couldn't see how awful EtH's was, it's telling about his football managerial knowledge. (Just want to emphasize that I was only commenting his knowledge on certain thing, as he's still a true United legend in my heart).

He'll always be a legend.

It doesn't mean he's always right or the answer to our woes as some posters love to say. He would not do a good job as assistant or coach here due to that attitude.

That's why he's now just a pundit, not manager.

I honestly hate our ex-players. They aren't useful in anyway. They attract so much pressure, yet take any opportunity to undermine the players, yet their always so unwilling to address managers.

Poor quality game for the most part, don’t think either side can say they deserved to win.

We had the better chances but our forward players are abject in front of goal at the moment.

Not great, not terrible. As always our downfall will continue to be the inability to score goals at an EPL-level.
