Gaming Pokémon Strumfest

An another trailer and also apparently the final starter types will be Fire/Dark, Water/Fighting and Grass/Flying.

The last game I played was ruby so things might have changed but that looks...deadly.
Ice will kill it, but it could do serious damage to Blaziken, for example. And no weakness to electric or bug (or flying?).

I would still take fire/dark to single-handedly destroy all the ghosts/psychics.

Does anyone else wish the games were still mostly 2D? Since upping the 3D style with Black and White, and obviously even more so the more recent ones, I can't help but find them less appealing :(

Sometimes I think I miss the 2D, then I play it and I really don't like it as much anymore.

I've been wanting to watch the show again (watched the first episode last night) after hearing the theme tune a couple of days ago.

It's sooo good

There's a Pokemon tv app, has loads of episodes on that

I think Alpha Sapphire/Omega Ruby struck the perfect balance. The actual new games I thought were pretty awful in that respect, but maybe it's just because I'm not used to it. Especially when just roaming about, makes it hard to see the shape of a town imo.

They need to make 3DS remakes of Gold/Silver before I play another game now. Or preferably they could make a 1,2 and 3rd gen game with one huge story. e.g. you start in Kanto, then Johto and then finish things in Hoenn, with the same re-make style as Alpha/Omega.

This! Gold/Silver were the pinnacle of the series! You finished the game, NOPE - you have to do it again in Kanto.

One full game with 2-3 regions would be GOAT

Heart Gold and Soul silver were the best, a lot of pokemon to catch, a lot of legendaries, a long game and the 4th gen graphics looked the best imo

Apprently sun and gold will have like 4 islands where the gyms will be at and probably a lot of diving and surf.

Jolteon will be needed

The battle scenes are good, but I think the world design is lacking. I'm kind of disappointed with the graphics of Sun/Moon - I'm sure it barely scratches even the old 3DS's graphical power. Look at Resident Evil Revelations, or MH4U, for example. Sun/Moon looks rather bland in comparison.

With 2D, your mind fills in the blanks with what's missing. Inferior 3D will be worse than 2D for that reason.

I actually liked Black/White's design, but the 3D implementation was very poor. The neo-futuristic-yet-rustic design of Unova will look incredible in the remakes when Game Freak get round to it for sure.

Is that actually a thing?!

Yep there's tons of collectors on there and plenty of sellers too, the prices are better than ebay and it's easy to see lots of photos of the cards you're buying. Just remember to use Paypal and pay via the 'goods/services' option rather than the 'gift/family' option so to avoid being scammed.

Nice one I'll check it out, I'm only 3 rare cards away from finishing this set but I have 3x one of the other rare full art cards so shouldn't be a problem.

I shouldn't get into this again.

You should if you enjoy it. :)

I use this site for MTG and it's brilliant; not sure how good the Pokemon section is but if it is anywhere near as good you'll be doing well.

Start collecting them and make Youtube videos of packet/box openings with ads on, people love that shit.

Yeah 'unboxing' videos can be so profitable if your market hasn't already been cornered. There are some well run units opening box after box after box which big views and not sure what I would need to invest (time and money) to get up to speed.

I've not bought a booster box since the Crystal Guardians set which I loved!

You just need a gimmick that nobody else is doing.

How about, "Opening booster packs wearing a Freddy Krueger glove."

Bastards, all this talk of cards made me pick up 3 boosters whilst I was shopping in Tesco earlier, did get these two cool cards though.

I love the Suicune artwork and the holo on it looks awesome in real life.

Here we go again.

Think about £4 but they have a collectable holo in too, I'd never usually buy from there and get them way cheaper but I just had the bug
Ah right, cool.

TBH I think if I get back into getting them I'll buy them online. I probably would prefer getting them somewhere like Tesco, but I can guarantee the self-service checkout would break down with the light flashing for staff support while I'm just standing there with my Pokemon cards.

Nah it's way cheaper online anyway. I used to get them from chaoscards and it worked out about £2.50 a booster if you got a few of them.

Would be awkward!

Like when I got that limited edition Pokemon XY 3DS.

"Now, do you know if the youngster has a charge cable, as they don't come with this model."

"Uh... yeah, I think they do..... yeah... sure."

Cool. I reckon I'd get them off Amazon using vouchers, to help me not feel like I'm wasting money again

Very awkward. It's also guaranteed that I'd get the hot twenty-something year old part-time model to come over to assist me as well. Anyone else would get the 4ft sixty year old woman with a moustache, but nope, not me.

My first pack actually did need store assistance today because it weighs so little

I don't care though I'm not one to embarrass easily luckily!

Oh God. My number one source of anxiety is from looking about 15, so I'm pretty sure I'd be constantly thinking and cringing about that situation for the next five years.
